I also enjoy getting Korean BBQ meats in the South El Monte City or a nice hot meal at the Daikokuya Japanese Ramen place on Garvey. I noticed that a lot of people in Korean Town over in Los Angeles were starting to purchase up commercial real estate and launch businesses in South El Monte. In a recent merger and acquisition of a major grocery store business chain in South El Monte, it had become Korean owned as well and started to add many awesome products such as canned boba drinks. South El Monte is one of the most vibrant, diverse, and sweet pockets of hidden gem Asian foods in California and the San Gabriel Valley. When I go to school on the East Coast, I really miss it.“

“When I first arrived to this restaurant, I didn’t see any other diners and was quite hesitant. But soon enough they proved my ‘pre-thoughts’ wrong.
Definitely one of the best Vietnamese home cooked meals at a restaurant in the area. The flavour is so authentic that can transport you back to the Southern of Vietnam (mien Tay) in a bite. We ordered the lunch set for family and cannot fault a thing. It came with canh chua, ca chien, goi tom thit, ca kho, bap cai chua. Flavour was mouth watering and all very good value for money. This is such a hidden gem. Highly recommend!“
