“iI you are looking for a fun atmosphere with yummy food and drinks, this is your place. This was our impromtu date night and we will be back. We had riesling, beer, spicy chicken wings, garlic noodles, and the yummiest over baked and glazed brussels sprouts. To top it off, we ordered the bread pudding cream brulee and I must say the flavors of the vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, chocolate, and creme brulee all melts in your mouth. get ready for a party 🥳 in your mouth. Let’s start with the firebird .. amazing sweet and spicy taste with big nice pickles to maintain the heat overall recommend this sandwich . The Cali Dip was delicious sweet and so much flavor I’d have to say one of the best “Tortas” I ever ate . The fries are the best !!! Sauces are so yummy. Everything was about $47 but SO WORTH IT!“

Syd, the owner, is truly one of a kind. Every time I walk through the doors, I look forward to seeing him. He greets everyone like family and makes you feel genuinely welcome. “We visited Karl Strauss in Rancho Bernardo with a large group for a team outing. It’s definitely a good spot for accommodating big, lively groups — the space has a rustic, casual feel that works well for a boisterous gathering.

The food was decent overall, though the vegetarian options were quite limited, which made choices a bit challenging for some in our group. The beer selection was a highlight — people really enjoyed the variety and different flavor profiles available.

One downside was that the heating seemed limited, which made it a bit uncomfortable during our visit.

Overall, it’s a solid place for large, energetic group outings, especially if you’re going for the beer and social vibe. However, it may not be the best choice if you’re looking for a quiet, cozy dinner conversation.“

“We went here for brunch. We got Turkish eggs, French Toast and Gravlax. Everything was delicious, french toast came with cardamom cream which was deliciously unique.
We had a 10 month baby and they were very accommodating. Very beautiful restaurant with great service and food.“

“I celebrated my birthday at Lilo and as soon as my husband and I walked in, we were led to their beautiful open outdoor space where we had small, tasty appetizers with drinks. After, we walked in, we were seated at the “Chef's table.” I recommend reserving that option at Lilo. The table side dishes were presented next to us with explanations to the amazing dishes. I also really enjoyed the table side presentations of the cocktails made by the staff. All in all, I commend Chef Eric and his staff for their representation of the menu and lively music within the restaurant. I truly encourage going to Lilo as a restaurant to enjoy and make it memorable memories and taste their exquisite food. A “must do” in San Diego.“

“Nine of us had lunch here on a busy Saturday-glad we had reservations! The waitress did a fabulous job taking care of us and all our many requests. The food was excellent as well-the only exception might be the funfetti pancakes, which were a little sweet. My one BIG complaint was the LOUD MUSIC, especially the THUMPING BASS. I asked several times if they could turn down the volume, but no luck. I want to preserve my hearing, and for that reason I will not dine here again.“

“What a great restaurant at the Bernardo Winery. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends for lunch before walking around the cute winery and do some shopping in the boutiques on site.

There are lots of outdoor tables to choose from and most are shaded. It opens at 11am and it was busy soon after. We went on a weekday too.
You can get wines from the tasting room or delicious coffee from Manzanita next door.

You order from the counter and your food will be delivered to your table. Everything we had was delicious though the pizza was a little on the burnt side from the wood fired oven.

Parking: There are two small parking lots and plenty of street parking.“

I added jalapeños but I honestly couldn't tasted them that's how sweet it was. In the description it didn't say it came with caramelized onions it only said onion rings guess I should have asked. Excellent customer service. Nice place to have a drink or just hang out.“

“I had the best breakfast ever. The pancakes are so fluffy and the other food was wonderful. Wish I could have eaten more. I could have definitely shared with my husband, the servings are very generous.
If you are anywhere near Mikki’s, I recommend going here. Even if it’s a little out of the way.“
