“Had dinner at Gather 55 last night and it was the most pleasant dining experience and best food I’ve had in months! Crystal’s service was excellent! She is a master at her craft! Not only was the experience worth every penny, the mission and purpose of Gather 55 is wonderful! I wish we had one in TN!”
“Awesome service, food, atmosphere, and hospitality. Classy and comfortable place to eat top notch Italian. The cheesy garlic bread is incredible. Can’t wait to visit again! Owner is so kind!”
“This was our first time eating at Mancora and it was delicious. Our server, Julio, was great. When I asked for a sauce on my dish, he actually pointed out that they had a dish comprised of exactly what I wanted.
I had the pescado a lo macho and my husband had the pulpo. Both were fantastic - the fish was fried perfectly, the seafood in the sauce was cooked to perfection, and the octopus was so tender. We were too stuffed for dessert, but I’ll be back for an alfajor next time!”
“Warm, welcoming staff providing excellent food, The chicken kebobs were the best I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is quiet and seating is very comfortable (someone thought about comfortable chairs which many restaurants today ignore). Highly recommended.”

“Through the grapevine (social media pages I follow), we heard that Chef Van Hurd from Season 6 of Hell's Kitchen was now the executive chef here at Fire By Forge! So naturally, we pulled up to check it out! (Disclaimer: Chef told me that he was so new there that his featured items hadn't hit the menu at that time. ALSO, he's been long gone from there at the time of this review.) So anyway, here's how things went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right in Hartford, just a little on the outskirts is this gem. It's on Broad street a little out the way and there is a very small parking lot next to the restaurant, but street parking is also available. The outside looks very well put together and rustic. Once inside the restaurant is kinda split into 2 sections. You have the main section which is nice, open with high ceilings, bright red bricks, big windows, soft leather couches and all kinds of seating arrangements. If you walk past the bar you get into a smaller section, but it's kinda like a tunnel of tables. Lol. That tunnel of tables then opens up into what almost looks like a different restaurant, but feels like a space they expanded into. So there's plenty of places to sit, though I still encourage reservations! The atmosphere was lively and full of energy. This place also lets you know that it's a cooking school too! Amateur chefs can come here to learn knife skills and cooking skills as well! (This is just a small snippet of what they do, but I encourage you to visit the businesses website to learn more about what they offer.) Service: Here's my only gripe about this place. Right online it says "Happy Hour is from 4:30 PM to 6 PM daily and 8pm-9pm, except on holidays, events, or show nights." But like, when isn't there a show or some sort of event going at at The Bushnell or some nearby theater?! You have to literally call and check with the host to see if they're doing happy hour before you come because if you THINK you're in the clear, they can just say... oh there's a show tonight so there will be no happy hour. So that bothered me. Oh well. We still dined. Now for the good stuff! Let me tell you something about Suzie Johnson! She is the bartender here and she won BARTENDER OF THE YEAR in 2024 via the Connecticut Restaurant Association! She is a TREAT! She's full of personality, knows her stuff and is just a true pleasure. Food: First off was the Up In Smoke Old Fashioned. It had great, subtle sweetness up front, warm taste from the Up & Down branded bourbon, cold, smooth, not too harsh and of course, a bit smokey. As a courtesy to guests, they're served pickled carrots as palate cleansers instead of bread, crisps or anything like that. Clever. The first small plate I got to try were the Duck Mole Wings! These are described as "5 crispy duck wings with a tequila mole barbecue sauce, served with sesame seeds and pickled onions. These certainly looked the part! These were smooth, not necessarily crispy, extremely tender, hardy and just balanced. Mole is a very ingredient-heavy sauce and these were delicious. My 2nd drink was the Ghost Rider which is Up & Down bourbon, spiced Nightrider espresso, Licor 43 and an orange twist. This had a sharp cinnamon/hazelnut/nutmeg flavor/spice-y flavor. Very good and warming as well, even though it was a little sweet. Next up was the Knife Skills Soup! This is a soup compiled by the trainees and all the vegetables they've chopped in class! How cool is that?! It was a very thick vegetable soup, hearty, salty and warm. Next up were the Tostone Nachos! These were so fantastic. The pulled pork on top was so meaty, so tender and the queso fresco was lightly cheesy adding subtle notes to the hearty pork and carb-y tostone. This was my favorite thing of the night. My last drink of the night was the Sazerac. If absinthe is in the building, I must try that restaurant's version. This one was spectacular, but could've used more rye bourbon. The last thing we had to try was their Smash”

“Our vendor for our wedding uses Modern Pastry for their wedding cakes. the tasting was so easy and great. we went with chocolate cake chocolate mousse. Our cake was phenomenal!! not only was it gorgeous and EXACTLY as we wanted..it was so delicious. the process was super easy and painless which is what every bride needs...everyone was extremely friendly. thank you so much!!!! highly recommended!!!”
