“This is for the tasting room AND the Advent calendar from 2023.Tasting room - the woman who runs it is very experienced and we enjoyed chatting with her as she explained a variety of wines to us. There were some really delicious ones we had. One thing I found totally obnoxious and unhelpful were the descriptions of the wine. No joke - these were some descriptions. I was cringing so hard reading them.“Like a pair of silky red pajamas”“Like going on a 2nd date”They are trying too hard here to seem cool and it was embarrassing how useless the descriptions were. We are paying for wine, please describe it. This is not a creative writing class. Thank goodness the lady who ran the tasting room was there to give us further explanation about the actual flavor, aromatics or profile we should expect when tasting. She agreed the written descriptions were not as helpful as they could be but it was not her decision. We seriously would not have tried any of the wines just based on those descriptions. I had to knock off one star because of this.Advent calendar - was skeptical based on some shipping issues I read from the previous year. I got mine on time and the variety was good! I would say I really enjoyed about 70% and the 30% were interesting/good, not my favorite but cool to try. I would do it again next year.“

“This place is an absolute gem!
The vibe here is super chill and stylish, making it a perfect hangout spot. The staff are incredibly friendly and laid-back, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
The wine selection is top-notch, offering something for every taste, and the whole experience feels upscale without the hefty price tag.
If you’re into great wine and a cool, relaxed environment, Squalo Vino is a must-visit.“

“Wow, Buddy is truly such a gem. If you ever want a delicious meal full of flavors and textures, you gotta go to Buddy!
We sat outside to enjoy the warm San Francisco weather. It was right on the sidewalk with no parklet, but it was fine.
Here’s what we ordered:
- Corn Fritters - pretty tasty, great crunch, while still moist. Pretty corny-tasting, but well-balanced with the creme fraiche and the saltiness of the smoked trout roe.
- Carrots - wonderful crunch and even more delicious seeds and tahini sauce. A must have!
- Smoked whitefish tonnato - strange flavors and texture at first, but it grew on me. Not sure if the crackers added much, but the dish by itself was a fun combo!
- Fried chicken sammy - perfect crunch (sensing a theme?) and wonderful flavor. The bread was buttery and garlicky, and the chicken was moist.
Our waitperson was super attentive and our food was perfectly spaced out time-wise - we had a small table, and they brought out just enough food at any one time to make sure we had room to eat. IMO, deserving of a Michelin!“

“From the velvet ropes to the entrance to the ironwork windows the space felt like a mini vacation from the ordinary. The tumeric latte was a stand-out. Salmon niçoise was delicious — unlike many the potatoes weren't an afterthought in the preparation. Quiche mind-blowingly tender. The staff (including the on-site owners) were so nice I almost felt bad this was only my first visit. This pescetarian could not have been happier with his Sunday brunch.“

“Nice local spot of a great selection of kitchen staples that really can't be found elsewhere in the Mission. Have had several sandwiches here over the past year and had a tasty cheesecake today. Thanks Chris for bringing some flavors to the Mission I remember from my childhood!“

“Great little wine bar with a lovely little back patio area. We came here mid-afternoon on a Sunday with a group of 5 and were seated right away. There were heated seats and warmers around to keep the patio cozy in cool weather. The service was great - our waiter listened to our preferences and picked out a great bottle for the table. We enjoyed the food options too - peppadew pepper poppers stuffed with goat cheese and that were unexpectedly sweet and spicy and vinegary, and a nice meat and cheese board. Would love to try the pistachio feta dip next time I’m visiting!
Vegetarian options: Cheese boards, hummus plates, pepper poppers, deviled eggs, pistachio feta dip, etc.“

“Great spot for happy hour or to grab dinner before an event at Chase Center! Easily my favorite place at Thrive City. We've been in several times: GluGlu has a great rotating wine selection, incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff, a tasty tapas-style menu. The owners are master sommeliers, so all of the wine is on point. Definitely try the patatas bravas, the pan con tomate, and the bocadillo de jamon.“

