“Liholiho is a fantastic restaurant! The space is modern and beautifully designed, with an open kitchen where you can watch everything being prepared, which adds a lot of energy and transparency to the dining experience.

The service was very friendly, attentive, and quick. The cocktails were excellent, and even the non-alcoholic one I ordered was made with care and tasted great.

The food was outstanding. The bun with beef tongue was extraordinary, the tuna tartare and ceviche were perfectly balanced and fresh, and the shrimps with crispy rice were especially memorable. All dishes showed creativity, originality, and were prepared with high quality ingredients.

For three people, including first and main courses, drinks, and one dessert, the bill came to $260, which I found fair for this level of quality. The only minus point is that the restaurant does not offer coffee, which would have been a nice way to finish the meal.

Overall, I really enjoyed everything at Liholiho. Highly recommended, and I hope I will get to return again!“

“We walked in on NYE without a reservation and they graciously found us a spot in the bar area. Service was on point and staff were festively dressed! I love a crafty cocktail but most are too sweet. I had the Smokey mezcal cocktail 🍹. Perfection. Appetizers were delish as well. Perfect way to start our NYE celebrations.“

The delicious dishes (the duck!), the wait staff (and their locally designed clothes), the pot my tea was served in, the videos playing in the restroom. The soap! “The food here is always exceptional. Dishes are very creative and flavorful. Wines and deserts to pair are also great. Though the service is lacking for the experience you're paying for. Our waitress came to check only once besides taking our order. The water pitcher was frequently empty and drinks took far too long to arrive. This restaurant could be great with more waitstaff and better training, but right now it's just good.“

“We absolutely loved our experience at Spruce. The food was phenomenal, the cocktails were amazing, and the ambience was truly spectacular. Every course on the prix fixe menu was superb and the pricing felt very fair overall. The only surprise was the truffle add-on, which was $95. While the flavor was out of this world, the portion size made it feel like it should have been closer to $60. Still, it didn't take away from how fantastic the evening was. The service was warm and attentive, and the entire experience was memorable enough that we're already planning to come back. I even asked why the restaurant isn't currently Michelin-rated, because it genuinely feels like it should be. I was told that Spruce previously held a Michelin star and lost it due to some past service hiccups — but based on our experience, I truly believe Spruce deserves to have that star back. I opened with the Candace cocktail—Gin, Licor 43, St. Germaine, Peychaud’s and a citrus slice—flirted with my inner #Hedonist in a way that every cocktail should. Each sip sparkled with hints of sweet and sour with salacious depth. I find so much inspiration at the bottom of a glass… . . Then I went with my favorite protein, braised octopus; nested in squid ink gnocchi with an almond relish! It was a dope expression of land and sea in every bite. . . Followed, was the mushroom lasagna; layered with trumpets and truffles, dusted with lemon-shallot bread crumbles. It gave a béchamel-type flavor that was rich, luxurious and lingering. . . Finally—ending with the Scallops grounded in a Venetian black rice, sorrel butter and fennel sofrito! The sear was sensually done; perfectly caramelized Andy succulently sinful. . . “Key Klub is a bit tucked away, but absolutely worth the short walk or taxi—especially if you’re after a lively, good-vibes-only kind of night. It’s part of the same crew behind Bodega in North Beach (also great), but this spot leans a little rowdier—in the best way.

Expect a cool, chatty, very San Francisco crowd where everyone somehow looks like they’ve walked out of a magazine shoot.

Mostly wine and beer on offer, plus some top-notch nibbles. Staff are fun, prices are decent, and the whole place just hums with great energy. Strongly recommended for a buzzy evening out.“

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.“

“Excellent food, clearly popular with tech conference goers (so crowded, trendy and loud), service was mostly great (watch out on food allergies), beautiful setting, classic SF elevated dining experience. Oysters were really good and fresh; our table had the swordfish, blackened cod and risotto - all excellent. We brought our own wine which once they figured out what it was they offered to decant it - all and all a really nice meal. The one watch out is we had someone allergic to gluten and another to dairy which we pointed out multiple times and they still brought us a dish that had diary - had to ask again to have it removed - once pointed out they quickly fixed it and verified everything was okay - but we really should not have had to ask a second or third time and then ask for an item to be removed from the table.“

“The food here is absolutely delicious and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. I can't recommend this little gem in the Lakeside neighborhood enough. Reasonable prices as well as many menu choices. Do yourself a favor and go there and sample everything, you will be very glad you did.“

“I recently celebrated my birthday at Kiln SF, and it was truly unforgettable. We indulged in their 20-course tasting menu, which was a culinary journey from start to finish. Each course was beautifully presented, thoughtfully explained, and absolutely delicious; an experience that went far beyond just a meal.

What really stood out was the level of detail and personalization. At the end of the evening, the staff surprised me with a Polaroid photo of my husband and I, and a customized menu with our name’s and celebration printed on it. It felt so special and added such a personal touch to the celebration.

The atmosphere was intimate yet lively, with Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Kid Cudi, and similar artists playing softly in the background, creating such a cool and personal vibe that elevated the entire evening. The service was impeccable, and every bite showcased the creativity and passion of the kitchen. Kiln SF exceeded all expectations and made my birthday feel incredibly memorable.

“Amazing wine bar—we stumbled upon it absolutely randomly and just loved the atmosphere at first glance. We tried 4 different wines, and all of them were excellent. The crab cakes and focaccia were good too. I highly recommend this place for its nice and quiet atmosphere and good wine choices.“