“Food is always great and the drinks are amazing too.. My new favorite spot ❤️❤️”
“I think Johnny should seat people in the order of the reservations. Not seat people he knows and be very rude when you ask him. We frequent this restaurant often, but after this experience we're done. I have written a letter to corporate regarding Johnny.”

“Absolutely loved our meal at Pietro’s Pizza. We ordered the classic cheese pizza, and it was perfectly baked with a crispy crust, great balance of sauce and cheese, and excellent flavor. The garden salad was fresh and crisp, with quality ingredients that made it more than just a side. The spicy Cajun wings were a standout—well cooked, flavorful, and with just the right amount of heat.
Great food, solid portions, and friendly service. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend Pietro’s to anyone looking for good pizza and wings in Hartford.”
“Sunberry is the go-to spot for food, drinks, and karaoke! Their food is Always so fresh & good and the drinks are delicious. Good vibes at night with karaoke and music. If you want to go somewhere for good food with friends or alone, sunberry is great.
The staff and owner are really what makes this place great. The most kind people around.
I'm sad I moved from the area and hope to go back to Hartford just to visit sunberry.”
“Was there Monday night for dinner and it was amazing from the bread service to the apps drinks dinner and dessert got the bone in ny sirloin cooked to perfection and my friend got the short rib pasta special minus the short rib bc she is a Vegetarian they wete more than happy to accommodate and her food was equally as delicious!!”
“Well I’ll be d8mned. This was the BEST food I’ve ever had in CT and that’s saying a lot. Best BBQ too. Didn’t care for the brisket, but the ribs (and I hate ribs) and pulled pork were to die for. Don’t even get me started on the sides! No velveeta Mac here, this is the real deal. Everything is seasoned and on POINT. The cocktails are marvelous as well. Run, don’t walk to eat here.”
“As a Chef.. The food is Fantabulous!! If your in the Hartford area or just visiting this NOT something you wanna miss out on! I think I'm bout throw my next B-day here. I might even rent out a room down stairs to have as another get away for me as my little Honey Comb Hide out🤔🤗”

“Good place the workers are fast and efficient. They also change their gloves frequently. The prep station is clean and the meats and veggies are fresh. The only thing complain about is the amount of bums outside it’s not just one it’s multiple asking for money or to buy them something it’s actually pretty annoying and some of them are disrespectful. Why are they allowed to be on the premises? pan handling is illegal. But other than that the food and service is good.”
“Absolutely the best grinders on the south end of Hartford Ever thing was fresh and spotless these guys take pride in there craft just let them make your sub with there twist and you will be mind blown i was. THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING SUB and don't forget to tip”
“Clean and bright. Standard Subway fare, so take that as you will. Always good in a pinch. I think the staff does a good job making the food. I'm being picky, but there's a hanging plexiglass pane right in front of the register, and it's just kinda in the way. Not the worst thing, but awkward.
I think the only thing to note is that this location is in Hartford. Doesn't make it inherently bad, but hey, you get some characters. As with any place, just go about your business and don't interact. Again, literally doesn't matter, could be a Karen saying dumb things, or folks who are just a little too high looking for cookies and chips. All the same. Plus, this is a 24 hour location, so you gotta respect it.”
“Who ever was the girl at the register at 6:25 on Tuesday, was Very friendly, helpful, and professional....she help me with the meals for my nieces...The store was clean and the food was fresh and the fries were hot and crispy. Overall I won't change Burger King for nothing.”
