“Very authentic looking Izakaya right in the middle of Torrance. Loved that the beer comes with frosted cold glasses and the atmosphere is super chill. Plates were a little pricey for the size, but everything was fresh and delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.“

“My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene. Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine. I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. From the attentive, yet unobtrusive service to the meticulous presentation of the dishes, you can feel the love and dedication that the owners have for their craft. It's this personal touch combined with an "aged" ambience that transforms a meal into an experience. In a world where the genuine essence of Japanese cuisine can sometimes be lost amidst fusion and innovation, Sushi Anza stands as a beacon of tradition and quality. Overall, my first visit here was a nostalgic journey through the very essence of Japanese tradition, guided by the hands of those who know and respect it the most. I cannot recommend Sushi Anza enough and look forward to many more visits. I hope to regain the same authentic warmth, excellence, and quality that hallmarks the culinary gems of Torrance.“

“The Omakase, while a little pricey ($62/per person) was awesome. A nice mixture of of sushi that I would not have ordered myself. The service was quite good and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is a little bland, but also on par for local sushi restaurants. I will be back!“

“1st timer on this visit and we chose AYCE. The sushi was very fresh, but I had to rate a star less because the rice was too overwhelming in every order. Their prices are very reasonable, but I would rather have the option to pay more for less rice.“

“I’ve been coming to Fusion Sushi since I was a kid, and it will always be one of those places that feels like home. The food has been incredible for as long as I can remember, always fresh and full of flavor. Every visit feels just as special as the last. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and the manager Gina always goes out of her way to make everyone feel cared for. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and it shows in how smoothly everything runs. There’s such a comforting energy here, the kind that keeps you coming back not just for the food, but for the people too. Fusion Sushi has been part of so many memories for me, and I know it always will be.“

“I came here with a friend expecting to eat salmon belly sashimi as it one of the only few places in the area that has it. And wow, it didn't disappoint. We were planning to have a plate of salmon belly each, but unfortunately they ran out. Makes sense as it's hard to get. The other dishes we ordered were good as well. The server was nice and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you didn't pay attention to the sign, you would miss this place driving by. I would recommend this place.“

“Small restaurant selling sushi, rolls, rice bowls, udon, ramen etc at more affordable prices and yet maintaining good quality. Water cups are available if you want to avoid soda drinks. Order at the front counter and food will be served to you at your table but you need to clear your table after you're done. Miso soup is not good though so you can skip that. The serving of the rice bowl and udon is quite small.“

“Ise-Shima is a hidden gem in Torrance!
It’s an authentic Japanese restaurant that offers amazing quality food. I had their seasonal lunch, which was beautifully presented and delicious. Located on the first floor of the Miyako Inn Hybrid Hotel, it has a relaxed and elegant atmosphere with attentive service. There’s plenty of free parking, and it’s definitely a must-visit spot whenever I’m in Torrance.“

“It feels like it’s gotten more expensive over time, but I’ve been coming here for 20 years. It’s one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and I’d be genuinely sad if it ever closed. The staff are always very friendly. While it may not feel particularly modern or spotless, it offers a comforting, homey atmosphere. The food is also consistently delicious.“

“My family and I went there for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant was full, and we were seated in a private room where you had to take off your shoes to enter. The service was excellent, and the menu featured unique items at reasonable prices. We will definitely return for more.“
