The chef's special appetizer was an absolute flavor explosion and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

Server said they didn't have enough help to fix it. When the sushi came we did not have any sauce. We asked one of the helpers who was walking by and she told us we would have to ask our server. We literally had to get up and go ask someone. Ridiculous for the amount of money we paid.”

We have never in 30 plus years had a bad meal here. I've read some of the bad reviews and honestly I can't believe what some people will complain about. The world would be a better place if we were all kind. The owner has put her life into this restaurant. Its clean, cozy, always fresh food and frankly it just feels like home. COVID really turned restaurants up side down and only the strong survived. We are grateful that this family owned business made it thru the toughest of times.”

We had a large, family dinner here (30+ people), and I cannot recommend this place enough!! The food is absolutely amazing (why we chose it in the first place!), and the staff are wonderful.

We had a large, hungry crowd, and Proto’s went above and beyond in making the night perfect. Chuck personally went above and beyond in making the night perfect, and we cannot be more grateful. He personally put together our tables beforehand and added a beautiful extra touch of wrapped utensils, menus at each seat, and glass olive oil bottles. It really helped set the atmosphere for the entire night, and I truly appreciated such special touches.

As a former waitress and bartender, I cannot recommend this place enough. The time, attention, and energy the team will put into your visit here are unparalleled. I personally know how difficult it can be to serve a large, excited group, but the Proto’s staff took it in stride! Every team member worked together exceptionally well, and took the time to share tasks, take on additional responsibilities, etc so the night ran as smoothly as possible. I know this team can handle anything!!

I always make time every now and then to visit canes because I do love it, however I was disappointed with small pieces of chicken and still being hungry after a 4 piece meal when that normally fills me up. Went with the gorditas with carnitas for lunch. Masa style shell stuffed with beans and juicy pork. Fantastic dish. Tamarind Spicy marg was really good as well.

I always order my bun on the side, but I didn’t even have to because they have an amazing burger bowl option for any of their burgers. Another thing I loved: when you order fries, you can choose a single or double portion instead of being forced into getting two sides.
