“The food was honestly really good. I ordered the bok choy ginger with chicken, my dad had the Japanese curry with shrimp, and my mom got the shrimp teriyaki. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned.

The only drawback was the fruit flies. There were a lot of them, and it took away from the overall dining experience. If it weren’t for that, this would’ve easily been a 5-star stop.“

“Disappointing. Not the friendly service you expect from Panera. I have been going here for years, and they changed all the recipes for the worse. The soufflés are not soufflés. They are puff pastry with scrambled eggs. The puff pastry is touch and doesn't cook well. Their baguettes used to be authentic. Now, they are a loaf of bread. The quality if the turkey has gone down. No more metal utensils. It is almost impossible to cut a soufflé with their cheap plastic knife. They don't check their coffee levels and they run out constantly. Complaints to the manager did nothing. You'd not hear the word thank you anymore. They don't ask for your pabeta rewards card. They don't ask if you want to use your rewards. They charge you the wrong amount. This can't all be the fault of the cashier. Where is the manager? I could go on.

Kid-friendliness: I have always brought my kids here, but they don't have anything geared towards kids. Beware of the highly caffeinated teas.“

The salmon sandwich is a must have, and the coffee is very good. During a road trip we made sure to bookend the trip at Sift. “Ahhh…Niantic. Restaurants here do not need to work hard because Niantic itself is a joyful place. My Chicken Teriyaki dinner ($18) was excellent. Moist chicken, lovely presentation with broccoli florets ringing the chicken, carrot rounds (perfect) under the chicken, just the right amount of sauce and jasmine rice. A small salad with delicious dressing although it had that baffling watery quality and miso soup that was lukewarm preceded the dinner. My companion had the excellent Thai rice with chicken. The high top was wobbly. That’s the worst thing you can say about the experience. So easy to fix. I had the generous ginger martini, my partner enjoyed the Sam seasonal. It being Saturday of the Niantic Light Parade, we had an excellent view of the festivities-hence a 5 star atmosphere. In daylight, from our table, one can see the Niantic Bay. The young host attempted to shim the bottom of the table. Our server was pleasant. The loud blond server was not. It’s been a minute since we’ve visited The Spice Club. It’s worth another trip next time we’re thinking of Asian Fusion or Sushi.“

The manager was very apologetic and made them cook him another steak but my huge issue is, we went out ti dine together and celebrate milestones, I had to eat alone while he waited and by the time his steak came out the remainder of the sides were stone cold, I feel like at the least something from that meal should have at least been deducted from our almost $200 bill! Here’s how it all went down: 1️⃣ Wood-Fired Wings (Buffalo) - $15.95 BOMB! 💣 Eight perfectly wood-fired wings- crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with buffalo sauce that hits just right. The blue cheese dressing deserves its own shoutout 💣😎 2️⃣ Oma’s Real Meatball Sandwich- $17.50 BOMB! 💣 These wood-roasted, hand-rolled meatballs were full of flavor and smothered in rich pomodoro sauce, tucked inside toasted rustic bread with melted provolone and parmesan. It comes with potato chips and a fresh crunchy pickle. 3️⃣ Small Mango’s Mozzarella Pie- ½ Mozzarella/Funky Monkey- $19.95 💣 DOUBLE BOMB! The cheese half? “I liked this place. It’s solidly good. Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients. Their salsas could use some refining - not a lot of flavor & depth to them. but I liked everything else.
The chips are just standard thick corn fried tortillas chips so nothing great about them. I ordered the fried avocado soft taco which was fine except that the avocado was underripe so not ideal. The creamy chipotle sauce was very good but I think the avocado taco needs a savory salsa to offset the creamy avocado. I also had a pulled pork taco which was good - the salsa verse was good but not great. I will stop in again & try some other items.“
