“We stopped by Hai Cha for boba tea after visiting the museum. The owner greeted us right away as we walked through the door. He's super friendly and he was very welcoming. We got Hai Cha special milk tea with boba. Waffle was boba. Yogurt smoothie and mango smoothie. The size of the smoothies were huge. We enjoyed our food.“

But there’s plenty of street parking all around. I usually get their fresh jaded green mountain tea with black and white boba. I like almost all their drinks and the aesthetic vibes of the cafe. “Came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. And ordering was very easy since you do it through a QR code but you can also ask for a menu and order that way as well. Food came within 10 to 15 minutes and everything was very hot and fresh. The meat pies were really hot and filled with yummy juices. The scallion pancakes were very very yummy. I highly recommend getting the cucumbers. Service was decent but don't be expecting conversations from these ladies. They bring you your food and that's about it. I can't wait to come back and the prices are so worth it.“

“Chapresso is a tiny boba tea shop in San Marino. They have breadth selection of fruit teas and milk tea boba. And it is the only tea shop in this upper middle class city. I came to grab a hot Jasmine Pekoe Green tea which is a high-quality tea leaves , often younger leaves with fine hair (pekoe). Its flavor was smooth, mellow, slightly sweet, with fresh fruity undertones.

Prices were fair. Staff and service were cordial and on spot, respectively. Indoor and outdoor seats were very limited.

Overall, I liked my tea at Chapresso. I highly recommend them.“

“This is really good! Despite the name, I think some of their best drinks are actually the taro ones. The drinks have fresh taro paste with taro balls. I especially recommend the taro mochi drink. Really delicious. The mochi is soft, not too sweet, and has a milky taste. They have a tablet to order at. The parking lot is a chaotic mess but you can easily find street parking nearby.“

📩 Boba boba! I had the chance to try out @bengong and it was super delicious!

We ordered:

I think the best Asian compliment you can get for dessert is the “not so sweet,” from your aunties, and this was definitely what it was giving.

The sweetest drink by far was the Mango Mochi which was served as a slush. It was super refreshing and a good pick me up drink for a hot day.

The tea lattes were also very good and are definitely a good option for less sweet items. My personal favorite between the lattes had to be the peach latte which was super refreshing and a good study drink!

Environment is also a good place to study and chill at, but definitely on the smaller side 📚🙇‍♀️📖

“Not sure if that was a tea place for me. Firstly, it was really sweet. Even though you can choose your own preference of sweetness ( I chose 50%) my tea tasted overly sweet. I got the fruit tea. A different and distinct flavor from other fruit teas I’ve had. Both drinks tasted heavy on sweetness despite the level being 50% and other 25% . However, I would give this place another try since the flavors were distinct and the place was neat and clean.

It is a self serve and not to hang out tea place. So just order and go.“

“Recommended to us by a local restaurant owner, we took a drive over to try them out. They have an amazing fresh fruit selection (including persimmon, which I hadn’t seen before) like strawberry and watermelon (which is one of my favorites).

We like them so much we’ve made the 20 minute drive several times already during our short stay. The drinks seem to run a little sweet so I make the less sugar option. They seem to automatically add a jelly to the drink (at least the several we’ve ordered).

South El Monte is also home to a lot of Taiwanese boba supplies companies and import so that makes people who start boba shop businesses in the South El Monte an easy access to the materials and that makes it all thrive. When I am not getting the 7Leaves down the street in South El Monte, I would come here to study Mandarin or work on software engineering projects remotely. I think South El Monte has a thriving community of Asian and boba drink lovers. Hello Boba adds another great addition to that one. “This is My son and I favorite go to spot for boba drinks.. he always gets the oreo with oreo bits slush with mini boba . I either get the taro slush or Thai tea slush with also mini boba .. soo good .. They also have several kids menu options which are great for a smaller 16 oz drink instead of the normal 22 oz. They’re located at the entrance of a food court in a shared plaza with a super market and other stores, so there’s enough shared lot parking.“

“This place got some new drinks. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their new choco strawberry frosty and strawberry Hokkaido milk tea to try. The frosty had an icy, rich, deeply chocolatey base with a creamy, tangy, cheesey strawberry foam. Legit a desert drink. My fave was definitely the strawberry Hokkaido milk tea tho. Very floral, milky, and sweet, with plenty of jiggly strawberry jellies. Overall these were lowkey pretty good.