“First, the good: good wine, knowledgable and friendly staff, yummy snacks!I really want this place to succeed which is why I'm writing some constructive feedback! I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been looking for my cozy neighborhood wine bar to hang out with with a few friends or to read a book. I WANT this to be that place, but after going a few times there are just a few things that don't make me eager to go super often or recommend to friends, but I think they are easy to improve!Areas for improvement:-coziness and seating for smaller parties. The place is tiny and I get that! But the majority of the seating is 2 large tables that seat ~6 people. I guess in theory the tables could be communal but generally wind up seating 1 medium-larger group, so I feel weird grabbing a seat at them. When I show up on my own that means I have to sit at the bar or at one of the window high top stools (which have no back rest). Last time I was there I brought a book and after ~30 mins was getting back pain :( I would've stayed for a second glass of wine but decided to head home instead. A few comfier chairs or smaller tables that seat 2-4 (and could be pushed together for larger parties) would make me a lot more likely to go more often/stay for longer.-in a similar vein, the lighting inside at night is somewhat cold. A little bit warmer/cozier lighting would make the place feel more homey. Again, only sharing this in the hopes that this feedback is helpful! Would love to see this place continue to grow and succeed :)“

“Amazing service. A great diverse menu - from oysters, to Benedict's, to salads. As well as a diverse cocktail, wine and non alchoholic drink menu. We came for brunch but would also come here for dinner too. It was great experience for a group outing.“

“From the moment I walked in the door, the wonderful staff were SUPER attentive and kind. Not only is the space beautiful, I think it’s the attention to detail (and customer) that makes the difference. Thank you so much, Bar Gemini, I’ll definitely be back! Oh and the wine list and playlists are dope.“

“It’s a great bar for your first date; but no one returns to it ; and therefore it’s not a neighborhood bar; but It’s exterior architecture - a transportation hub / station converted to a bar - is startlingly good; but the interior doesn’t create a sense of belonging.Stools are designed to traumatize your posterior; perhaps a short date is best ; the beer and snacks and the service are great but without the neighborly feeling , it’s just another brick in the wall;“

“Been here a few times for drinks or a happy hour and SF Wine Society is a gem. It has a fun bocce court, is well decorated with a sense of atmosphere, and the folks here really know a lot about wine. And as random a compliment as this is to give, the bathroom here is seriously decadent, beautifully designed and fancy??? I think that alone is a testament to the care put into this place. All the food is really delicious so I recommend getting something to go along with your drinks!“

“Great selection of wines and sakes and even some makgeolli. There are a few little snacks and tinned fish, but you probably want to eat elsewhere.
Was there for a very unique Pinot tasting with the distributor and was a great experience.“

“It was the second time we ate here and all the apps., Ceviche, Sikil Pak and Tostones were excellent but the service was not on top of their game as last time even though the place was not full.(not taken to our table but gestured towards it and waiter attention felt rushed) All things considered, still an excellent place for dining.“

“I love palm city, their subs and wine are both great but please please please add the ability to remove ingredients from subs when ordering online due to allergy restrictions. I have an allergy and it’s super limiting to only be able to order in person instead of getting subs to go because I can’t remove the cheese from some subs unless I go in person an wait.“

The owner and his wife make make you feel relaxed and welcome. It’s also a great date spot and the tables are set up for comfort or intimacy if you prefer- it also offers food to go! “I recently hosted my birthday party here and everyone had a fantastic time! Sabrina and team were super welcoming and ran everything so smoothly. We did a flexible set-up with a minimum charged for wine & charcuterie and then cash bar after that, which is ideal for this type of event. This is a great event space for ~20-40 people, would highly recommend!“

“Excellent food. We loved most of the dishes. They were prepared with utmost care and excelled in presentation. We liked most of the dishes - particularly the spreads, bread, and the entrees. The service in general was good, but for a Michelin, we expected a bit better - the door was mostly left open and we felt like we were staring at the streets while having dinner. We suggest anyone who books to ask for better seating during reservation itself.“

