“This Coffee Bean in Toluca Lake serves excellent drinks and has some of the friendliest staff around. The store could use a bit of remodeling, it feels a little outdated, and parking isn’t the easiest. Still, it’s a reliable and welcoming spot for a quality coffee or tea break.“

“One of my favorite restaurants ever. The meat was seasoned so expertly and was so tender. Mussel toast was INCREDIBLE. Their sourdough was out of this world. Staff was knowledgeable and guided us in trying many interesting wines. This place was amazing!“

But both sandwiches lay on an almost perfect baguette lathered with rich butter. Every ingredient seems to be of top quality that creates a delicious sandwich. “Got egg sando and iced mocha less sweet. Love how egg yolk was not overcooked but overall it was too salty for me. I just ate only eggs and left egg paste and bread because it’s really salty that I couldn’t finish them all. My iced mocha was still too sweet for my taste so I might try no sugar or syrup next time. Very friendly service and nice ambiance.“

“MAKISUPA (est 2024) is Silver Lake's brand new coffee bar located right across the street from Blair's restaurant and adjacent to Camelot School. Their indoor has an atrium-style seating area where staff serve coffee drinks. Its tranquil atmosphere definitely attenuates the stress in your work. It’s my first time here and ordered a Cold Brew. It was perfectly made to my liking.

Service was on point and staff was nice and competent. Prices were very competitive. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a free parking behind the building and surrounding neighborhood.

Overall, I had a good experience and I recommend this coffee bar. I’ll definitely come back.“

“Laveta is a super cute minimalistic cafe located close to echo park lake in Los Angeles. They have their own parking lot, which already is an A+. But since it is a small lot, there is street parking all around. They have really cool inside seating as well as outdoor seating.

They offer coffee, matcha and teas. But let’s not ignore the food they offer, which I highly recommend you try out! I’ve heard the burger is delicious but haven’t tried it because I’m obsessed with their Avacado toast! It’s literally the best Avacado I’ve had! Their coffee is good as well. I’ve had their iced vanilla latte, which you can’t go wrong with. I also enjoyed one of their signature coffee, the laveta.

“Came here with a group of 5 and tasted the tofu donuts and the matcha soft serve!

Good:
- Tofu donut was super unique, I couldn't tell that it was tofu
- The soft serve was amazing- so creamy and not too sweet, and the serving size was large enough for 2 people to share or maybe even 3!

- Long lines! Super popular place so you'll wait about 10 min for your order outside and there's limited seating

“We stopped by DAMO on a whim one Saturday afternoon. Given its popularity, we weren’t surprised by the line. It was so packed that we could barely squeeze to the counter to order. We got the matcha latte and strawberry matcha latte with cream top. I was very impressed that they whisk the matcha in a matcha bowl for every order. The matcha taste is definitely much more defined! A little pricey for a drink but given the effort in each one, I think it’s worth it as an occasional treat. With the crowd, I’d say the place is good for buying something to go, but maybe not for studying.“

The only thing I would change Is the coffee ratios - I think the flat white has too much milk but that's a small point (I don't know what the espresso to milk ratios are in their other drinks). “We had minced pork on rice, beef noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, basil eggplant, pork belly bun, shaved ice and dou hua.
Overall, the food is pretty good. With some fine tunes, it can be closer to the yummy level of food in Taiwan, like some red beans in dessert are still hard, Dou Hua is too dry and needs some liquid or shaved ice to go with it, traditional shaved ice is too sweet though I like it much better than Korean style shaved ice, and brown rice is too hard. Service is good. Staff is nice. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Order at the counter, self service for water, extra bowls and utensils.
