“Have eaten at three of their locations. Two additionally in Vista. Prices are higher by a dollar on lunch and dinner menu here over Vista. Portions are the same Always have enough for a snack later. Absolutely the best Chinese food I’ve eaten in San Diego area, and we have tried dozens of restaurants.Dining room is loud and could be arranged better but it’s the food that you are looking for!!50 dollar bill for dinner for two. No dishes to wash and your belly will be full and happy.“
“Really kind and attentive staff, Great lunch menu, family friendly. Would go againSo to start off with the lunch menu is really legit. You can check the updated photos for pricing. We came in on a Saturday night and they got swamped right after. Our waitress whose name escapes me had a heart tattoo on her chest. So attentive and kept her cool even though she just got absolutely overwhelmed with customers. Checked in on everybody. Was very friendly to my children. The bathrooms were clean. I got the Escondido And would really recommend it. The tuna looked really fresh and my daughter is a huge fan. The chef really hooked us up And gave us a way to my kids delight.. My son got a rainbow roll.Lots of TVs and they had Wi-Fi available as well. Look forward to going again.“
“Love this local Japanese restaurant! I had the Unagi bowl and hubby had the spicey Korean pork entree. Both came with miso soup, and were fresh and tasty. We got tempura vegetables as an appetizer. Husband got a mackerel sushi. It was almost closing time but the service was very good and fast. The server kept checking in with us. This is our go to for Japanese/Korean nearby“
“Sushi rolls, ramen, appetizers, everything is great. The atmosphere is great, casual and family friendly. I consider this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the Escondido area.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian ramen, absolutely delicious.Kid-friendliness: They are kind and patient with kids.“

“Regardless if you eat at the bar or the dining room- the food will be wonderful. I like to get a bar reservation when I'm in the mood for their unique sushi. I'm always treated to the freshest plates and epic service! The dining room is more limited. A three course dinner and an upscale atmosphere. You really can't go wrong. The Market is a place I frequent regularly.“
“My husband and I decided to try this place on a whim since we were in the area. While it is a little on the pricey side, the food is completely worth it. They have the best spicy tuna I have ever had. It wasn't about nuking your taste buds, but a pleasant warmth that enhanced the taste of the tuna. Definitely order the Luna Lemon! We will have to come back because we saw the table next to us order some takoyaki and it looked amazing. I do recommend making reservations for weekend dinner, it was busy there!“
“We were doing errands in the area and I discovered this great sushi place hidden right by some office buildings. This place looks tiny on the outside but is the perfect fit for a nice lunch. The decorations and environment really sets the scene for the sushi. They have a great layout for lunch and a nice menu full of specials and numerous rolls. The waitress was great and had plenty of recommendations. We ordered a few rolls as well as a lunch special for our table. The food prices especially the lunch special offers all come with miso soup, salad, and the prices are great! They cater a lot to the local businesses. The rolls and food were delicious. Highly recommend this place for a perfect lunch and dinner place! Check it out!“
“Best Japanese restaurant in the area! High quality, best tasting, beautiful presentation. Awesome wall sized display with video of locations in Japan make for a lovely ambience.Parking: Use the parking structure just west of the restaurant.“
“Kyodai means Brother. Oh, brother, this spot is on POINT. The service is solid. They don't bother you, you know... Which I find nice. They are busy, but not too busy, which is wonderful. Now, down to the food. I ordered the Sashimi lunch special, and I highly recommend it. The portions of each piece are a good size, fresh and tasty. It comes with a side of rice, house salad, and miso soup. It's such a great deal for a great lunch. Next time, I'll have to stop for dinner. Thanks.“
“Probably the best hidden secret sushi spot in north county. Kuro-san is a excellent chief takes pride in all his creations. Easy to talk to, share a drink or even a good joke. Everything is delicious. Sushi is not rushed and should be enjoyed slowly, This not fast food. Service is good, but, when busy might take a little time. They feeling you get when walking is. Kuro is taking you to his world and you need to soak it all in. And Enjoy!!“
