“I’ve been struggling to find a decent Tonkatsu, but this one is among the best Ive had in the US. I’m not an expert in Japanese cuisine but I have been to Japan a few times an this place is within striking distance of the average tonkatsus I had there. I’ll be back when I’m in the area“

When I asked for two pairs of chopsticks at the counter, the staff member appeared to ignore me completely. I had to repeat my request twice before she reluctantly looked up and threw the chopsticks at me. The service was disappointing and unnecessarily rude.“

“We had a great experience at our first time visit here. We celebrated my son's birthday and brought in a cake. The food was amazing except for the Alaskan salmon that they substituted from what we originally ordered. They have an all day happy hour on Monday to Thursday. The service was excellent and the servers even sang happy birthday when they brought out the cake. The place was nice and clean and it wasn't crowded when we dined. The only problem was the people on the next table were too loud and there was no wall dividing them to our table so the guy sitting behind my son's girlfriend keeps on bumping into her every time he moved. We will definitely go back here.“

“Overall a solid sushi and omakase spot, but pricey. We did the middle tier omakase and it was a good amount of food. The tempura fish was a highlight for me. I thought the fish was good but nothing mind-blowing, and personally I found the nigiri to have too much rice per piece. Ambiance was good, and the chefs were fun to watch. “The food conveyor belt is efficient & user friendly. The food itself is good, with a few caveats. In the mood for nigiri & sashimi? This is the place to get it conveniently and with good quality. In the mood for rolls that aren’t your basic California/tuna? This place will disappoint. But, they also have great dessert! The yuzu cheesecake is SO good. It’s really only 4 stars because of the rolls being so lackluster. They also only do brown rice which is fine I guess but not preferred.“

It makes me think of my grandmother as this was always a treat me and her would go and get just the two of us and share with no one else. I have had the good fortune to visit Echigo on a number of occasions over quite a few years, it has always been exceptional, Chef is a true master of his craft. It’s a low key place, not fancy, just great sushi and lovely friendly service. Order whatever the chef wants to make for you and enjoy mouthful after mouthful of delicious sushi. I’m looking forward to returning next time I’m in town.“

“Hand roll spot with dry aged fish inside the Citizen Public Market. Came here for dinner with a friend and we both ordered the small set (4 pieces). We were able to replace the lean roll with a different fish. Our server was super nice and we enjoyed our meal. It operates like it’s a sit down spot so you pay after the meal, rather than at the counter like at other stalls in the market.“

“I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is great and the sushi is absolutely amazing — super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every roll we tried was delicious, and you can really tell they care about quality.

The only downside I can mention is the bathrooms. They’re unisex and were veryyy dirty when we visited, which was disappointing compared to how good everything else was.

Other than that, the food alone makes it worth coming back. Definitely recommend for sushi lovers!“

“I’ve never actually eaten here, but I’ve gotten take out and delivery from Minori regularly for years. It’s priced well, always very fresh, and they handle my gluten allergy well, even occasionally providing some tamari for me when I pick up.

I really appreciate the effort they put into the presentation of the sushi even though it’s take out/delivery.

They’ve only messed up my order a couple of times (I’ve ordered from them a lot), and they’re always nice about fixing it.“
