“Boba options are plentiful and there are several food options as well. I live their tomato and pesto sandwich, but you'll have to be aware that it takes time for the food to be made. Every time I order food, it takes about 20 minutes to almost an hour sometimes to get the food.
If you're able to call in advance for pickup, I'm not sure if it will be any faster. I typically order the teas without boba since it's already quite sweet (and delicious). Would recommend if you want to study or do your work here. It's a lot quieter than Starbucks, unless people are talking.“

“Staff was not helpful, not friendly and not welcoming. They didn't even welcome us when we walked in. They didn't ask if we were good once we had the food. They were not helpful in explaining the menu as a first time customer. When I questioned the menu, I got short responses with attitude. The place was great, my kids loved it but the staff not so great.“

“I’ve been on a Taiwanese food binge lately and have been searching everywhere for some good, authentic Taiwanese dishes. This little mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot really hit the mark. The food tastes just like what I’d expect from back home or from the night markets in Taiwan.

I tried the stinky tofu (a must-have for any true Taiwanese food lover), the pork chop rice, and a few other dishes—and every bite was delicious, flavorful, and comforting. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the seasoning is on point.

The owners are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience feel even more like you’re visiting family. The restaurant shares a plaza with other shops, so there’s plenty of parking available, which is a big plus.

A couple of tips: it’s best to bring cash, as not everything is set up for cards. Also, they do have a restroom on site, which is always nice for a small place like this.

Overall, this is the kind of spot you want to keep coming back to—and the kind of hidden gem you almost don’t want to share so it stays special. Definitely one of my new go-to Taiwanese comfort food spots!“

“Came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. And ordering was very easy since you do it through a QR code but you can also ask for a menu and order that way as well. Food came within 10 to 15 minutes and everything was very hot and fresh. The meat pies were really hot and filled with yummy juices. The scallion pancakes were very very yummy. I highly recommend getting the cucumbers. Service was decent but don't be expecting conversations from these ladies. They bring you your food and that's about it. My family found a new boba place that actually accommodate everybody drinking favorite. I don’t have to drive to Rowland Heights for Half And Half then go to West Covina for BYOB and OneZo. They also have fries, onion rings, and cheese sticks. Love the plain cheese sticks, only thing missing is the marinara sauce. They give ranch but I don't like their ranch. It tastes weird. “El Monte doesn’t have too many good boba spots, but Ono Tea House is a decent option. Prices here are a little lower than most places, which is nice.

The tea itself is just okay — not super strong — and the drinks can lean on the sweeter side. I usually order mine with 1/4 sugar since I don’t like them too sweet.

Overall, it’s not a spot I’d go out of my way for, but if you’re in El Monte and really craving boba, it does the job.“

📩 Boba boba! I had the chance to try out @bengong and it was super delicious!

We ordered:

I think the best Asian compliment you can get for dessert is the “not so sweet,” from your aunties, and this was definitely what it was giving.

The sweetest drink by far was the Mango Mochi which was served as a slush. It was super refreshing and a good pick me up drink for a hot day.

The tea lattes were also very good and are definitely a good option for less sweet items. My personal favorite between the lattes had to be the peach latte which was super refreshing and a good study drink!

Environment is also a good place to study and chill at, but definitely on the smaller side 📚🙇‍♀️📖

South El Monte is also home to a lot of Taiwanese boba supplies companies and import so that makes people who start boba shop businesses in the South El Monte an easy access to the materials and that makes it all thrive. “I have been trying various milk tea places in the area to find a place that would cater milk tea for my upcoming wedding. My wife could not have the wedding without having milk tea served to the guests. My wife and I tried the champ milk tea here and decided that this place was the one. Their portions are much larger than other shops, and the tea flavor is pronounced and not covered by sugar/milk. The manager, Ryan, was super helpful in preparing our bulk order for the wedding, and it was a major hit during our wedding. The boba tea was absolutely amazing. I got the strawberry milk boba tea, and I loved it. It was so cheap too, especially with the toppings I added. I got it with coffee jelly, boba, pudding, and it tasted so good. It also tasted like there was actual strawberry in there and not just strawberry flavoring. Had some strawberry bits in it too. I can’t believe how cheap it was, ($6.50) for a large boba with three toppings. Was also pretty fast too.“

Their cheesy fruit smoothie is one of the greatest drink I ever had. Perfect sweetness, ice cold and somehow it just feels like burst of freshness and flavors melting in your mouth. One of the negative though is the long wait time, there wasn’t much people ahead of me, but I had to wait about 20-30 minutes before I could get my order.“

“Delicious boba drinks. I’ve visited this location several times and the employees are always efficient, but the prices have been rising similar to other tea places in LA. Two options to order: at two self-service kiosks or with a worker at the register. I recommend the Oreo brûlée boba milk which was $6.95. They also have several kids menu options which are great for a smaller 16 oz drink instead of the normal 22 oz. They’re located at the entrance of a food court in a shared plaza with a super market and other stores, so there’s enough shared lot parking.“
