“This establishment is a staple of the town of Bridgewater and for good reason. Aside from the historical significance of the building itself, the food is always delicious, pricing fair, staff genuinely friendly, and atmosphere welcoming. We always feel like we are visiting family when we are here.During warmer weather, there are several tables out front for a nice view of the Town’s main thoroughfare.They stock a generous variety of the mouthwatering Bridgewater Chocolates (of course!), and their store has some light food, treats, and odds & ends. There is also an area with home goods and gifts - all really nice quality.I highly recommend Bridgewater Village Store & Bistro for a tasty meal, or as a spot to stock up on some food and drinks for a road trip or drive around town.“

They even made a few sauces to accommodate a dairy allergy, highly recommend this place and this will be the new go to spot for us. “We absolutely love this local restaurant. If you are in or around Newtown/Sandy Hook, be sure and check it out. The pork chop was absolutely delicious, and my wife really enjoyed the scallops. “Sonny’s is an excellent choice for a simple, honest breakfast filling the gap for New Fairfielders after the Luncheonette closed.Sonny’s is open during the morning until 2 pm allowing plenty of time to stop in for a breakfast or lunch.We each had an omelette- like another reviewer said - which was stuffed full of your choice of ingredients. I had their Geno’s omelet which was filled with bacon, onions, peppers and cheddar cheese. Neatly folded it made a pretty presentation unlike other diners or cafes whose omelets are like a placemat folded in half.My husband had the special - their Mexican omelet which had a festive array of cheese, salsa, veggies and more.But the highlight of the breakfast for us was their grits. I’m not fond of home fries - too big and chunky for me, so their grits were a great substitute.They are heavenly - they were creamy with the grits apparent, thick with a pat of butter. We add some salt and pepper and enjoyed.Why am I focusing a review on a simple side dish? My husband is from the deep South where grits are the mainstay side dish to every breakfast. The grits served here were just like the best grits he had from down south. Most places up here serve thin, runny grits that are too gritty. Properly done takes cooking them slow and long so the grits break down somewhat and develops that rich creamy flavor.So unexpected to find a southern dish done so well. All their other dishes are just as delicious as the ones we had.Sonny’s has a homey atmosphere where Sonny himself steps out of the kitchen and checks in with the customers.Service was quick and attentive. My coffee cup was refilled 3 times without me asking. Condiments were also offered without asking.Sonny’s is touch of a blast from the past with good simple breakfasts (and lunch) with great service and a smile.“

“Great food at this restaurant set in an historic house just over the CT border. We sat in the dining room upstairs, which boasted views of the original beams dating back to the time of Washington. Food was good- started with clams and had French Dip and Pulled pork sandwich as our entrees. Generous portions, good drinks. Would def add into the regular rotation! Waitress was attentive also.“

This co-owned establishment has split the management, one owner on the front end with the other being head chef in the back and it is reflected in the quality of everything they do.From the highest of standards reflected in their sourcing of the ingredients and the preparation of the food all of the way to the service, accomodations and atmosphere I sincerely couldn't say nicer things. “The Barnwood is our go to for occasions as well just to eat out. The wait staff are very good . Our orders always arrive promptly, and as ordered. In addition to a well rounded menu there always are wonderful specials. We have never had a meal that we didn't like. The chef is inventive and steps outside of the ordinary with fish and meat selections. The only negative is that the acoustics are dreadful making it noisy when the restaurant fills up.Also the tables for two are small.“

Truly great beer selection, not just the usual 5 different hazy NE IPA most places put up as their craft beer. There was 1 Belgian, 2 Germans, a bourbon barrel aged beer, as well as few Excellent Local beers. Do yourself a flavor, go for the beer and stay for the delicious food.Highly recommended!“

“Nestled in downtown New Milford, Johana's has expanded from a little restaurant to a medium-sized restaurant -- and the COVID-era outdoor seating is here to stay for good, it seems. Thankfully, the service and food haven't suffered as they've grown. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, so they only get two chances to earn your money. I've only been for breakfast, and it's worth it! I had the scotch eggs, and while I wouldn't order that special again, that's my own personal tastes. I will say they were delicious, cooked perfectly, and I'm glad I tried them. My girlfriend had an omelet with no shortage of fillings. The giant pile of home fries on the side also helped. The coffee is refilled constantly until you tell them to stop.“

“Clean, open, and fun place for dinner. I love that they give you complimentary bread and they had some fun drink specials for St. Patrick's day. The nachos were definitely loaded. I would prefer the guac to come on the side not already put on top as the extras I took home didn't last well. The shepherds pie was very tasty!“

“I usually order out as I did this evening. I ordered my usual when o order there, NYSteak sandwich with fries. I ordered rare and it was cooked perfect. Roll was fresh. The only disappointment was the small cut. Not sure if they went down in size or it was a one time thing. I was surprised at the shape and the size. Otherwise excellent.“
