“Had just arrived in San Francisco, and hit the road heading to Sonoma for a wedding this weekend. Looking for a place to have lunch and we found Avatars on line. So, we decided to try it, and we are glad we did. Our meals were cooked fresh to order and they were delicious! Friendly staff and a place we will fondly remember and look forward to trying again on our next trip out here!!“

“Easily our favourite restaurant in San Francisco! We always bring our family and friends here. They have the most delicious, fresh and innovative dishes here. And their service is great! We love the pork chop, Cornish hen, and lamb roti. We love everything on the menu really. Highly recommend!“

“The food was a great mix of Latin and Cantonese flavors. It brought back many childhood memories of Chinese food in Northern Mexico while growing up. The owner was extremely warm and welcoming in sharing her cuisine that is from her home and heart.“

“I’m so in love with peking duck in here. So delicious and does not have any duck smell at all. The skin is crunchy and meat is juicy. I really recommend this 🥰 I really like the way Ling served us today, she is so sweet, kind and take care good my service dog.“

“To be honest. The food was not that great, but it is good. I will say 8 out of 10. But ..... Why I gave five stars, because their staff especially the host/server, it was an asian man, he was veryyyyyyyy serving. He gave smiles, serve very well, really warm welcoming. That's the service needed in F&B industry !!!! Very good.
Plus, i went there on monday and turned out it's a free drink day. So i bought chicken basil and crispy veggies roll. Very good food, and the best part yet to come. I love spicy food, so I asked if they have chilli powder, the server told me they have chilli paste. When he brought it to me, he warn me its very spicy. And guess what? Exactly the spicy level I wanted and its very rare to get this green chilli paste like that here in the States. I love it !! Thank you !!!“

“The dumplings are really tasty. The interior and overall atmosphere are great.
I felt that it was a bit overpriced, and they have only one toilet with a constant line(hence 4 stars).
I can recommend if you not planning to use their bathroom.“

“The food here is absolutely delicious - beautifully presented, fresh, interesting. The sushi burritos are great - but the rolls are really special, particularly the Toro Roll. And the beef potsticker are excellent! So thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood.“

“Chicken Tikka Masala (in a bowl, with white rice instead of brown) - The chicken could have stayed on the grill for an extra minute or two. The Tikka Masala curry was phenomenal - had the right spices, perfect amount of tomato sauce, and quite strong! The curry was contrasted with a white yogurt raita, which contrasted quite well with the umami-ness and the curry. Love the mints and cilantro, made it look very refreshing. The marinated and pickled cucumbers, I felt, had hints of sesame oil.
The pickled cabbages were a great addition to its refreshing dish. Overall, it was a great balance of the strong flavors of the curry and yogurt, and keeping the refreshing profile of the dish.
*I have had this multiple times. The pickling of the cabbage can be inconsistent. The white rice can sometimes be too soggy. The curry was pretty consistent throughout.
FINAL REMARKS: Would come here again for the aforementioned dish.“

“Finally after what feels like multiple attempts, I got to try Senor Sisig's vegan menu at their Ferry Building location. I'm happy that they've incorporated the vegano menu into all their brick and mortars. I had to try their Vegano Tosilog Burrito, with your choice of vegan protein, garlic adobo rice, tomatoes, and Just Egg scramble. I went with their vegan chicken which I'm sure was seasoned seitan and let me tell you, it works. The sweet and saltiness you'd normally find in pork was captured in their chicken. All the ingredients meshed well together and combined with some vinegar for dip, was absolutely delicious. Although busy, I'd try to snag a table outside in their dedicated seating area. You get wonderful views of the bay while enjoying some great food. Thank you Senor Sisig and I hate your presence remains inside the Ferry Building for years to come.“

“Love their buffet style service! The place is a You-Choose-What-You-Eat and pay by pound restaurant. They have great selection of both vegetarian and meat options. I also saw sushi and spring rolls, which both are my favorite.
They also have the options to choose from their bento boxes if you don’t know what to get.
Will definitely come back to support!
Vegetarian options: You can go full vegetarian as your choice.
Wheelchair accessibility: They have elevators in the building.“

“How could we have not gone to Piglet & Co earlier? I have no idea. The only thing I can think of is the location. We typically turn onto Mission Street a half block after Piglet & Co - thereby missing an incredible restaurant. The food was incredible - we could have eaten everything on the menu. As we were heading to the Alamo for a movie, that was the only thing that constrained our food choices - how much could we eat in an hour. Definitely worth multiple visits in the future!!“

“Best fast casual Japanese food in the city! Ever since visiting Japan at the beginning of last year, I haven’t been able to find any casual Japanese food I really like in California until this place. I got the custom bowl with eel, imitation crab, and teriyaki tofu for protein and a mixed base of salad and rice. It was super satisfying for dinner on a rainy day, and I felt full but not heavy. The portion size was just right, and the ingredients were fresh and yummy.“

“While this spot is generally considered one of the best Thai spots in the city, I found it to be a bit over rated. Service was just ok and the food was disappointing. The beef curry was good but not as good as it should be considering the price. The beef wasn’t as tender as it should be and the curry was mismatched with fats and spices, generally a bit flat on flavor. Scallops were very good and had subtle Thai flavors that meshed very well with the scallop’s natural flavor. Fried chicken was my least favorite and completely not worth it. I’m not sure what happened here but very little expected flavor and zero exciting or inspiring flavor. Bland is best to describe.
Wine selection was very good. Presentation was beautiful for each dish. Seems like something potential changed, or maybe it was just the day after Valentine’s Day and the team had enough.
Kid-friendliness: Yes.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“

