They remembered us from last year and wrote happy anniversary on our dessert plates (tres leches cake and the churros). It was special and delicious as always.”

“Met a dear friend from New York at Bloodroot for lunch. From the street the outside looked small, plain and not very interesting. As we walked through the gate to the “side door” we were greeted by the water view and a lovely outdoor seating area - for another day, too chilly today! We stepped in the door and were immediately welcomed by Noel. From that point on, we were cared for and fed by Noel and her amazing cooks and kitchen staff - thank you Carol, Lailla and Yordanos. The food was excellent, the decor of vintage tables & chairs, hanging rugs off the rafters (one designed and hand woven by Noel) and lovely photographs on the walls, was both elegant and homey. We wandered the book store and bought their cookbook. What a wonderful experience to share with a dear friend. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant experience to all those who love vegan offerings and enjoy an intimate caring environment. Excited to return soon.”

“We originally had a reservation across the street, but it turned out that they were actually closed so we ended up at Bank Sports Bar and are we ever glad we did! We were looking for a place to stop to get beers and a bite to eat before attending a concert nearby. When we walked in there were more than 65 in the bar and the vibe was exactly what we needed. Quickly we noticed there was one bartender behind the bar - ut oh. Right? Nope. Britt was truly amazing and this place is lucky to have her. We never went without a drink; she was attentive and kind. Turns out there was one person in the kitchen, too - AJ. Our food came out delicious and hot. All of the respect to these two. We hope to be back soon!”

“We were early for our ferry and looking for a bite. My partner grabbed a grandma slice with fresh mozzarella and a vodka martini in a frosty glass. I got a cold antipasto, which wasn’t on the menu but they were very happy to oblige. Service was swift and friendly and the prices were reasonable. I took my salad to eat on the way to Pt. Jeff. Great place. Everything from the bread to the gelato is made in house.”

Brittany was our server, & she was awesome! I can't recall our busboy's name but he was great with bringing bread to our table, & refilling our water glasses as needed. I had the baby arugula salad special to start, & it was so tasty & the perfect beginning before having an old favorite of mine, linguine with white clam sauce. My hubby really enjoyed the Spiedina Romano which is a kicked up mozzarella appetizer that if he fully polished it off, he wouldn't have ate his Chicken Piccata then tangerine sorbet afterwards! Don't worry, we brought home leftovers to enjoy! Topping off things was a surprise singing of "Happy Birthday" when my tartufo came out! Reservations are strongly recommended especially for dinner, but Ralph 'n' Rich's is a gem that's had staying power in Downtown Bridgeport for many years. Go there & enjoy!”

Because the shells are good and sticky (not everyone's preference, I know), and the ingredients are of high enough quality, and so well-prepared, that they don't have to over-douse everything in salty sauces to mask the awfulness, the tacos stay together well. They are also reasonably hearty tacos--not thin, not overpacked. In short, this is one of those places that understands that well-wrought simplicity is the best approach for this kind of cuisine--great for a quick, satisfying meal. The service is efficient and kind, too!”

“Our table of four was outside and it started to drizzle, our waiter was attentive and asked if we wanted to move to a covered table. We did. We ordered 3 apps, sides of garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a 50 oz tomahawk ribeye with sauted mushrooms and onions for the table. Ribeye perfectly med rare! Apple crips and cappuccinos round out the evening. There was live music and lots of chatter but we had no problem carrying on and hearing our own table conversation. Food and service have been consistently good. This is the fifth time we have had dinner here in the past year. Definitely will back.”

“First, to call SOB a hidden gem would be doing it a disservice, per all the five-star reviews! The better term is off the beaten path, but undoubtedly worth a purposeful trip. I am admittedly a bit of a sandwich snob, and Michelle's porchetta special did NOT disappoint. As a matter of fact, she was so genuinely charming and sincere in her description of it, that all three of us ordered the exact same thing, and the full-size grinder at that. This was a BIG sandwich, even by my standards, and the components were all top-notch. Somehow, the meat was still juicy and tender, even sliced thin and griddled on the flat top. The provolone was melted nicely, and the marinated peppers had just enough bite to balance the richness. She gave us a cup of au jus for dipping as well, which was greatly appreciated. Taste and value aside, Michelle may just be the start of the show. Her hospitable kindness and welcoming spirit made the food even better, to the effect that we were already planning our next visit before we even left. SOB is the real deal, thanks again Michelle, BPT is lucky to have you!”

“Our table of four was outside and it started to drizzle, our waiter was attentive and asked if we wanted to move to a covered table. We did. We ordered 3 apps, sides of garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a 50 oz tomahawk ribeye with sauted mushrooms and onions for the table. Ribeye perfectly med rare! Apple crips and cappuccinos round out the evening. There was live music and lots of chatter but we had no problem carrying on and hearing our own table conversation. “We had the pleasure of being served by Maria on 10/05. I came in with my two kiddos and my service dog. Maria was so kind and welcoming to us all. She immediately wanted to make sure that my service dog was taken care of with a bowl of water. Her interaction with the kids was great and she got us our food & drinks very fast. The food was good, the only reason I can’t give a 5 star is because my son did sick on the car ride home. It was absolutely due to car sickness as we drove a total of 8 hours today. NONE THE LESS I cannot forgive those chicken tenders & fries I had to clean up off my back seat on the shoulder of I-95. I’m personally angry at them because I didn’t have the pleasure of eating them. Although my son did say they were delicious… at least the first time he tasted them. I imagine the second wasn’t so great. Anywhoozle. The decor in the bowling alley, arcade and bar area is quite awe-inspiring. We sat in the back room which prompted my kiddos to inquire about the largest fish ever caught. They wall decor sparked their curiosity and occupied our meal talk. Super fun. We dined during a pretty dead time of the day right between normal lunch and dinner. Everything was quick and again the staff were great. BONUS was that we had purchased some items in Bass Pro Shop for our ride (snacks) and that got us $5 off our meal. If you’re at Bass Pro Shop, it’s definitely worth it to pop in for a bite to eat (all shark puns on tended)!”

I curiously approached the counter and noticed that my order (along with others) were just standing at the counter for a long time and nobody bagged them nor called my number to let me know it was ready... 😳... my chicken was already cold... 😡.
