“Lively interior dining room with counter ordering. Food was fresh & delicious. The Sonoran flour pancakes and maple syrup made a delicious pair with more character than your typical pancake stack. The oatmeal was decadent and delicious!
Parking: Park in the public lot slightly north and across the street.“

“I’ve had delicious meals and friendly service in this corner cafe in downtown Sierra Madre. The minestrone and tomato basil soups taste freshly made and are served with panini grilled vegan bread. The Vegan Delight smoothie is quite tasty, made with almond milk, banana, spinach and PB Fit. I took a bite of my husband’s Caribbean Panini made with vegan chicken and vegan provolone and enjoyed the combination of flavors. Sometimes they have vegan pastries from Homeboy Industries. The prices are reasonable, the restaurant very clean and the service has always been friendly. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu items that are vegan.“

“Best coffee shop for miles - everything about jpeg is first-rate. The baristas are serious coffee pros, and the drinks they make are among the best I’ve had. They roast on-site of course, and the variety and quality of the beans guarantees your next bag of jpeg will be yet another new adventure. We are Lucky to have them here in town.“

“Republik Coffee is as solid as it gets. It has good food, good coffee, and a good ambiance, which makes it a great hang out spot. The breakfast burrito, an almond danish, and a hazelnut cappuccino. It's not a large breakfast burrito, but I felt like all off the ingredients were good quality. The danish was good, and the cappuccino was solid as well.“

“Let me just say I recently discovered this secret little gem. I enjoyed the mushroom coffee drink. I felt great after I drank it. I also ordered another café late and it was good too. It's at a gas station in north Pasadena in the back. The owner is a delight and excited to talk about his coffee. He is a coffee afficionado for sure. I will be back.“

“I ordered an iced pumpkin latte with almond milk and my husband went with an iced blueberry with hemp milk. Both were absolutely delicious. Not overwhelmingly sweet which was nice. Can’t wait to go back. The girls at the front counter were both very nice. Coffee shop is so cute with limited indoor and plenty of outdoor seating.“

“This review is years overdue. Been coming here for years. Hands down my favorite coffee in LA. They roast their own beans on site and the coffee is divine. One of the first places I ever found to offer every type of dairy, lactose free and nondairy options. Parking is rough but always worth it.

“I stopped by this corner cafe on a whim and ordered an almond milk latte – it was smooth, rich, and exactly what I needed. While I was enjoying my drink near the window, a squirrel on the exterior ledge caught my eye. This little guy seemed oddly interested in my coffee break and kept peering in like we were old friends catching up. It made for a good laugh and somehow added to the charm of the place. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a surprise squirrel encounter – I’ll definitely be back.“

“Guys I literally thought some of the photos must be fake... they're not. I got exquisite latte art (good coffee too!), beautiful plates of delicious food. I have no idea why this place only has 88 reviews, but the 4.8 stars is accurate! On top of that, it's a very cute location. Please try out Old Town Caffe!
We got the Salmon Bagel, Sweet Latte, Ube Frozen drink, and Egg Avocado Toast and they all exceeded expectations :)“

“Visit for lunch or Dinner. If you're lucky, you might have live music on a friday night. On to the food - Gourmet Carribean is a must try! the oxtails, jerk chicken, curry chicken, chick peas and the Friday special, Jerk Salmon. Everything I've tried is delicious. There's a small baker on the other side and I love their Ube cookies! I Highly recommend visiting Blossom Market. Located on the San Gabriel Mission Properties.“

“Need a perfect spot to chill x coffee? Cielo is the place. It's a new and spacious coffee shop in the heart of San Marino. Its Latin inspired menu and perfectly brewed coffee drinks makes it a good addition to the neighborhood. Similarly, they offer wine and beer for customers. And a free wifi.
The UNIT B's former two vendors were also coffee business shops - sadly they didn't last that long. Hopefully with Cielo would last longer. I came early Sunday morning to try their breakfast: chicken pesto sandwich and cafe de olla. Food was good and coffee was perfectly brewed. Prices seem fair. Staff was professional. Service was on point. Street parking and a rear parking lot are available.
Overall, it a chill coffee shop.“

“?☕️ Easily some of the best gluten free donuts I’ve ever had! I have been a guinea pig of all things g-free for the last 15 years, so I can state confidently that the donuts I had yesterday are some of the most delicious, and tasty G-free treats I’ve had. The cherry on top was the amazing service. I didn’t catch the guys named that helped, but he was so pleasant, attentive and just seemed genuinely happy to serve, and that means a lot to me. Keep up the amazing work HYW! You’re my families new go-to spot!!! ???

