“After a fun-filled day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we passed by Voodoo Donuts on our way back to our car. We popped inside to check it out and ended up leaving with a box of fancy donuts. The shop has a LOT of vibrant pink decor, everywhere you look. But the main draw here are the donuts, of course. Voodoo Donuts has SO many crazy elaborate donuts with just about anything you could want on a donut. Frosting, sprinkles, coconut, peanuts, peanut butter, bananas, cookies, candies, you name it, they got it. They even have one with cayenne pepper and a chili pepper on it. The staff was friendly and very efficient, the long line moved quickly, and we really enjoyed every one of our donuts over the next couple days. If you’re in the Universal Studios Citywalk area, you should definitely check out Voodoo Donuts.“

“Stay away from this hotel! Our experience in one of their rooms left me sick and completely ruined our trip. The room reeked of mold and dust, had poor ventilation, and severely affected my health. It made my breathing difficult, worsened my allergies, and caused lung issues. I spent nights coughing, congested, and unable to sleep. We couldn't adjust the air or heat because the forced air smelled strongly of mold and mildew, leaving us either too cold or too hot. To add to the discomfort, the windows were covered in condensation. I felt sick and exhausted the entire time we were in that room, and it only got worse as time went on. But it wasn't just about the room. We were in town for a comedy festival, excited to attend shows featuring top headliners. However, our anticipation turned into disappointment. I fell ill during the first show, had to leave one early, and missed two entirely. Unfortunately, the tickets were non-transferable with no refunds, resulting in a significant waste of money and missed opportunities for once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Choosing this Hilton seemed logical, being one of the closest hotels to the main venue. However, we were shocked by the low quality of the room, especially considering it was on the executive floor. Although they moved us to a slightly better room on the last day to salvage some sleep before our departure, it was too little, too late. Our entire trip had already been ruined. While most of the hotel staff provided excellent service in the restaurant, at the door, and front desk, the poor quality of the room's environment was not their fault. The only issue we had was with the decision to assign us that room initially, the delay in moving us, and the lack of a refund for the entire stay. We ended up losing both money and experiences due to the room making me sick. Beware! You never know if you'll get a decent room or a sickening one at this hotel @hiltonuniversal“

“My friends and I stopped by this Starbucks in City Walk since we saw on Yelp and Google that they close at 2am. Other Starbucks closes at 8pm or 9pm so we decided to come to City Walk since my friend wanted his coffee. If you're a AMC Stub member then you should use your free ticket to take advantage of not paying full price for parking. This Starbucks location is on the 2nd floor now instead of the 1st floor in its old location. This Starbucks store isn't big, I think it's meant for just people to get their drink and relax outside in their outdoor seating area or to walk around City Walk. My friend got his black coffee and my other friend got the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. They enjoyed their drink but it did take a while to come out when they weren't that busy. When we left the store at 10pm, they started closing their door and said they were closed so we were surprise since we thought they close at 2pm.

Kid-friendliness: This place is kid friendly since it's inside City Walk, you'll just have to go to the second level since this Starbucks store moved.

Parking: You have to pay to park at the parking structure.

Wheelchair accessibility: You can take the elevator to the 2nd floor to get to Starbucks.“

I tried the 'magic latte', and the spice blend is genuinely unique; it's warm and comforting without being too sweet. you can tell they really care about the craft, from the live-whisked matcha to the fact that they roast their own beans. it's the perfect 'third place' to just exist for a while, whether you're catching up on work or just hiding from the city noise. Definitely a must-visit if you appreciate good design and creative coffee.“

“One of my favorite coffee spots in LA. They have great tasting espresso that really comes through in their latte. The shop is cute, stocked with knick-knacks and treats, and the baristas are friendly. I hardly ever have an issue finding convenient parking.“

It's counter service, right on the sidewalk of busy Melrose Ave. No seating other than a bench and a couple of stools to use while you wait for your freshly prepared order.

Parking can be a challenge. We snagged a street spot on Harvard. There's a park nearby with benches and shade if you want somewhere to eat your treats.“

“While traveling in LA, I accidentally discovered a wonderful cafe. Despite the early morning rain, people were lining up outside. (Small space to wait inside)The menu featured several unique drinks not found in typical coffee shops, and they tasted incredible.

Learning that it was a Korean brand made me feel quite proud, and I was delighted to find out they also have a location in New York where I live. I purchased a bag of coffee beans, which came in beautifully designed packaging. I fully intend to visit the New York branch soon. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable visit.“

“I tried something different and tried Hukuju and literally love at first sip. I love that they didn’t pre-sweeten the Matcha. Honestly, I think they really tried to serve matcha as authentically and best possible. The nutty, velvety, cocoa notes were spot on. And it was just so lovely yapping for a couple hours while sipping this drink. And surprisingly, I enjoyed it even more the cooler it got. Warm and room temp with a splash of honey is the way to go.

I also tried their Uji Homare and it was a much more familiar flavor profile to what I was used to but without bitter aftertaste. Just really good flavor

The taste and vibes were immaculate. The staff were kind and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about Matcha talking with the manager especially about their cast iron low boiler.

Unfortunately, the smallest bag of Hukuju was 100mg and I wasn’t ready to drop $70 like that. But luckily they have a similar product in a smaller tin that I was more than happy to take home with me“

“I've been wanting to visit Pam's Coffy for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally had the chance.

At first glance, the whole place feels very Tarantino. Colorful, vintage, obscure movie posters, CRT TVs playing VHSs, and about 50 empty cereal boxes.

The menu leans into that cereal sugary sweetness. We got the banana pudding latte and the captain crunch latte. They were delicious, but definitely more like desserts. On the way out, though, I grabbed a drip coffee, which they keep ready in old-fashioned diner style Bunn carafes, another fitting touch.

The pastry was pretty good, and you can also get bowls of Captain Crunch which is super fun.

If you're a Tarantino fan, or even if you're not and you like dessert-y coffee, er, Coffy - give this place a shot. You'll have a good time.“

I wanted to try the brisket, but they were out so I ended up with the steak sandwich and they were really apologetic and nice about it and even tossed in some extra freebies in my bag. The crispy rice salad starts things off. Each ingredient earns its place with a honey miso dressing that threads it all together. The pizzas are outstanding. They absolutely deserve the spotlight. Thin crust perfection. Crisp edges, restrained cheese, balanced tomato sauce, exactly enough char underneath. Both the classic and pepperoni pies feel disciplined, making it dangerously easy to finish more slices than intended. For the pasta, the rigatoni bolognese brings al dente cooked pasta coated in a layered, rich meat sauce. The ratio of meat to pasta is spot on, making every bite feel substantial without becoming overly dense. Hearty but never excessive. Dessert arrives as a strawberry ricotta cheesecake that somehow feels light. Creamy ricotta filling, fresh strawberries, strawberry sauce. Not too sweet, not too rich.

Companion gets the details right. The room, the music, the pacing, the service, the food. It’s all welcoming and deeply enjoyable.“