“Places very clean. N also offers multiple different styles of sitting arrangements
Despite the area it's it is very well maintained by staff. Staff is nice and professional somewhat The only part that got me was they do not do table service like McDonald's. So there's no one going to bring your food to your table. You have to get up and walk back from your table to get it something to keep in mind. Table service. Is a plus and your establishment? Other than that, the food was great atmosphere was very good in clean.I took some photos.Check 'em out”
“I actually had a decent experience aside from the constant slamming of the door the employees go in and out of by the register. The food was made well and their people were kind enough. I’ll go back to using the drive-thru, but this visit was pretty good; I could tell everyone was doing their best.”
“Love this place good drinks. great bar food good music. i’m a regular guy”
“Went here for the first time yesterday. It came highly recommended from my cousin and I had a feeling I was going to love it. This is a high-quality restaurant. Atmosphere had a very comfortable home-like feeling. Service was not overly and just the right amount of attentive. Drink/wine selections were excellent. But the best most quality aspect of course was the actual food. The dishes that I and those with me had were nothing short of outstanding. Reasonably sized and priced. If you know Portuguese food, then this is what you would expect as far as offering classic/traditional options. If you don’t know Portuguese food, then anything you’re going to try on this menu is surely going to be pleasurable. This is now going to be my go-to place. It’s well worth the drive if you want to ensure that you are going to have a gratifying culinary experience!”

“This coffee shop is so much more than a place to grab a drink. It is like a community living room. Warm, creative, and welcoming in the most genuine way. There are art supplies to sit and create, free books to borrow, and games to play. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, connect, and stay awhile. The cold brew I had today was absolutely amazing…..smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. Even more meaningful was the experience with the owner. Her kindness, authenticity, and passion shine through in every detail of this space. You can feel how much heart has gone into building something that truly serves the community. I’m so grateful to my son and his girlfriend for encouraging us to stop in after a UConn game, what a gift that recommendation was. Places like this are rare, and they matter. If you love small businesses, creativity, connection, and spaces that bring people together, please show up and support this one. Bring a friend. Stay for a while. Make it part of your routine. Convenient to the XL Center, Yard Goats, downtown, and right off the highway. Closed Mondays, open all other days — plan your visit and don’t miss it. Support this local gem. Our community needs places like this. ☕️📚🖌️🥰”
“When ever I want some delicious and healthy juices I always thing of Chrissy. I buy bulk but they never last too long I drink most of it in no time. It’s just that delicious 😋 especially the Mango Pineapple one of my favorites”
“The selection of food is jaw-dropping and it's all amazing. Brazilian paella was addictive. Peruvian rice bowl was the same. Ice cream was really good too. And the beer selection at the bar was perfect. Most importantly, everyone working there was so friendly and helpful, with a special shootout to women at Flor Do Mar. She's a joy & talented chef!”
“Clean Restaurant, Friendly n Welcoming Staff and Fantastic Food!!! I have No need to go to any other Restaurant cuz they have it All here..In my opinion, it's the Best Jamaican Restaurant in Hartford.”
“When I tell you hurry and get you a plate of this good food I mean runnn!! I cant believe there isnt a line out the door and around the corner. I ordered the brown stew chicken with cabbage and spicy rice it was absolutely AMAZING!! the chicken was just fallen off the bone and the flavors was on point soo freaking good. And my husband had gotten a fish sandwich...let me tell you I dont really eat fish like at all,but when I took a bite of his sandwich I was like WOWW that is soo good to the point that I would order that sandwich for myself. The oxtail empanada was really good as well especially with that dipping sauce...our food was really chefs kiss❤️Even though I live an hour away I will definitely be driving back just to go there and get their food! I cant wait to try other food on their menu!!!”
“Victus Coffee is a wonderful spot for high-quality coffee and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The coffee is excellent—smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. Every cup feels thoughtfully prepared, whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or staying a while.
The space itself is clean, cozy, and inviting, making it a great place to relax, work, or meet with friends. The attention to detail in both the drinks and the environment really stands out.