“This place is so special! Aside from the delicious drinks and pastries, there is a warm feeling of community here. You can tell that the employees care about their customers beyond just knowing their names and usual orders. People here talk with each other and it’s a lively atmosphere that only comes from the familiarity from being part of a community. Love this place!“

“These are some tasty chicken and rice meals and refreshing, sweet drinks!
I was in the area for lunch when I came across Burd Chicken Rice. The menu and reviews intrigued me and made me hungry. Most of the menu featured dark meat chicken, and the Lemongrass Burrito caught my eye. I placed my order, which arrived at our table in a few minutes. The burrito had a delicious and clean flavor. The chicken was tender, the rice was nicely seasoned, and the veggies added a fresh texture. The ginger scallion sauce added a punch of acidity that complimented it well.
My friend enjoyed his Mix Burd Plate, which included classic and lemongrass chicken. After our meal, I decided to try the Cane Passion drink for the drive home. It was refreshing and sweet.
It was my first time here, and it was a pleasant experience with friendly staff and clean dining areas. I hope to return to the area to try more items or get that burrito again!“
“There is a restaurant here called Pa Pa Walk! Sam the owner and his brother are a few of his employees. They are very nice. There is usually a line out the door. Make sure you sign in on the form hanging outside!Seating: A bit cramped, but its busy.
Parking: Cramped, but there is a lot downstairs. Don't park in Hotel parking.Service: When I am there I ususally get a water pretty quickly. They might not be the best at followup but if you are enjoying your food and DESSERT then you will be fine.Food: They serve Taiwanese foods like shaved ice, boba, slush, teas, coffee, popcorn chicken, stinky tofu, leek bun, coffin bread (with cream soup inside), dumplings, chicken/pork chop rice, sausage rice, fried rice, noodles, and they just recently added hot-pot to their menu. I also like their beef noodle soup!I love their mango shaved ice when it is in season. Their fluff ice is just fabulous!“

“Honestly, I'm so glad they carved up the old 皇都(Superco) into a separate space and turned one of those spaces into a tea shop. I'm also glad that these guys aren't afraid to let you use their Wi-Fi. Most places can be stingy with that.
Drinks here aren't anything special, but it's on par with your run-of-the-mill boba places.“

“I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Kindness & Mischief on our interview date. Don’t let adorably compact storefronts fool you, because in the case of Kindness & Mischief, you really won’t understand why it’s one of Highland Park’s beloved coffeeshops until you take the chance to step inside. In an instant, you will be enveloped in the warmth of the fresh scent of roasted coffee as well as an obvious sense of community that spans from the ‘Mischief Library’ at the store’s entrance its patrons to its staff. Barstool-style tables give visitors a chance to meet someone new in their neighborhood, while bistro sets line its brick walls provide an intimate experience for duos and busy bees alike. A fun addition to the shop comes in the form is a dainty reading nook-like perch at the front of the store, in which its windows peer out to the two tables outside as well as being able to engage in a fun people watching session. In terms of their menu, Kindness & Mischief does their best to provide a menu that’s comprised of classic coffee favorites, choices for tea-lovers, seasonal and house specials (such as the Kindness Latte), and options for those who *gasp* might not want a caffeinated beverage. They also strive to introduce customers to yummy pastries provided by local bakeries like Creme Caramel LA and The Caffeinated Kitchen, which include vegan options so everyone can enjoy something scrumptious. A menu highlight for me, and anyone who may need or prefer milk alternatives, is the fact that they do not charge extra for a substitute, which normally costs at least $1 everywhere else. Its attention to menu options really shows the shop’s dedication to fulfill every type of customer’s needs, and as a coffee lover, entices me to want to come back again and again.“

“I had a tooth that was giving me the worst pain over the weekend. I called on Monday early afternoon and was able to be seen the same day. Crystal the dental assistant was great! She told me Dr. Ramirez would make sure I didn’t feel any pain. I ended up having to have 2 teeth extracted and with no pain at all. I have a new Dental office! Great job ladies 😁“

“Decent sized coffee shop with a couple of indoor and outdoor seating options. The outside is pet friendly. There is free wifi but it can be slow. I would not rely on it to get a lot of computer with done. However if you can work offline or have a hot spot it can be a very nice place to get work done. No plugs available.
The coffee is good and strong. I enjoy the Mexican hot chocolate and mocha Mexicano. It is usually good but today tasted a little burnt.
Parking: Street parking available only. It can be a hit or a miss“

“Nice vibes, convenient location with easy parking, beautiful decor. Service was lacking, but understand there is a labor shortage right now, perhaps that's to blame here. Bodega sando was perfection! Pastries were alright...most looked better than they tasted. I'd say they were good but not great.“

“GREAT food!!!! They're fairly new, so I hope they don't compromise on flavor later down the line. First, I had their small chicken katsu box. The second time, I had their new sweet chili shrimp katsu, and that was even better!!!!! Employees are always so friendly and for the quality of the food the price and turnaround time is worth it. Highly recommend“

“I've really been into teas lately and actually prefer it over something like milk tea or anything with some kind of dairy. I really was looking forward to trying their Honey lemon green tea with green tea jelly. I have never heard of any other place that has the green tea jelly and was definitely unique for sure. I also tried the Osmanthus lemon tea with lychee jelly and this was definitely unique and you can really taste the quality. It does have a distinct flavor so you either like it or you don't. As for the honey lemon tea, i think next time I'm gonna ask for less sweet cuz it was a little too lemony for me but overall would get it again. They are very thorough when it comes to cleaning too, I watched them clean each drink nicely before sending it to the customer.“

“Hiatus= opportunity for another stop in the LAtte tour. Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“
