“Mediocre sushi for fair prices.

I had a rainbow roll and miso soup. My total was $14.85 after tax.

The roll wasn't awful. The rice was slightly overcooked, so it was mushy. It also didn't taste like there was any vinegar. The avocado, salmon, and shrimp looked fresh. The miso soup was piping hot. It was hard to open the bowl because the surface was 163°F according to my phone's thermometer. There were a few pieces of tofu and seaweed.

I sat in the dining area, which was pretty clean and can accommodate up to 16 people and a small child comfortably (high-chair available). The restroom was closed when I visited. The music was a mix of Cantonese and Mandarin songs. It's quiet enough for a conversation.

As for the ordering process, you can use a kiosk or order with an employee, then sit down and wait until your number is called.

Everything is packaged to-go. They've gotten rid of their branded packaging and use generic options.“

“We come here about once a month. We enjoy mostly the combination dinners with entree (we get Salmon Teriyaki or mackerel), mixed tempura, California rolls, salad, and miso soup. “Delicious and definitely fulfilled our sushi craving. I highly recommend Pocket Sushi no chopsticks required easy to eat, full of flavor, and so pretty to look at. I stopped by after work to pick up a few different types of pockets, the service was great and the food was fresh and made quickly. I waited no more then ten minutes for them to make my six item order and they brought it out to my car which was also very nice. We will for sure be back for more!“

“My favorite sushi restaurant! I used to drive out to Emeryville to get their sushi. It's delicious and you can taste the freshness. So glad they opened a place closer to home. “This Thai/Lao spot is truly a hidden gem in the Industrial area of Hayward off Highway 92. Fortunately, it's right off the freeway at the Clawiter/Eden Landing and you can spot it along the freeway.

Offering Thai and Lao food with some sushi rolls but I'm here for the Thai/Lao food as I love Nam Khao which is Southeast Asian crispy rice salad (with Lao pork) with plenty of flavor and textures accompanied with peanuts, mint, cilantro and lettuce for wrapping.

Royal Lao does a good one with plenty of bold flavors and heat (I asked for medium). The only comment I have for this dish it wasn't crispy (and not due to take out) so no crunch to it at all...no worries...popped into the air fryer and perfect! 4/5

:: Chicken Larb - ground chicken, herbs like mint, lime and fish sauce and chili with some cucumber and salad. - Flavorful and yummy. 4/5

:: Pork skewer (4) - good and juicy but could've been charred a bit to render some of the fat and get some caramelization from the sugars. Accompanied by a tomato-based sauce 3.5/5

Service friendly and efficient. Spoke to the owner, Noi and she mentioned the place has been there a year. Great option for Thai/Lao in the area as not many unless you go to East Oakland (Champa!) and head to Stockton's Angel Cruz Park.

Highly recommend stopping by. Place has a few tables for dining (no table service) but set up for take out. Pricing in line with similar spots. I'll definitely return to try other items and for the Nem Khao! Thank you Noi!

It was a little confusing how to order. I just grabbed a set bowl they had. I'm not picky about food and I enjoyed every bite.

I do wish the space was cleaner. As a business owner I didn't always have the cleanest spaces and I recognize that in hindsight and this is kind of the thing that even if you didn't want to dine in, sticks out like a sore thumb

That's why often I take photos of my reciept and the bathroom of spaces for my reviews.

The Food - especially their Dinner Special - is great, portion sizes just right, different options and still assembled and delivered to the table within minutes of ordering. And both Nigiri and Sashimi have sizable chunks of Fish and well prepared!

It is busy. We lucked out and had no wait but we did see people have to wait outside after us. The servers are hard to catch because they're busy, but they're good. However the kitchen is forgetful. We ordered gyoza and agedashi tofu. But we had to ask for them 3 times!

Also it's stuffy in the back corner with no AC or air circulation.“

“This sushi restaurant its so good! The deluxe uni handball is SUPER tasty. I could have eaten 50 of them.

We ordered soft shell crab, which was a smaller crab than I am typically used to at ither places, but it still tasted good and had a nice crunchy texture.

The mix tempura was probably the best tempura I've had ever. The texture was light and crispy and not soggy at all (which is very easy for it to get).

Then we ordered chicken udon for our 3 year old, who lodged the noodles and broth.

We ordered the Deluxe sashimi as our main dish and it was absolutely delicious! I loved the ice underneath the radish to keep the sashimi cold (my daughter loved it too and kept eating it).

They gave us edaname beans and green tea ice cream complementary which was nice before abd after the meal.

“Definitely a hidden gem! Got salmon nigiri and Curry Katsu. The salmon slice was thick, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality. Katsu had a nice subtle crisp to it even covered in curry. Beef yaki udon was really really good, Highly recommend and worth it. We will be back :)“

“Stopped by for lunch at 2pm and plenty of seating inside. I used the self order kiosk on the table, which made ordering a breeze. The sushi rolls came out in about 8-10 minutes and they were huge rolls.

I typically eat two, but I coule barely finish these. They were incredibly filling and each roll was less than $12, which is a great deal in 2024. Service was excellentand I really enjoyed the meal. I get work done on my car across the street often, so i'll be stopping by whenever i'm in the area from now on.

Parking: It seems like there are about 12 or so spots, but also plenty of parjing along E.14th in front of the restaurant, as well as the side street which crosses it.

Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of access for wheelchairs.“

“A great Japanese restuarant offering halal hibachi and sushi rolls. Small but cosy ambiance.
Personally love their dinner hibachi (Steak & chicken , steak & beef both). They serve hibachi with a soup and some salad which is great stuff. The spicy tuna rolls and the Californian rolls are worth the treat. I personally feel the hibachi serving should be slightly more but I don’t mind the current serving as well.
What I did not like was yakisoba, it had very less veges. Service overall is great. Must try if you’re looking for halal Japanese good food. However, it’s a bit pricy comparatively.“

Good value bento box…good sized portions and tasty (really enjoyed the salad which had a delicious creamy sesame dressing). “I got lost in the area, and stopped into this place, I wanted so many things, they have salad on such a hot day to deep-fried sushi mexi rolls, with steak or chicken , they offer tons of sauce, I got the house margarita, great poor. Staff was incredible, I am disabled and they helped me with my service dog to the patio. I got the crab tostada it was to die for, and they have a great choice of sauces. Friendly staff got us seated right away and we started with a round of appetizers. Gyoza, chicken karaage and a Toro Nigiri special started off the night and everything was delicious. Food as good, the girl who served me was not warm at all. The moment I walked in she looked confused if she should serve me or not maybe because I was alone.
I loved the food. Green tea ice cream not so much. I wanted a bottle of water to take back to my Airbnb but they didn’t have any which is fine. Our roll was so fresh and the squid balls were hot and yummy! THE RAMEN. Spicy garlic tonkatsu, my oh MY. The broth is so rich, every bite was infused! The perfect balance of spicy and savory!