“Mashita Galbi Jjim, located on Polk Street in San Francisco, is a cozy Korean eatery known for its signature dish, the galbi jjim (braised short ribs). This dish, priced at $66, is a standout. It features tender short ribs served in a bubbling pot, accompanied by carrots, tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes), and a melted cheese topping caramelized with a blowtorch. It’s hearty and perfect for sharing, as one order easily feeds three to four people. The plump mandu (dumplings) are also recommended as a complementary side dish.
The atmosphere is informal, making it a great spot for casual dinners. However, the restaurant’s popularity can result in wait times, particularly during peak hours, such as evenings and weekends. Some patrons have noted slower service during busy periods but praised the staff's friendly demeanor despite being overwhelmed. The interior is compact but comfortable, with simple yet functional decor.
Mashita Galbi Jjim is praised for its authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. Other menu options include pork tonkatsu and beef plates, but the galbi jjim remains the star. For those seeking a satisfying, shareable meal with bold Korean flavors, this restaurant is a solid choice. If planning to visit during dinner hours, arriving early or expecting a wait is advised.
While some diners have commented on service challenges during peak times, the generous portions and flavorful dishes make it a must-visit for fans of Korean cuisine.“
“Wako was surely one of, if not, the finest sushi dinner I've had in San Francisco. Just exquisite fish, flavors, and presentation. The appetizers and surrounding dishes of the Omikase were very excellent as well. But if you just want the sushi, the sushi tasting is a better value. You get the same number of pieces of sushi for less money.“

Offers a prix fixed value menu of three entres, with soup and rice ... serves people easily. Dine in or take out. Too bad it's closed Tuesdays but... you gotta take a break. Love this place.“

“Wow. Benu takes Asian cuisine to a whole new level. There are flavors from Chinese, Japanese and Korean food that is amazing. I am not a huge fan of quail, but wow. The quail presented was so delicious.
The small bites were perfect to get you in mood the for wonderful bigger plates. The vegetarian substitutions could have been a little more inspired, but still tasty.
I agree with decor. It is very minimalist, which is unexpected for find dining.
The staff were very very attentive. It was great. For the wine pairing though, they would be a little more generous so that the bites fit the drinks.“

“Went here for the bottomless brunch ($22 for bottomless per person). The drinks were good and the food was good too (at least 3 vegan options — 10/10 RECOMMEND THE VEGAN FRENH TOAST!). Service was good initially but they became stingy and didnt even fill the carafe at the end. Overall good experience. They auto gratuity 20% and we tipped on top of that but something to keep in mind. The place itself is relatively small and quite busy so definitely recommend getting a reservation“

“I think the location just opened at @SFO International Terminal G and what a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast. We had their Brunch Box with pork, 2 fried eggs, small salad, spicy fish sauce and rice…all for $10.99! “Loved this place. Really enjoyed the food and the kindness of the workers. The meal is healthy, affordable, and filling. Most of the time I find that healthy food comes in very small portions and I don’t get full. And most fast food is super unhealthy. I’ll definitely be ordering again!“

“Going to bansang has been a topic of discussion between us for the past six months. I’m actually never getting over this meal
Mulwhe noodles were recommended by the waiter and they were the perfect first bite. I really enjoyed the spicy sauce and the banchan that they plopped on top. Normally not a fan of cold noodles but I ate this up
Uni scallop toast was phenomenal. Bread was soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside, and the oceanic flavor from the uni, scallops, and seaweed puree was a nice punch in the face.
I liked the Korean twist on the steak tartare — Asian pear and sesame oil! It’s paired with seaweed which further brought out the flavors
Kimchi fried rice 😻😻😻 best dish. Best thing my mouth has ever experienced. So spicy, lots of meat, omg. Everyone deserves to eat this at least once in their life
I also loved the gochujang black cod. Incredibly tender and a bit sweet from the sauces
Miso marinated pork would’ve been even better if we weren’t on the verge of combustion. But regardless we still agreed that it was a really great dish for being the mid meat that is pork.
All the deserts were just wow. My fav was the pear sorbet 🍐“

“My partner told me about this place after seeing buzz about it on TikTok. We both wanted to try it and so we dined in on a Friday night. The restaurant offers outdoor heated seating, but we opted for indoors since we brought our baby. Fortunately, the wait was not too long because it sure turned frigid fast.
As other reviewers mentioned the restaurant is quite cozy. They also have a communal high table. We were seated near the window with a high chair. We ordered the frozen beer, potstickers, chicken karaage, maguro bowl and mentai spaghetti for dinner. For dessert we had the apple tart and the Hokkaido cheesecake.
We loved the cheesecake and the spaghetti. While the other dishes were solid, the spaghetti and the cheesecake were the stars! Looking forward to coming back to try the champignon pasta.“

“Great place with a lovely patio, it's expensive of course but they give you value for the money too in the form of delicious dumplings and related delicious food. “An absolute gem! The food here is nothing short of divine, bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. We sat on the sunny outdoor patio, which was the perfect setting for a leisurely lunch. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, adding to the warm, welcoming vibe. We ordered the Pad Thai and Green Curry both were balanced and satisfying. A chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc rounded out the meal perfectly. Can’t wait to come back!“