“Our go to sushi restaurant in San Marcos!! Their staff treats us well. Always welcoming and happy. We love coming here bc they have the best rolls and our family truly enjoys this place for our sushi family dinner nights!! Our favorite rolls are the Ichiban roll, Twin oaks roll, Ahi Special roll, Chicken of the Sea roll. Oh and the house fried rice we always get as well!! All must try items. Thank you again to the staff who are wonderful people!“
“I ordered for pickup. I got the chicken pho, fries, and a rainbow roll. I’m very pleased with everything! The only thing I was not expecting was the fries were not plain…they were a little sweet and had fried garlic. Which was absolutely delicious! But I’d specify that on the menu just in case someone isn’t a garlic lover.Thank you! Will come again.“
“Used to be absolutely in love with Tabu however this last time I went back after years to a new location I've never tried and quality has definitely shifted slightly on the negative side. I still enjoyed my food but the old quality was missing. The staff seemed a little distracted and not on top of the tables. The atmosphere was nice though. I really enjoyed the decor.“
“Me and my Dad frequent this spot, he does business at Palomar College. We've tried all the local Sushi restaurants and this is EASILY THE BEST.Today we had a Sashimi combo each, and I had 3 hand salmon rolls. We usually get a large Kirin each and a large sake to share.HUKU's fish is high QUALITY and the rolls are wrapped expertly. Get something with rice if you wanna get full, but if you are a fan of fish the SASHIMI and hand rolls are AMAZING.The COMPETING RESTAURANTS more EXPENSIVE despite the smaller portions and LOWER QUALITY fish. One local competitor has really cheap sake but it's exactly that, CHEAP and harsh. We think this is the "BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK" sushi in the area!“
“The food is solid here, and we love coming before or after a movie. The service was great, they were very attentive. I had a Philly Roll and a Salmon Roll with crunchies added. Didn't love the crunchies it was a little too much. Next time I will just order without it, as I was trying to do something different. My hubby got a spicy mutha roll and spicy edamame and loved both. My kid got the OG ramen with all the toppings in the side except for the noodles. He like the broth but didn't finish all his noodles, but he's six.The ambiance is pretty middle of the road sushi joint. Clean, and spacious. It does have a few TV's so you won't miss the game if you are into sports. We come here quite a bit when we come up here for shopping or movies so will definitely be back.“
“Low key some of the best sushi I’ve had in San Diego. The ambiance is nothing special but the sushi is all to die for. The Blackedge and Midori rolls are my favorite and are polar opposites. Can’t beat Blackened Tuna ! Our Server Naelani was super helpful and guided our choices! Thanks to the whole teamVegetarian options: Cucumber and tofu optionsParking: Free parking in the lotKid-friendliness: Super family oriented restaurantWheelchair accessibility: Roll up access“
“This place was so AMAZING! Our server was Alex, and the customer service was fantastic. The chefs and server were both so kind and sweet! I would love to come back! The food was also delicious? We ordered King Crab Roll, Bulgogi Bowl with Rice, and Hangry Roll. Everything was so fresh and so flavorful! I definitely recommend this restaurant because of its perfect and tasty food, but also because of the kind customer service, and sweet, cozy environment!?? “
“Such a great dining experience for sushi and sashimi. The fish is so fresh and the rolls are so unique, you will not be disappointed! My wife and I came here and we were provided with quick professional service while also getting recommendations that exceeded our expectations! I highly recommend this place and we will be back!“
“We went in for a birthday celebration and we're seated very quick, which was perfect since we had little kids. Once sat down water was brought immediately and drink orders taken. Very good recommendations from the server to get the love boat for our larger party. Servers were all very nice and responsive to all the request. Thank you for making the birthday easy.Kid-friendliness: Brought 4 kids in range from 8 to 17.“
“What really sends this place to 5 stars is the price you get here. The food is good, above average, but not the best you can get. However, it's probably the best food you can get at that price anywhere in the county. If you like eel, get the Unagi donburi!“
