“Defrankos was our first stop on our 12 day vacation from Canada. We got off the flyaway and walked down a few blocks with all of our luggage in tow. The staff were incredibly friendly, they gave us such a warm welcome to California… but beyond that the food was AMAZING. We are currently sitting at the airport going over our trip and all 3 of us agreed the very best food we had on this trip were our 3 subs from Defrankos. ❤️

“The price is a little high for a 1 topping large, but when the quality of the cheese, toppings, and sauce are this good, it's worth it.

Especially the pepperoni, I dont know where they got it from, but I wish I had ordered the whole thing pepperoni.

The place is tucked away between a boxing center and Del Taco.

It has a green fake grass outside for people with dogs, and apparently, they donate money to shelters from their profits.

So is buying a pizza since part is donated to charity considered a tax deduction???? Kidding.

The crust is perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, the sauce is rich and flavorful, and the cheese – wow, always melted just right. The layers were perfectly balanced and each bite was full of rich, savory flavors. Let's not forget dessert! We shared a few different things and they were all great. “I asked my husband to find a cute + cozy Italian restaurant for Friday night dinner date, and we found what we wanted and more! Low lighting, but not so low you can’t read the menu. Quiet enough to hear conversation, but not awkward-quiet. And the service was top notch, nothing about the spot was pretentious, and the food was tasty. The owner (or maybe maître d’?) Vasak was so sweet and greeted us with a huge smile. He had us come to the back to taste all of the wines because I didn’t know which one I wanted, and he brought tiramisu on the house at the end of our meal. The whole staff was friendly and fast, and they all seemed to know the guests who walked in—big smiles, hugs, handshakes, “see-you-in-a-couple-weeks”. We got bow tie pasta with pink sauce and their house made gnocchi with pesto cream sauce; perfectly al dente and perfectly salted. I’m going to bring all of my friends!“

We got fresh burrata with dried peppers. It was drizzled with an outstanding olive oil. Our server, Alyssa, was one of the best servers we've ever had and we've travelled and dined globally. Our entrees were spaced perfectly. We started with the raviola. It was presented beautifully. It was exceptional. We also had the cacio e Pepe. Again, delicious and so rich. The final pasta was a ragu. The fresh pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich and meaty. Dessert was a scoop of salted caramel gelato and an espresso, which we turned into the best affogato ever. Cannot recommend this place enough.“

“Few weeks ago I was working nearby and after working few hours we must treat ourselves with a nice meal, and consulting with Google maps I decided to try this spot. I know deli places are famous for the sandwiches but I decided to try a burger and I totally made a great choice, the burger was absolutely delicious, and the best part was that I could choose either French fries or from the salad bar, seen the freshness of salads I decided to had my burger with salad, I had artichokes and tomatoes, they were so delicious that the next day I had to go again for lunch, and the 3rd time myself and another 2 coworker ate from this place , they loved it. Personally I loved that tasty burger with salad, if one day I'm around I hope that day comes soon I'll definitely have to try a sandwich. The place has enough room to enjoy a nice meal prepared at the moment, or either to go, the workers are super friendly and they also have a section of cold drinks.