“Simply the best service I've ever had.
I left my credit card at the bar and went to the movies across the street at the Presidio theater.
The bartender / server overhead we were going to the movie, came over, found me IN the theater in my seat and returned my card
Who does that??!!!!
Count me in as a loyal customer FOREVER“
“If you do nothing else in San Francisco, do Ecco Terreno. This establishment brings you the Napa food and wine experience without having to go there. I went for the five course (which turned out to be seven) food and wine pairing and was blown away. Hands down the best food and wine I have put in my mouth. Ever. It's a 'Michelin' experience with out the price or pretention. I cannot say enough and will bring my entire family here when we come back in October.“

“Been passing by this restaurant for so many years. Today, I finally decided to try it out for some lunch. It seems as if this location is primary a lounge and the menu doesn't have a lot of choices. Regardless, we ordered a main and two sides and we're very pleased.
It's definitely worth a visit for a simple meal.“

“Beautiful little gem of a wine bar! Lovely service—the owner Ron is super passionate and knowledgable about wine, and cares deeply about making Hotel Biron the best experience it can be. Beautiful local art on the walls too. A cozy, wonderful experience. Good selection of NA drinks as well!“

“We noticed this wine bar in our way to Hayes St, seeing all the packed restaurants (with lines) we turned back around and decided to see what was on offer and Ebb & Flow. What a lovely, friendly wine bar. We ordered wines based on their staff picks (great option), a cheese board, salami, and tuna. The atmosphere was perfect, I’d recommend it for a date or a pre theatre drink and light food. If we’re back in SF again we would definitely return.“

“Loved the Bump Bar. Had an early Valentine's Day and Late Anniversary dinner in Feb 11. Enjoyed sitting at the end of the bar. Hosts and chef were friendly and inviting. Enjoyed learning about the Japanese grill used on the trout and steak dishes (which were delicious) never had potatoes prepared like the potato dish we had that night. Really enjoyed the California Caviar Company house flight of Caviar. We will go back again in the future. Thank you for a great night.“
“Fun place to come hang out with friends and pets when they have an event. I was so happy to find Noel and Purity wines, it's hard to find juicy fun natural wines around the Bay. The wines here are different from most wines. More akin to sour beer or dry cider. Everyone working here is kind and a little eccentric which is a great thing.“

“My gf and I came to the Amy Winehouse Tribute performance a few days ago and we had a blast! I personally loved the atmosphere of this bar. As an Amy Winehouse fan, Vic’s Winehouse did not disappoint. The bar felt cozy and welcoming surrounded by various Amy memorabilia; music, displayed wardrobe, photography, etc. The owner, Victoria, although I only said hi to her and thanked her for her performance (wished I had said more but my anxiety always wins), seems down to earth, funny, and you can tell that she poured her heart and soul into giving us this beautiful space. I want to come here every month to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer. 5+ stars from me. I do hope the beer menu expands at some point but I understand the appeal of keeping the menu small. The cheese plate was delicious! Can’t wait to visit in the next few days!“
“My wife and I return each year on the anniversary of our first meeting at California Wine Merchant. Most recently, the owner Greg, took our photo and gave us a complimentary glass of Champagne to mark the occasion. He’s a great guy and his bar is a great place to meet up with friends, or maybe the love of your life.“
“Love the coffee, atmosphere, customer service, etc. The cafe is always clean and they’re always polite and very accommodating to my extra pumps and caramel My only hope is that one day they’ll get more butter croissants! But don’t get me wrong, they’re trying! They’re ordering extra but they’re in such high demand that they’re going faster than any other danish. So in that case, I guess my hope would be that they’ll one day be able to get enough supply to keep up with the demand! I’ll still forever choose this cafe ?“
“We heard so much about this place, we came over from San Francisco specifically to try it out! What a perfect spot to have a taste of some amazing wines and an array of incredible cheeses and crackers. You walk inside and it’s a little shop with a bar counter on the right. You order what you like and sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view!! I am so looking forward to coming back on my next visit. Make it a point to stop in, you won’t be disappointed!!“