Friendly service, great coffee, and a comfortable vibe make Victus Coffee a place worth returning to again and again. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted cup of coffee.”
“Food was excellent. Was lucky to be there on a night where they had japanese imported oysters. Got some excellent a5 along with some top quality sushi. Was a very fun experience to share with my daughter who appreciated the entire meal.”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“The people are friendly and very helpful with questions about the menu items! The food here is delicious, I highly recommend eating here!
You can have Breakfast, lunch, dinner and appetizers here!
You can dine in or take out. There is plenty of parking on the street and in the lot.”
“I was a little taken back at first but the setup just adds to the atmosphere of this place. The people were fast, attentive and the meatball calzone was soooo good. Huge calzone! I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner. It tastes like it was made fresh as well as the pizza sauce. Delicious!”
“(Note: This review is for the Albany Ave. location) This won't be a popular review. For decades my family would frequent Scott's Bakery. We loved everything that they offered (hardo bread, beef patty, coco bread, plantain tart and so on). When I said we liked EVERYTHING, I mean it. Everything was on point!! Yesterday was my first time (and last time) going into Scott's in about a decade plus. It is clear that management has changed (if not management, something has gone horribly wrong). The shell of the patty was beyond thick and there was little meat in it. The coco bread was beyond disgusting! It was a flavorless clump of undercooked dough. You know how coco bread is supposed to taste. It didn't taste like that at all. It seems as though they've cut corners on their peanut punch which had a gell-like texture. The BEST part of everything that I purchased was the Cola Champagne. As long as they continue to use the same distributor they can't mess that up. Maybe they had a bad day. I won't be spending money to find out.”
“First timer here. The atmosphere was awesome. Sat at the bar and watched motoGP. I ordered the brisket egg rolls and they FAR exceeded my expectations. Crispy crunch, sweet, salty, umami. It hit every taste bud on my tongue. My husband got the brisket grilled cheese and it was out of this world good. Perfectly balanced. Not too much bbq sauce, right amount of cheese and a nice crisp bread. The tater tots were perfectly fried and salted. They were so good we didn't even need ketchup. We will for sure be back.”
“The ambiance is amazing...music is great and the FOOD!!!!! BABAYYYYY it is perfection on a plate”

“Came here with a coworker and got the chicken stew and yellow rice. Wasn't disappointed! Hearty portions and incredibly friendly staff. The empanadas are sold out by 12, they're that good. Saw pork belly in the case and it looked like it was cooked perfectly. Looking forward to my next visit!”
“I can't say what I like best, because it is all delicious. I usually get the enchiladas huertenas because I can't decide if the mole, red sauce, or green sauce is better; they are all equally wonderful. So are their tender, flavorful tamales. even their chips & salsa are a cut above. Pickup during the pandemic is fast and painless, which we appreciate.”
“Love this restaurant. Dishes are absolutely delicious. Robert and Bella are welcoming and wonderful going above and beyond in making sure you have a delightful dining experience. Both are also so helpful with dish recommendations and our meals came very quickly. They are so friendly and personable and provide exceptional service. We can’t wait to dine there with them, again. Bánh Meee is our new favorite restaurant in Hartford. Thank you! 😊”
“Red Rock Tavern is the hidden gem of Hartford—warm energy, great people, and a vibe that always hits. If you’re stepping out on a Saturday, the 90s Karaoke Sip & Paint is the move. Nostalgia, creativity, and good music in one room… it’s the perfect way to elevate your weekend.”
“We ordered pizza for 150 people in our office.... they made 40 pizzas, delivered them on time, great NY style to the pizza, we also ordered a variety of grinders and those were amazing, everyone really loved them, thank you to the team that made such a huge order happen and delivered such excellent quality.”
“Service was on point. Drink prices are fair. I didn't eat but my friends said the chicken wings were very good. Bathrooms clean. Security was polite.
I'll go to support this business.”
“Just went to Bear’s and was amazing, food had a great taste. Staff were friendly and helpful on selections.”
