“This is a cafe on the Stanford campus that many people visit. I think there are many systems where you can order food by a certain time and pick it up using an app or something else without ordering directly. There are a lot of varieties and it seems like a good place to spend time in front of the librarian. However, I took off one star because it was the worst iced coffee I had in the US. I think it would be better to use it because of its accessibility rather than expecting it to taste good.“

“As usual, Ramen Nagi has a long wait. Sometimes there are lulls in the line, which is when I happened to get in. The line is outside, so be prepared for the weather. When you get close to the front, they give you a sheet to fill out on what you want. I got the squid ink with everything the usual except with lower sodium and a 4 on spice. I should have asked for more spice, 4 was not that spicy! I also like the thick noodles, the thin ones are a little too thin. The meat on the top of the squid ink ramen was scrumptious!!

“I’ve been a huge fan of Craft Roots for 5 years and visit the restaurant in Morgan Hill every time I’m nearby that area. They recently decided to try a “ghost kitchen” model in Sunnyvale. “I really enjoyed my Friday morning visit around 10 a.m. There was about a 5-minute wait, a short line, and all the chairs were taken, lots of people standing around and the space was loud and crowded. I was meeting a friend, and even in the bustle we were able to have a wonderful conversation. By about 10:30, the crowd thinned out, and we found a table to enjoy not just our conversation but also some delicious coffee.

“I have to say, I’ve had quite a journey when it comes to my opinion of this place.

The fact of the matter is that I have found the following to hold true:

1. Redwood City is far away from everything
2. The parking situation is abysmal
3. There is never a table ready when you get there
4. The food is expensive

For these reasons I used to avoid going there- not because of the food quality but it wasn’t worth going there in lieu all these things.

That being said, their meat is great, the vibes are great, and their service is great. Their beef kofta is sublime, and I have to say their falafel isn’t too bad either. They also have a pretty good frozen date juice that I enjoyed.

If you don’t mind the 4 things I listed (I am personally starting to care less and less about them in lieu of the amazing food), definitely go. This is probably the best Arab food I’ve had in the Bay Area.“
