“Sushi Time has officially become our new after-school go-to spot, all thanks to Mimi! From the moment you walk in, she makes you feel like family—so kind, warm, and welcoming, with a sense of humor that instantly brightens your day. She has that rare gift of making you feel seen and cared for, which makes every visit special.
The food? Absolutely delicious. Everything is made fresh to order, with that perfect balance of quality and flavor that keeps us coming back. You can tell a lot of love goes into every dish.
Between Mimi’s amazing energy and the consistently great food, this place is a gem. It’s not just sushi—it’s a whole experience. Highly recommend!“

“My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene. Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine. I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. From the attentive, yet unobtrusive service to the meticulous presentation of the dishes, you can feel the love and dedication that the owners have for their craft. It's this personal touch combined with an "aged" ambience that transforms a meal into an experience. In a world where the genuine essence of Japanese cuisine can sometimes be lost amidst fusion and innovation, Sushi Anza stands as a beacon of tradition and quality. Overall, my first visit here was a nostalgic journey through the very essence of Japanese tradition, guided by the hands of those who know and respect it the most. I cannot recommend Sushi Anza enough and look forward to many more visits. I hope to regain the same authentic warmth, excellence, and quality that hallmarks the culinary gems of Torrance.“

“The staff is very friendly here and the sushi was so fresh and delicious. I ordered 3 salmon rolls that were 4 pieces each and the fish was so rich. I also really loved the extra Hello Panda cookies they threw in which just happened to be my favorite. I will definitely be back for more! They might just be my new favorite sushi spot.“

“I’m and all my family, lots of my friends are regular customers from the first day this place was open in early 2000.. This is the only place I trust and eat raw fish. Gina, managing this restaurant all these years. She knows every one names, food preferences and always treats us very very friendly!
If you want sushi, this is a right place to go to.“

“The Omakase, while a little pricey ($62/per person) was awesome. A nice mixture of of sushi that I would not have ordered myself. The service was quite good and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is a little bland, but also on par for local sushi restaurants. I will be back!“

We ordered too much food and were supposed to be charged for it but the servers were SO kind they only charged us $5 more for a bunch of leftovers we took it all home to our son that couldn’t come with us due to work and he got to eat a bunch of sushi for just $5!!! “I came here with a friend expecting to eat salmon belly sashimi as it one of the only few places in the area that has it. And wow, it didn't disappoint. We were planning to have a plate of salmon belly each, but unfortunately they ran out. Makes sense as it's hard to get. The other dishes we ordered were good as well. The server was nice and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you didn't pay attention to the sign, you would miss this place driving by. I would recommend this place.“

“Ise-Shima is the Japanese restaurant of the Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Torrance, Los Angeles. The main dining room of the hotel restaurant is elegant and spacious. Servers are polite, accommodating, and professional. Although price is not cheap, the Tuna Lunch Special (USD 46) is fresh and delicious.“

“It feels like it’s gotten more expensive over time, but I’ve been coming here for 20 years. It’s one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and I’d be genuinely sad if it ever closed. The staff are always very friendly. While it may not feel particularly modern or spotless, it offers a comforting, homey atmosphere. The food is also consistently delicious.“

“I honestly only docked one star for their ramen we went for my son's birthday as he likes sushi now but they also have other options for food like ramen. Unfortunately the ramen was really boring no flavor really small and they don't offer spice except for chili powder that is not even spicy at all. Other than that the servers were nice. The atmosphere was great and it was amazing to see the little robot and the way the converter belts bring the sushi around and to your table“

“Very accommodating and per usual the food was outstanding. Tables are a little too tightly wound together but if that's the vibe, then it's the vibe. We did get rushed out so that they can seat another table which is understandable but at the same time interrupts the convo that was going on. 🤷🏻♂️“

“Small restaurant selling sushi, rolls, rice bowls, udon, ramen etc at more affordable prices and yet maintaining good quality. Water cups are available if you want to avoid soda drinks. Order at the front counter and food will be served to you at your table but you need to clear your table after you're done. Miso soup is not good though so you can skip that. The serving of the rice bowl and udon is quite small.“

“My family and I went there for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant was full, and we were seated in a private room where you had to take off your shoes to enter. The service was excellent, and the menu featured unique items at reasonable prices. We will definitely return for more.“
