Everything is delicious. Sushi is not rushed and should be enjoyed slowly, This not fast food. Service is good, but, when busy might take a little time. They feeling you get when walking is. Kuro is taking you to his world and you need to soak it all in. And Enjoy!!“
“Our go to sushi restaurant in San Marcos!! Their staff treats us well. Always welcoming and happy. We love coming here bc they have the best rolls and our family truly enjoys this place for our sushi family dinner nights!! Our favorite rolls are the Ichiban roll, Twin oaks roll, Ahi Special roll, Chicken of the Sea roll. Oh and the house fried rice we always get as well!! All must try items. “Used to be absolutely in love with Tabu however this last time I went back after years to a new location I've never tried and quality has definitely shifted slightly on the negative side. I still enjoyed my food but the old quality was missing. The staff seemed a little distracted and not on top of the tables. The atmosphere was nice though. I really enjoyed the decor.“

We've tried all the local Sushi restaurants and this is EASILY THE BEST.Today we had a Sashimi combo each, and I had 3 hand salmon rolls.We usually get a large Kirin each and a large sake to share.HUKU's fish is high QUALITY and the rolls are wrapped expertly. Get something with rice if you wanna get full, but if you are a fan of fish the SASHIMI and hand rolls are AMAZING.The COMPETING RESTAURANTS more EXPENSIVE despite the smaller portions and LOWER QUALITY fish. One local competitor has really cheap sake but it's exactly that, CHEAP and harsh.We think this is the "BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK" sushi in the area!“
“Low key some of the best sushi I’ve had in San Diego. The ambiance is nothing special but the sushi is all to die for. The Blackedge and Midori rolls are my favorite and are polar opposites. “This place was so AMAZING! Our server was Alex, and the customer service was fantastic. The chefs and server were both so kind and sweet! I would love to come back! The food was also delicious? “We went in for a birthday celebration and we're seated very quick, which was perfect since we had little kids. Once sat down water was brought immediately and drink orders taken. Very good recommendations from the server to get the love boat for our larger party. Servers were all very nice and responsive to all the request. “I didn't start shopping here until all the inflation hit us, and it has been a miracle place for me. I wish I had shopped here before then. Prices are good and their bulk section is awesome. Hopefully some day they'll get curbside pickup“
“We've been coming to this location occasionally for birthdays and holidays. It's my mother-in-law's favorite place.Service is decent but it really depends on how busy the restaurant is. Sometimes the server is attentive and sometimes the server comes to check in at the beginning and the end for the check. When it's busy, it can get really challenging to get refills or utensils.Our teppanyaki chef has been different almost every time we went but most of them have similar cooking styles.My go-to is their ribeye steak and colossal shrimp combination dinner. Comes with choice of miso or onion soup and a side salad with the ginger carrot dressing as starter and 3 shrimps. We usually get the chicken fried rice over the steamed rice. The in-laws are big fans of the Shotgun Special which gives you 3 proteins - choice of ribeye or filet, lobster tail and choice of shrimp or scallop.It's dinner and a show with some jokes sprinkled here and there, what's not to love? Great option for birthdays, anniversary or just date night. Highly recommend reservations for big parties and for major holidays. They don't seat you until your whole party is present.Food is buttery, savory and served piping hot.They may seat you with others as the tables are intended for 8 seats but sometimes you get lucky - depends on how busy they are.They also serve sushi and hot dishes if you're not in the mood for teppanyaki. We have not tried these options so I can't personally comment.“
