“I asked my husband to find a cute + cozy Italian restaurant for Friday night dinner date, and we found what we wanted and more! Low lighting, but not so low you can’t read the menu. Quiet enough to hear conversation, but not awkward-quiet. And the service was top notch, nothing about the spot was pretentious, and the food was tasty. The owner (or maybe maître d’?) Vasak was so sweet and greeted us with a huge smile. He had us come to the back to taste all of the wines because I didn’t know which one I wanted, and he brought tiramisu on the house at the end of our meal. The whole staff was friendly and fast, and they all seemed to know the guests who walked in—big smiles, hugs, handshakes, “see-you-in-a-couple-weeks”. We got bow tie pasta with pink sauce and their house made gnocchi with pesto cream sauce; perfectly al dente and perfectly salted. I’m going to bring all of my friends!“

“What an incredible hidden gem! We were craving Italian food and decided to check out Al Italiano. Walked in on a Tuesday night a little before closing. Eddie and the owner Robert greeted us warmly. The menu has some great options and we were indecisive what to order. Our waiter Eddie is a first class professional and answered all our questions with patience and in details. His recommendations were amazing. We ordered Eggplant Parmesan, Veal Piccata, Children’s cheese pizza, Salumiere pizza and their homemade Tiramisu. Everything was excellent and so tasty. The whole experience at Al Italiano was outstanding and unforgettable. Robert is a great business owner who actually cares and treats you like family. His whole staff is very respectful and helpful. Started out with appetizer little pieces of bread with seasoning and the marinara sauce you can tell was absolutely homemade delicious
The olive oil oil was and bread matched that of the quality of Italy
the Branzino fish dish was absolutely amazing. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The carrots were delicious.
My family ordered the medallion steaks were also exceptional
The chicken dish and the seafood pasta was also as good as the rest of the dishes

For dessert, the tiramisu and the tart with vanilla ice cream and the dark chocolate tropics were to die for

“I ate here before with my family a few months ago and we enjoyed the meal. I forgot about it, until my husband and I were looking for a different Italian restaurant than the usual ones we go to. I remembered Olivia, so we went on a Saturday night where it was considerably more energetic than before. Everyone was welcoming and we were lucky we made a reservation. The arancini was soooo good. It's very hard to find the quality that we experienced in Italy, but Oliva came very close. The Pasta Norma was delicious. The seafood pasta was also very good. The portions were plentiful and service was on point. This is such a warm and welcoming restaurant. I recommend it and can't wait to return.“

“Food is always good here and service as well. I love the endless soup with their meals. Lunch time is a great bargain. Wish they'd have have the option of the sandwiches coming on Italian bread than just all on the bread sticks but they are still pretty good for the price. I go for the meatball sand because it's a cheaper bargain price and I thought it was much better tasting than the chicken sandwich which was about the same as you'd get at Burger King. My wife and I come to Olive Garden mostly when they have the GET ONE TAKE ONE HOME DEAL. Can't beat that. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because all their chicken is not that good and is the same yuck kind you can get at any fast food joint. The meatballs are great. But then if you want to add them to you spaghetti dinner, they charge an extra $3 for 3 meatballs or sausage even. Then that makes spaghetti & meatballs come to about $16 and that is overpriced imo. On some visits the spaghetti sauce is caked with thick tomato slices in it and no other options because it's all made that day. Some days the sauce is more meaty and then the next visit tons of too much tomato slices and it's all watery. Also, being a bigger guy, almost every time we've been here, it's been a bit embarrassing being seated at booths that don't fit me and then having to move and I think the host or hostess should know better and know their tables. Otherwise this is a place we go to for lunch and only for dinner when they have the buy one take one home deal.“

“Trattoria del Sole is a genuinely fine Italian dinner experience. I've always known that the way to tell the difference between an average restaurant and a better restaurant is the way they're calamari is cooked and presented. Calamari was perfect. Tender and mild. The arugula salad was quite fresh. The pasta was definitely in-house made. Perfectly served Al Dante with a spicy sauce that made the dish sublime. I will be back.“

“There were 4 of us dining in for a late lunch/ early dinner. It's a very comfortable place with a great menu and awesome desserts. The owner works there and the staff is awesome and friendly. If you want to adjust your selection a bit they are happy to help in any way possible! The portions are good size to share. We love going there and the staff makes it cozy and welcoming. “So happy to have tried Sugo! I only dipped my toes into the flavor pool ordering only the French Fries and the Meatballs and sauce! Having had an Italian Chef for a Father, I grew up being able to tell good Italian flavors from a simple dish like Meatballs and Sauce (gravy)! Both were excellent from Sugo! Hot from heat, great texture and fine flavors and plenty of food! I'm looking forward to delving deeply into the menu next time! The rest of the family dinner was a hit with everyone too! “NYC cheese slices are my jam, and we have an embarrassment of riches in Sherman Oaks. Within a mile of each other, there are three, count 'em three, authentic NY slice shops. My son and I visited all three of them on a self-guided cheese slice tour of Sherman Oaks. Pizza Wagon was stop three on the tour!

The atmosphere is good...NY decor on the walls in what feels like a truly neighborhood / not-chain space. The service was great too...the staff worked quickly and were abundantly friendly and helpful.

They do a good job with authentic style slices...the right amount of crisp on the crust and a good ratio of sauce versus cheese. The chew was good, though both the crust and sauce don't quite have the superior flavor profile of the nearby places.

It's definitely a good alternative to those, though, and miles ahead of the major chain pizzas in terms of NY style.“
