Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“

“This might have been the best coffee I've had in years and I like a good cup of coffee if you've read any of my other reviews i get very irritated at places that charge a lot of money for bad coffee and this place made the best half calf iced latte that I have ever had plus they bring in French pastry that is really excellent so I thought it was perfect and it's extraordinarily simple bear walls bear concrete floor chairs and tables I mean it is a perfect coffee shop nice music playing the vibe it was retro and I loved it“

“This was the first time my wife and I had been to this coffee shop. I loved the atmosphere, very quiet and chill. The iced latte was spot on. My wife and I shared an avocado toast which was fantastic, never thought to put cucumber on the toast with a strawberry but it paired well. The toast did take 30 minutes to get to us. I had to go to the to the register and ask about it. I was told that the cook never received the order due to there being no paper in their machine. It happens so no biggie. My only advice would be maybe to have offered a free coffee or some compensation for waiting so long. Overall though, this place was fantastic and I would return!“

“What an absolute gem of a find! I visited for the first time today—and to my absolute delight, just five minutes from my home, I found a real maritozzo con panna that transported me straight back to Rome! You have no idea how happy this made me.
If I could, I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars! If I may humbly offer one tiny, respectful suggestion from a passionate Roman heart: try making the cream (la panna) completely unsweetened. In Rome, we keep the whipped cream unsweetened because the light dusting of powdered sugar on top and the soft, sweet brioche bun already provide the perfect amount of sweetness.
At first glance, unsweetened cream might feel like it's missing something, but I promise you, it creates such a delicious balance that people will end up ordering two! Back home, I can easily polish off two in one sitting, whereas here I was full after one just from the extra sugar rush. (And you will save money on the sugar saved !)

“I had a tooth that was giving me the worst pain over the weekend. I called on Monday early afternoon and was able to be seen the same day. Crystal the dental assistant was great! She told me Dr. Ramirez would make sure I didn’t feel any pain. I ended up having to have 2 teeth extracted and with no pain at all. I have a new Dental office! Great job ladies 😁“

“Ginger's Corner Market is an absolute gem in Pasadena! Its incredible location, unique charm, stellar customer service and fire menu to match its definitely a must stop when in town!

It doesn't matter what you select you wont be disappointed! Trust me, I've almost had EVERYTHING ON THE MENU!! The wedge is a delight with caramelized bacon to drool for, or the classic Cobb you can never go wrong with. My personal favorite is the ham n brie sandwich which is an incredible palate pleaser with both sweet and savory in one!

“I went back to Caffeineicide in Lincoln Heights to try their 6 oz milk drink again, this time served in glass and made with Passenger Coffee’s washed Bhadra from India.

The standout was once again the milk integration. The texture was smooth, creamy, and cohesive, with a body that held its structure from the first sip to the last. Having it served in glass made it much easier to see what was happening throughout the drink, the espresso and milk stayed well integrated as the level went down, leaving a smooth, consistent coating along the glass without becoming overly foamy or noticeably separating.

Visually, it was also very well executed. The surface had a nice gloss with clean latte art, and the texture remained stable throughout the entire 6 oz drink. On my previous visit, I was impressed by how well the drink held together even in a paper cup, but having it in glass this time really showcased the quality of the milk texturing and integration.

The washed Bhadra from Passenger was also an interesting choice for milk. With notes of citrus, black tea, and stone fruit, it brought a cleaner and brighter character to the drink while still maintaining enough body and balance to work well with the milk.

Caffeineicide may operate as an outdoor pop-up, but the level of care and technical execution continues to stand out. After trying their 6 oz milk drink multiple times and now finally having it in glass, I’m even more impressed with how consistently they’re able to maintain texture, integration, and structure throughout the entire drink.“

I discovered Jones in the early 2000’s during business trips to Pasadena. Through the years it became a must have visit, even during family trips. Leading the way is Rafael. He’s calm and welcoming and his presence is felt every where. In fact, during a 2021 visit he spotted my family and me, came over to greet us, and fondly recalled my children who he hadn’t seen in close to 8 years. “This coffee is one of the best coffees I’ve had. The salted date cold foam was incredible, with such a great balance of slightly sweet and salty. The sesame cortado was also great, with a strong nuttiness and potency you don’t always find in every sesame coffee drink. Highly highly recommend this little gem in Monterey park!“

“Great spot! My mom is celiac and it’s rare (like never happens!) that she can find a gf donut. This spot is dedicated gluten free and she was soooo stoked to visit Hello Yr Welcome twice during her recent visit to LA. We got 3 donuts her first time in and 1/2 dozen the second (bc she loved them so much). They were all very flavorful and delicious!

