“El Chato Taco Truck:
A popular local taco truck known for its authentic, flavorful Mexican street food. The tacos are made with fresh ingredients and bold seasonings, delivering a satisfying punch of flavor in every bite. Favorites include carne asada and al pastor, with generous portions and well-balanced toppings. The vibe is casual and laid-back, perfect for a quick, tasty meal on the go. Great value for money, making it a must-try for taco lovers seeking genuine street-style eats.“

“This was our very first stop in Los Angeles, and honestly, Benny’s Tacos set the bar impossibly high for everything that came after.
The bowl was absolutely surreal, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. But the real showstopper was the burrito. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best burrito I’ve ever had in my life. The combination of pinto beans and carne asada was pure perfection, smoky, tender meat with creamy beans wrapped in every bite. The kind of thing you think about long after you’ve left.
If you’re landing in LA and don’t know where to start, start here. You won’t regret it.“

“This is a great example of how LA street mexican food culture is like.
This place has one of the best pastor tacos in LA. Their meats are well seasoned and are not dry. Their salsas have great flavor and heat.
The lines can be long but it is worth the wait. You just can't beat this place when it comes to taste, quality, and price.“

“A bit late, but I just have to share our incredible experience at La Fonda! We were a group of nine heading to a concert at the Kia Forum, so we already had some challenges—limited time before the show and managing a large group. I was prepared for things to be tricky, but Frances and the team made the entire evening seamless and absolutely stress-free.\n\nFrances was exceptional from the start. Her communication was clear, professional, and prompt, and she handled our group with such ease and expertise. She truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfectly timed for us to enjoy our dinner and make it to the concert without a hitch.\n\nWhen we arrived, the restaurant was bustling (there were other large groups also heading to the Kia Forum), but despite how busy it was, everything ran like clockwork. Our food arrived on time, and every single dish was delicious—every person in our group was impressed. The service was impeccable, even during such a high-pressure, busy time.\n\nParking? No issues at all, which is such a bonus when you’re on a tight schedule. And when it was time to head out, the staff made sure we had clear directions to the Kia Forum, saving us time and hassle.\n\nLa Fonda is now officially our go-to spot for pre-concert dinners! Fantastic food, flawless service, and a team that truly understands how to take care of their guests—even on a hectic night. Highly recommend!“

“This is a go to place for our family. Consistently good. We get takeout more frequently but the times we have eaten there have been nice. There is a little covered patio in the back with more tables. The service is fast and friendly. Love this place!“

“I love this place. I am from Mexico and this place is just perfect, same quality of a good good restaurant in Oaxaca. The hand made Tortillas are the best in Los Angeles, loved the mole, I had the chile relleno, and it was an amazing vegetarian option for me. Service was so warm and friendly. I want to take all my friends to this place so Definitely I will be back!“

“So glad my daughter and I stopped here. We each had breakfast burritos and they were excellent. Not only delicious, but big. We both tried the hot salsa and liked it. The atmosphere was very inviting. The service was the best I've received in a very long time. The server was very attentive and sweet. The cook came out and asked if we were enjoying our meal. He was interested in our feedback. We both decided we would be back even though we don't live in the area. It was definitely worth the effort of finding parking. Don't pass this place up
PS, the cook let us try the birria. That's what I'm ordering next time. Yum“

“A little not-too-out-of-the-way mexican restaurant. Both inside and outside dining at a fair price (remember this is LALA Land). No booze but only a $2 charge to bring your own. Friendly service. We visit santa monica/venice a few times a year and we'll put this place on our return list.“

“Wandered in from the pier after looking at close restaurants with great Google reviews. Oscar made my meal really enjoyable. He made a delicious Oaxacan Old Fashioned (hint: ask for a Tajin rim) and the tacos were delicious. Highly recommend for friendly staff, delicious tacos (although this is NOT a taco place), and yummy drinks!“

“The service is friendly and fast and delightful. My daughter loves their salsa for chips …it’s the only salsa she likes. Service is so sincere and attentive. “We came in on January 1st and there was only one person sitting inside eating. We grabbed some menus and sat down and waited for a short while before someone came in from the back to take our order. Just one guy taking orders and in the kitchen, he was still able to get our food and the food for the few other people who came in after us out really quickly. The food was great, and the guy working was super nice. Come to find out towards the end of our meal that they were not actually open today. He’s there every day and his friend had come by so he let him in to eat and we just happened to get there when the door was unlocked. I (and I overheard the other patrons expressing the same sentiment) was very apologetic but he said it was fine, “I like it” he said. I still feel kind of bad about it but it was also kind of lovely, what a sweet heart.“

“Perhaps the best Al pastor tacos I’ve ever had, inarguably the best I’ve ever been served in a parking lot. The orange sauce is far spicier than you think it’ll be but that shouldn’t inhibit you from pouring it on. The passionfruit juice was a beautiful and refreshing way to recover from the heat! Worth going out of your way for and EXCEPTIONAL bang for your buck“

“I’ve been here twice in last week, and absolutely LOVE the red enchiladas. I’ve been missing the enchiladas back in my hometown and these have the same homemade feel. The chips are incredible, and the mild salsa with cilantro is to die for. Will definitely be making this a frequent stop of mine here in Los Angeles. So happy I found this place, if you’re on the fence about going, go try it!! You won’t be disappointed.“

“I had a great experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to assist, which made the service excellent. Giving tulum vibe tropical. The food was delicious and well presented, with fresh ingredients and rich flavors. The menu offered a good variety of options, and everything we ordered was served on time. The prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and great service.“

“If you are looking for halal Mexican food, that's the right address. I always take my guests to any of the Papi restaurants if they want to try Mexican cuisine - but I like the Santa Monica vibes more. Definitely recommended! And don't skip their beverages, each of them is an authentic gem.“

“There is nothing better than el Tarasco, rosecrans Manhattan beach. I come back to socal twice a year to visit family and we never go back without stopping here. The chicken (hard shell fried) taco is the best in the world... make sure to order a side of guacamole, their habenero salsa and cheese quesadilla. If u want to branch out carne asada tacos or the junior burrito deluxe.. ,ant go wrong. Sitting at bar stools 300 feet from the beach at a genuine taco stand that's out of this world checks all the boxes. Bring your appetite morning or late night.“

“I came to Google to review this place and help them out, but I see they already have amazing reviews and rightfully so.
I’ve been ordering caldo de Albondigas (meatball soup) to go for the last five years and it never disappoints. They give you all the fixings like cilantro, onion, limes, and handmade tortillas along with chips and salsa. I most recently ordered Chilaquiles Verdes as I did not want to pay $15 at el zarape (nearby) For the same proportion (eggs not included) and no sides. The Chilaquiles from El Comal come with eggs, a side of rice and beans, chips and salsa for $16. Worth it. The to-go packaging on this plate could use something more sturdy, but they could serve it on a sheet of aluminum foil and I would still eat it. It’s that good. The salsa is an enjoyable spicy yet flavorful. 10/10 would recommend“

“Great tasting salsas and add-ons, I love their tortas and burritos especially but you can't go wrong with anything they have (quesadillas can be a bit too oily at taco trucks in general but they're still tasty). One of my favorite taco trucks, but prices are a little bit higher than most others ($14 or $13 instead of 11-12). That being said, it's still great value and really hits the spot.“

The chilaquiles with chorizo were excellent and the mole burrito was delicious. Their specialty drinks with mezcal were also great! Serving sizes are excellent for the value, very family friendly and wheelchair accessible!“