“This sushi spot is a great option for a speedy lunch or casual dinner. Their hour's are great: even opeb in-between L & D! They won't blow your mind w/ culinary innovation, but you get fresh, decent sushi in a clean & friendly atmosphere. The miso soup was a satisfying starter, hitting the spot with its savory warmth. The tempura was a bit standard but the gyoza pulled up their rating, but all still enjoyable. The sushi rolls were fresh BUT a little underl-constructed, nice choices. The the service & convenience are the best. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everything came out quickly. Plus, with a good selection of draft and bottled beers, it's was a relaxing and hassle-free experience.Overall, this restaurant won't be your next special occasion destination, but it's a reliable choice for a quick and tasty sushi fix. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the mood for a no-fuss, fresh meal.“
“Awesome diverse menu with some great Happy Hour specials. The Cold Ramen is excellent and not on many Ramen shop menus. Some unique, fun and funky sushi rolls, and best of all the prices are competitive. Staff was friendly and attentive. We had an enjoyable family dinner here, definitely a hidden gem. Highly Recommended!Vegetarian options: Vegan Ramen options!“
“I never know quite how to rate something like this. You know you’re not in Vegas. So a buffet isn’t going to be good food. But it’s pretty decent. What you’d expect. Service is good. Comfortable, reasonably priced for younger folk with big appetites. Been there a few times.“
“Favorite sushi place. Sad to say the old All you can eat is NO more. Sad.Prices have gotten to where not the value once was. high quality and fun atmosphere. Kids ok. Groups ok. Busy most weekends expect 30 min wait on Friday and Saturday. Beers ok. Good tea. Used to have Kama (cheek), now sometimes have it some not..Something for everyone, traditional sashimi (try smoked salmon), cooked or raw rolls, good hot options too.Since COVID hit have some new staff and service sometimes is a little less than used to be.Still great food. Miss the AYCE !!Parking: Tight spaces and can be hard if have big vehicles, park at the end.“
“I didn't start shopping here until all the inflation hit us, and it has been a miracle place for me. I wish I had shopped here before then. Prices are good and their bulk section is awesome. Hopefully some day they'll get curbside pickup“
“We've been coming to this location occasionally for birthdays and holidays. It's my mother-in-law's favorite place.Service is decent but it really depends on how busy the restaurant is. Sometimes the server is attentive and sometimes the server comes to check in at the beginning and the end for the check. When it's busy, it can get really challenging to get refills or utensils. Our teppanyaki chef has been different almost every time we went but most of them have similar cooking styles. My go-to is their ribeye steak and colossal shrimp combination dinner. Comes with choice of miso or onion soup and a side salad with the ginger carrot dressing as starter and 3 shrimps. We usually get the chicken fried rice over the steamed rice. The in-laws are big fans of the Shotgun Special which gives you 3 proteins - choice of ribeye or filet, lobster tail and choice of shrimp or scallop. It's dinner and a show with some jokes sprinkled here and there, what's not to love? Great option for birthdays, anniversary or just date night. Highly recommend reservations for big parties and for major holidays. They don't seat you until your whole party is present.Food is buttery, savory and served piping hot. They may seat you with others as the tables are intended for 8 seats but sometimes you get lucky - depends on how busy they are. They also serve sushi and hot dishes if you're not in the mood for teppanyaki. We have not tried these options so I can't personally comment.“
“I like that this place isn't very busy so service and food is very fast. I get like a shrimp lover type of roll here. It's pretty good. Their kama salmon is pretty good. They have some deals on the menu but you don't save that much. I'd say their appetizers are good and the sushi us decent.“
“Eating sushi here was an exceptional experience! The restaurant had a fantastic selection of rolls and specialties. The salmon, yellowtail, and tuna hand rolls were especially amazing, each bursting with flavor and freshness. It was definitely a memorable dining experience. The service by Matilda, was amazing and the chef was fast and amazing.“
“All the food we had was delicious. We ordered chicken kaarage and short ribs for appetizers which tastes amazing, and then for the main course, I ordered the yaki udon, which tasted phenomenal. If you're not the biggest fan of pickled ginger, I would recommend getting it on the side, but other than that, everything was delicious and the service was super quick for a fresh delicious meal.“
