“What a find! On our way to international SFO flight, stopped in San Mateo and were delighted by the food, ambience and especially the hosts at La Ronda. The small touches like the crisp tablecloths and napkins, the warm welcome ... and then there's the food. Warm bread served with tasty butter and jalapeno sauce followed by the calamari and lomo saltado. Topped off by arroz con leche. What a beautiful late lunch. Thank you La Ronda for a fun food experience. We will make it a point to return.“

“We had an absolutely lovely experience here! Came for my boyfriend’s birthday, everyone was friendly and attentive. Fantastic high end ambience. The food was almost too beautiful to eat and every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. One of our guests said it was the best spaghetti he had ever had! The mushroom risotto was perfection. I had the Chilean sea bass and WOW! The salmon was also amazing. The other two guests had roasted chicken and hangar steak… I didn’t get to try them but they looked amazing and everyone cleaned their plate even though we were full lol! We will absolutely be back. Cash only. Small parking lot. Family owned and operated. The carne asada is delicious! Actually I haven’t had a bad meal here. Take away is available. You won't be disappointed . Skip the la cumbre and pancho villa. Come get the best!“

“Ordered California Super Nachos with Cabeza to go ($13.68 after tax), which came with free chips. I will say the fries weren't crispy and the guacamole is watery, but this was phenomenal. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and it came with all three salsas which were great (the spicy one is no joke though). The phone orders cut out a lot and it can be a bit hard if you don't speak Spanish, but just try to speak clearly and it will be fine. Really freaking good stuff for the price point.“

“Great food, the people are very nice!“

“The staff are very generous with their portions. Even when buying a small bowl, they get as much salmon as they can with each scoop they add to your bowl. Ultimately the quantity you get from a $18-$22 bowl is massive, especially for a poke place.

Not to mention the house salmon is delicious, and their sauce game is on point. Always get at least 3 sauces!“

“This restaurant has Beijing-style local dishes hard to find anywhere else, and for that, I have to give their food high marks. The jianbing (weekend only) is simple and authentic, and we got some other breakfast items (糖火烧 is hard to find and tastes like the ones my mom makes, but sweeter). The shredded pork with bean sauce (京酱肉丝) has been one of my favorites in the past but the flavor is a bit off this time, more like standard Chinese restaurant shredded pork with perhaps not enough sweet bean paste.

Service is extremely friendly and generous. We have a whole meal leftover for the price of one.“

“My family and I have been going to this place for decades. When my niece and nephew were little, they moved away to Asia. But every single time they’d come back to visit Grandmas, they always requested to go there for their first meal after landing. They’d even ordered enchilada sauce to go. Freeze it and take it back on the airplane with them.

Speaking of their grandma, who did not like any western food, ended up liking their foods. Their price stay reasonable and the owner and his staffs were always nice.

Now that the little shopping center is to be closed for new development, I hope they’ll find a near by place and continue to provide authentic Mexican food for the community. We need to continue to support small businesses like them.“

“The food was authentic, very affordable prices compared to other dim sum spots in San Mateo. I arrived at 12pm and there were plenty of seats, but the place quickly filled up afterward. There are two menus. I don't know why. I would grab both because some things I usually get are in the other menu.“

“I have eaten at this restaurant for years since 1995. I worked close by so I would go for their lunch buffet at least twice a week. I love Indian food. I have tried many Indian restaurants over the years and this is my favorite, top notch! I have tried most items in their menu a la carte as well when I’ve been there for dinner. Yesterday I visited again since I moved out of the Bay Area and their bengan bharta continues to be my very favorite of all restaurants I’ve tried over the years. The ambiance is great, the music fabulous and the owners are very friendly and helpful. They had another location in Livermore which sadly was closed. It was equally good!“

“We met friends and 6 of us shared family style meal. My favorites were fried rice with salted fish and chicken, Buddha's delight and combination chow mein. The other items were fine but I like more sauce to noodles especially chow fun. Service was nice and efficient. The pork belly took a while to cook, I think I like a thinner cut but that is my preference. It was flavorful and had nice texture.“