“As a Chef.. The food is Fantabulous!! If your in the Hartford area or just visiting this NOT something you wanna miss out on! I think I'm bout throw my next B-day here. I might even rent out a room down stairs to have as another get away for me as my little Honey Comb Hide out🤔🤗”
“Wings were the BEST we ever had! Caesar salad w/chicken was outstanding! Stopped by randomly for lunch. So happy we did.”
“The Urban Lodge is in a prime location in downtown Hartford. It is within walking distance of Dunkin Donuts park, Hartford Stage, Union Station and the Connecticut River waterfront.
Very good brews and bar food, served by friendly and efficient servers.
What makes this a problematic choice is the the noise level. When crowded, it is difficult to have a conversation.
If you chose to go, chose a non peak time. When the decibel level is normal,it is a wonderful culinary and social experience”
“This is basically a neighborhood corner store/bodega. It has a deli in the back and sells almost everything you need for daily living. Consider it a one stop and shop for all your needs.”
“Just tried the Middletown location for the first time. I ordered to go and the food was so hot and fresh still. Everything was delicious. I will for sure be going back😊”
“Delicious! Everything was wonderful, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the outside seating was refreshing. The bread and olives before the meal was a nice touch. The plates are large, enough to over fill yourself and still have enough left over.”
“I got food here at the Glastonbury Apple Festival on 10/19 and it was really good! I’m Jamaican myself so I’m usually a little skeptical but the food was delicious, I got the escovitch fish with festival and fried chicken with rice and peas and curry gravy. I believe it was a man that made my food so I can’t speak for anyone else but overall it was very good.”
“I know this was a million years ago (‘80s) the giant LI iced teas? They were served in like a gallon glass with siphons and they served a bunch of people, and they were buy one get one on your birthday! Does anyone remember?”
“Porciones como si estuvieras en Perú. Sabor buenazo y mucho por escoger. El staff de a muy amable, atento y da gusto compartir en familia en ese lugar. Los escogería una y otra vez 🧡”
“Celebrating anniversary #37 we received a gift card to this restaurant our first time and will come back. Very friendly and good food!”
“We had the pleasure of trying Lux’s Restaurant and Café for the first time through Too Good To Go, and it was an amazing experience! The portions were incredibly generous—so much food for such a great price. We had the oxtails, and they were absolutely delicious. As first-timers to Caribbean food, we were blown away by the flavors. The sides and rice were plentiful and perfectly complemented the main dish. On top of the fantastic food, the staff were kind and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend!”
“I have been here several times and they never fail to amaze me. 110% AUTHENTIC- you will feel like you’re eating in Reynosa! (Town in Tamaulipas, Mexico- one the Texas border). The food is just amazing really… the service is great. I would definitely recommend this place!”
“The portion sizes of the set meals are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The food is delicious and fresh. The new owner is very patient and it's worth coming back for. I will definitely visit again.”
“Has earned the Michelin star both by the setting overlooking the city towards the Bosporus, and by excellent food and service. You have a downpayment when you make the reservation but it’s worth it.”
“It's a great place to get together for drinks and good food. OR To have a party of any kind. They do parties well. Matty D's is definitely a place to put at the top of your list.”
“The bolognese was the best! The service was wonderful also. Had a lovely time.”
“Tried la Fonda Columbian food for the first time today-that ish went down! Bandeja La Fonda, Arroz con Pollo, y Chicharron. Definitely going back!”
“We loved it. Great, authentic Peruvian food. Good pisco sour too.”
“The food is very, very Good. And the Drinks are off the chain.”
“Great food. Just wish they’d stop cancelling orders when submitted on UberEats. Was really disappointed mine was just cancelled since it was my birthday treat to myself :/”
“I got pork fried rice and spare ribs. The order is very delicious and they communicated with very nice atmosphere after going inside. Very good the best Chinese food I got in Hartford.”
“I hosted a college send-off event for my daughter this past Saturday and it was fabulous!
I decided on a drop-in style function where we reserved the seating area that is fully furnished and nicely decorated with a fully equipped bar specific to that location (which served non-alcoholic beverages at my request). This was a small plate function and the food, which is provided by the establishment, was presented extremely well and tasted even better!
