“Yes yes, another Country/Chicken Fried Steak breakfast 😋 this time at the mom & pop shop Sunny Side Cafe in Seal Beach. They took over a defunct Denny's and are making it their own.

They served some of the darkest orange egg yolks I've yet to see at a diner/cafe. Super dark orange eggs yolks usually signify the hen had a diet rich in carotenoids, which are pigments found in plants like marigolds, alfalfa, and other foraged foods. They were deliciously sticky. And instead of a toast option, they bring you a homemade biscuit, halved, then griddled on the cut side (nice touch) and served with heavily cinnamoned whipped butter.

The stand out for me were the hash browns, nicely crispy yet tender within and I'm fairly certain they were flat topped using clarified butter. They were incredibly delicious just on their own.

Friendly service rounded out a very nice meal. It's barley 10 min from home so I'll definitely be back.“

“One particularly hot night my mom and I searched, “Best Gelato near me” and the top result was Mangiamo! After eating the gelato 3 times in a row, we can definitely say that title is well earned! The Double Chocolate flavor is for sure the best chocolate flavored Gelato in the whole state of California; not to mention it’s totally authentic too! I went in the afternoon and there was a steady flow of customers, but at the same time it was chill in the back where I had a lunch meeting.

“I’ve been to this location several times, and they consistently deliver. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and with the newly remodeled bar, it’s the perfect spot to hang out and sip on something good.

Their breakfast selection is solid. I always go for the avocado toast, it’s a favorite of mine, especially because they bake their own bread. It’s so fresh and flavorful! This time, I also tried the seasonal banana matcha latte. It was a bit on the sweet side for me, but still enjoyable.

My boyfriend ordered the buttermilk biscuit & egg sandwich and a vanilla latte both were a hit. They also have an impressive coffee selection and several locations to choose from, which is a bonus. The staff is always friendly and efficient, making the experience even better.

We love coming here, but a quick pro tip: try to avoid Sundays if you’re looking for a peaceful coffee moment. They share a door with the church next door, and once that door opens, brace yourself for a flood of people. Still love this place but not when I’m sipping in a sea of chaos. Lol.“

“I was craving cheesecake so I made my husband get me some from here because the reviews. I wouldn't say it's the best I've had but it's good. Got the strawberry crunch and the banana. The banana was a lil too sweet for me and the cinnamon on it was too much for me. Overall it's good but not the best like ppl say here.“

“This place has become a favorite because they do two things good; coffee and pastries. The most impeccable combo food, other than ketchup fries. Service was quick and easy they make their own pastries, which is rare for a coffee shop. Bear signature menu is creative and executed well. I went in one of my basic B cookie butter latte ended up getting something else. Mango cold brew. Wow. Two flavor that can meld so nice so nice. mixing the drink so you don’t have the code foam with the ice“

I get the chorizo w/egg he gets the ham w/egg. Everything taste good the bolillo taste good on its own. Plus we recently tried there Guatemalan breakfast everything on that plate was amazing. “I had a Jasmine milk tea 75% sweet for myself. It’s slightly sweeter for my preference. The milk tea is good. Boba is chewy on the soft side. Decent place for a boba drink.

I got other drinks for my friends, all 75% sweet and all my friends said their drinks are sweeter than expect.

So just so you know this place is sweeter than most other places. I would recommend 50% for best taste.“

“I have visited this place about 4 times. at first I just wanted a snack since I was waiting for my clothes to wash at the laundry matt. Since the girl that helped me ( Andy?) was so polite and recommended a few things, I decided to come back.

1) the place was nice and clean
2) The cashier was friendly and patient
3) the drink was straight out mouth watering ( horchata latte)
4) omg the sandwich that I order was not only made fast but nicely wrapped for me, but the flavors made me dance in my seat.

“Long overdue review here. Been coming as a local for about 5 years and this spot NEVER disappoints. The food is always full of flavor from burgers, to chorizo tacos, to the pancakes and scrambles. The fries have a great texture and the butter...yes the butter on the pancakes kicks it up a notch or 2. Even their salsas are delish. BUT what's really amazing is the staff! Everyone is so nice and kind. It really feels like a local family owned spot in a small town. And the staff seem to love working their as I have seen the same faces for years...there's even dishes named after a few.

I would recommend this as the best breakfast / lunch cafe in Long Beach.“

“Simone is amazing….so friendly and welcoming, she really makes you feel at home. All the food was delicious! The pancakes (not pictured) were perfectly fluffy and flavorful. We also tried their new Ube crêpes, and they were incredible….just the right amount of sweetness, and the coconut flakes added a nice little crunch. The ambience is great too ….a cool, comfy spot with plenty of patio seating.

I also love that they use alkaline water for their coffee….it tastes so much smoother and less acidic …..and even the water they serve is super refreshing. Overall, the staff is wonderful, and everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommend!“

“7 Leaves is my go-to for milk tea. This place is beautiful when you walk in, absolutely love the theme.

They have a huge variety of flavors for macarons and milk tea, plus lots of other drinks are served too. My favorite is the Taro milk tea.
The drinks and macarons are very flavorful. A lot of other milk tea I have from different places tastes more watery than the tea at 7 Leaves, they do an excellent job with their drinks.

However the macarons are a little bit out of the expected price range, but still worth trying out!

The service is very nice and hardworking, keeping the place clean, and most importantly, having customers leave satisfied!“

I found this tucked away office building cafe that has the most delicious food! It's supposed to just be for those working in this area, but is so delicious (chef used to work at 21 Oceanfront in Newport Beach and always brings his high quality talents to even the most rudimentary lunch choices, elevating the menu to top quality on every item!

I found the place by accident as I came to the area having lost my glasses in the parking lot when they fell out my lap going to an appointment there, and the restaurant owner, Jasmine, took extra time during her busy lunch schedule to call both building security and mgmt to see if she could help me find them )she did!) and so I stayed to order lunch while there. My simple tuna salad was made with high end albacore tuna, finely diced onions and fresh dill! Not what I expected at all. They were so nice and helpful and I watched as food was delivered to my diner on my right, and the most delicious plate of Feta Fries and bacons and oregano w/hand filled paninis arrived!! Mouthwatering fare in this tiny jewel box of an elegant, small eatery! If you are in the area you can order everything from breakfast to lunch to gourmet salads, coffees and drinks and even have them cater

“Well I have never eaten there or have bought any drinks there, i've just gone in there to get ice for our drinks. They are the most nicest, considerate, and caring staff who work there that serve the drinks and food. I do tip for the ice at least fifty cents or more per cup, one of the servers told me firmly, that I ldo not have to tip. I really wanted to tip though. but I honored his serious words.