Staff is super friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. Oh and the coffee is great. I got some delicious espresso / good flavor and not bitter - they know how to pull a shot ☕

Worth getting here early as they do tend to sell out of some flavors by afternoon. We found there’s plenty of street parking in the surrounding area, even on the weekends.

“I stopped by Yin Yang Tea today for a Spam Wrap, and as always, it was delicious! Their teas are amazing, and the boba is always fresh—hands down some of the best around.

I also want to give a special shoutout to the owner. I see her almost every morning with her two little babies, and I truly admire her dedication and work ethic. Running a business is challenging on its own, and doing it while caring for two young children is incredible. She always greets customers with kindness and keeps the quality of her drinks and food consistent.

“Stopped by on my way to work for my first visit, and I’m officially hooked! Found easy street parking right out front and ordered using the kiosk inside. It has a small interior and there were a few customers inside, however the worker was very quick with all our orders! I got a tiramisu iced latte, a matcha pastry, and a ham & cheese croissant sandwich, all three for just $8! You can’t beat that price point, especially given the quality. The coffee had a distinct tiramisu flavor, the pastry was perfectly balanced, and the sandwich was warm and crispy. Definitely going back!“

“My new favorite coffee place! The Pear Jasmine latte is perfectly sweet and refreshing. Upon first sip, it's so smooth and creamy (chose to get both signature and pear Jasmine latte with oat milk). Very small and cute coffee shop that I'll visit again!

“Taking us by surprise as the coffee shop seemed to be Indonesian from some posts we saw. Then we spotted they had Gula Aren Latte on the menu, which was basically Indonesian’s term for Brown/Palm Sugar and indeed commonly used sweetener for iced coffee there.

Being around the area, we stopped by to grab a cup. It’s a pretty calm spot to chill and even work as the background noise wasn’t overly loud. We got their signature Gula Aren Latte and Matcha Matcha cloud.

The first iconic drink did live up our expectation with great coffee taste and strong brown sugar flavor. We also loved their house cream top as it just served the right sweetness and thickness.

The Matcha did impress me being bold and umami, and going all out with matcha cream top was certainly great choice.

It was pleasantful premier experience and we’d definitely call out for repeating visits!“

“Absolutely phenomenal 👏 from the breakfast, to the brunch, to the fried chicken, and the lattes. The rosemary latte had an earthy and aromatic taste, and not earthy in an overwhelming way either. The coconut Cloud Mango Matcha works in ways I never thought possible and is as light as the cloud in it's name. The double mocha was overwhelmingly chocolaty as advertised and my wife was ecstatic by that in itself so if you love chocolate try that one. The French Toast was DIVINE, the only time I ever believe I've had a French toast that didnt need any syrup, it was super buttermilk smooth. The bulgogi was a bit on the dry end, the kimchi it came with however was incredibly well seasoned, and the rice was nothing to scoff at. The Namu plate was overwhelming and large, worth the 19 dollars because even I, a large man, had trouble finishing it even though I was sharing with my wife and Sister, from the sausage to the crispy kale, and the mushroom eggs, everything complimented itself well.
And Finally, the Korean Fried Chicken. A 11/10 alone. Flavorful, sweet, spicy, I honestly felt high just eating it and I'm 10 years sober. I'm coming back, my family is coming back, if you read all this you need to go and see for yourself because words alone don't do this cafe justice. I want everyone to go so it can stay in business because chicken this good can't go to waste 🥲 if this review brings long wait times I could care less because as long as the care and quality they put into their food stays, so will I“

“This was my first time at Yia Caffe, and I’ll definitely be returning. I tried the horchata latte (light sweetness) and it was just right for my liking, along with a tamal de mole.

The outdoor patio has lots of shade and seating, even though it looks small from the outside.

“This spot is a local gem! Extremely delicious and authentic Indo food in our neighborhood. We tried the Kwe Tia’s Goreng which is similar to pad see ew and Perkedel which is like a potato fritter, but our favorite was the Nasi Bungkus, which was a sampling of different curries on top of rice paired with fried chicken. It was so delicious, and the sambals on the side were really spicy, which was a nice surprise! The chef was very welcoming and friendly, and there is tons of space in the dining room to sit down and eat. I’ll definitely be coming back for takeout and try the noodle dishes!“
