We had two birthdays and they gave us huge portions of saffron ice cream and Gulaab jamun on the house. Overall everything was excellent. The garlic naan is so buttery, so is the karahi and the Dum biryani.“

Just tried the falafel plate at **Halal Shop San Francisco** and OMG — it’s next-level delicious! 😍 The falafels were perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and that creamy white sauce with the spicy red drizzle took it to another dimension 🔥🔥🔥! The rice was fluffy, the salad was super fresh, and the whole plate looked like a piece of art 😋💚

The vibes were great, service was fast, and everything tasted 100% fresh and halal 🕌✨

The food, ambiance & entire experience on Valentine's Day were top notch. The mushroom risotto w an addition of a lobster tail recommendation by Chris was out of this world amazing. “I liked the chicken quesadilla. The cheese fries were also the best fries I’ve ever had in my life. One of the best halal Mexican spots I’ve been to in the bay.. maybe even the best. I went on a Friday afternoon and the parking situation wasn’t so bad.“

Chicken biryani & seekh kabob was so delicious authentic Pakistani flavor specially the Tea which is so so so good like Pakistani famous Pathan’s tea and we never had an experience before this in US. “Had a quick lunch where we saw a line forming out front. The very personable man behind the counter helped answer some questions about their menu. I ended up with the lamb gyro in a wrap, spices and sauces popped. My significant other got the chicken shish kebab plate, a colorful arrangement of a mildly dressed salad complimented the spice on the perfectly cooked chicken. The hummus was very fresh. After compliments to the chef, the same man provided us with some Turkish Tea, so we listened to a violin busker outside of the Whole Foods and enjoyed the brisk early September air. 10/10“

“Ive been eating at Shalimar for 27 years-I have eaten 100 if not 1000s of Indian places globally including NY LA UK DE GE etc. THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE. I had it tonight and sometimes its like how can it get better than that one time and then it is. The Tikka is unique and 1000% its own recipe apart from any I have ever found. Its simple but mega flavor, not overtly creamy a little oily but it the Tikka I compare all others too. Now I have had Indonesian that dresses up dishes like no other but for straight up dishes its the jam. Also the oven baked tandooris are over the top good too. Too bad Im moving finally from SF. This place is very much a part of me and my history, all the old times with friends (even the old Polk location)....all the conversations with staff, so friendly and nice. It will be missed!“

“Came here for a quick dinner with a friend and it was empty!

Good:
- Very hearty, you get a ton of food for the amount you pay
- Very quick service, it's like Chipotle
- Ample seating
- The build your own bowl is super worth the price, I also got half salad half rice

Bad:
- A bit messier inside and not a super nice ambiance inside, but it's a quiet place for a catchup with friends

Overall this was a good pit stop if you just want a quick meal!“

“Banger place for huge, flavorful, crispy fried chicken and seasoned fries. Their bad boy sandwich is the perfect amount of spice, I think the naughty chick would probably be way too much. Everything was super fresh, made to order, and the staff provided great service. Would recommend the G sauce and garlic sauce too.

Took off one star because their dine in option was closed even though we got there 1-1.5 hours before closing. They had also run out of their mac and cheese by then.

Overall definitely coming back as it didn’t upset our stomachs either like fast food does.“

Now that I occasionally work in SF, I was please to find a Sajj just a block away. Love that the food is fresh and bonus that it is full of flavor. The mixed green salad had tomatoes amd cucumber and was topped with a pickled cabbage and dressed to perfection. I only had a small bite of the pita because rhe meal was so filling. Amazing and authentic falasteeni food🇵🇸. I have spent a lot of time in both Dearborn & Chicago, home to some of the best Arabic restaurants in the country. That being said, this place beats them all.

My server was friendly and hospitable even with the time being so close to closing, and the indoor/outdoor seating area reminds me of the mashawi restaurants in Cairo or Amman.

The meat was delicious & juicy, and all of the moutabalat (mezza) tasted just like back home. I can’t recommend this place enough, I wish all the success to the owner & staff!“