The owners, chefs, waitstaff and bartenders were highly professional, handled our family and friends with care and were very accommodating from booking until the actual event.
Thank you, One Bar!”

“I m taking the opportunity as a manger for South end pizza to respond to some of the laying I see regarding South end pizza
I m asking everyone to just be honest and tell the truth when you trying to tell your story
Some customers don t want to pay taxes on the food claiming that I m over charging them
Some customers don t even know that tax for cook food and restauration it s 7.35% not 6.35 % claiming that we over charging them too
The last person he s soon called for a party pizza we have limited numbers of party pizza dough for party pizzas like any other pizzas .the dough goes in the carbage if it does not sale that why we limited our numbers of it .we told he s soon we sold out he did not say any thing.he s father called 5 min later did not want to accept that we limited number I talk to him with a lot of respect and tried to explain to him why we have limited number he s claiming that he work for pizza place .I think he s laying and he does not know anything about pizza. He s laying juste like when he said he s cousin called one hour later and I give him party pizza .that a lay if he can prove it I will give him $200 worth of food on me . He will not be able because it a lay . I can prove to any body that s a lay using my cameras that I did not sale any party pizza to any body.
One last think I have a lot of good customers that they like us and we like them they treat us with respect and we treat them with a lot of respect
Anybody he s welcome to leave he s review abouth South end pizza just please tell the truth don t lied”

“I have been ordering food here for about 1 year now from Allen Place and New Britain via GrubHub and Today Capitol ave. I must say , The food is always exceptoinal the presentation is 100% seasoning and flavour 200% . Thank you chinese Kitchen you are the best in Hartford by far. And the food i eat other than my Caribbean food is Chinese.”
“I was disappointed because the servings of food are not consistent, one server makes sure to ask what you need and the food is good but the next server the following week really disappoint the rice was swimming in gravy it was so bad that it looked like dog food and I guess she didn't care about great service because the oxtails had 6 of the smallest pieces of oxtails that I have seen; this was so disappointing it felt like I had begged for some food. WOW”
“Their ability to cater an event is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. They catered my wedding two weeks ago and everyone absolutely loved the food. They came on time, the food was hot and fresh, and their service and professionalism was top notch. I’m going to use them two more times next year for events I’m doing.”
“I went there today looking for grits, I had my braces adjusted and mouth is very sore. I arrived prior to opening by nearly an hour. The owner helped me out with grits and scrambled eggs anyway. This is great customer service and the grits were hot and the eggs were cheesy. I did not need to add any salt or pepper, please give them a try.”

“First time coming here after an epic fail at Babes , and they were 9/10. No major complaints, location great, parking was good. Set up, music, service very good. Tiny wait time for food but music was so good and the food was amazing it made up for it. Will definitely be going again!”
“If you’re craving delicious, authentic Mexican food, look no further than Fuego Picante! This spot truly stands out, and their Birria Quesadilla is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, paired with just the right amount of cheese and crispiness in every bite. It’s absolutely mouthwatering! The Shrimp Quesadilla and the Birria Mulitas are also pictured which are just as delectable.
The customer service here is top-notch – the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and eager to make sure your experience is fantastic. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their food.
One of my favorite things about Fuego Picante is that their food is always hot and fresh. Every dish I’ve had is served with care, and you can taste the difference in quality.
I also love that they post their hours on Instagram every day, which makes it super easy to know when they’re open. It’s a great little touch that shows they truly care about their customers staying informed.
Overall, Fuego Picante is a must-visit for anyone looking for flavorful, fresh Mexican food with amazing service. You won’t regret it!”
“Wow! First time in the food court and decided to try this burger place. This exceeded my expectations. The burger and fries tasted fresh and delicous. The staff were friendly, the prices are also very reasonable. $16.09 for a double cheesburger with fries and a drink. Not bad! I will be back!”
“We went here with my in-laws and my kids. Every single one of us got something different. My mother-in-law got delicious barbecue. I had Puerto Rican food that was absolutely to die for. It was great that everyone could have something different and still sit together. There was music playing and the vibe was really good. We will definitely go back again.”
