“We went for lunch and tried the $10 lunch Bento Box special. It contained a four pieces California roll, a small green leaf salad, miso soup, two dumplings, and I special ordered a chicken and broccoli in a white garlic sauce. We also ordered an extra rice bowl for $1. Green tea came with the meal. All the food was very fresh and tasty. Portion sides are suitable for a lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful and amenable to any special requests. The restaurant v is very clean and suitable for a night out with friends or family. I can highly recommend it.“

“Was watching one piece. And OTama started giving dumplings away. Naturally needed now dumplings for lunch. We ended here. And instead of asking for a plate of dumplings each we decided to ask for several and share .

Everything g was delicious. By the end ordered some sesame balls, and I was expecting a different flavor. Really happy surprise new flavor to my list.

“I've been here at least 10 times. Absolutely DELICIOUS, always fresh, incredible portions, so reasonably priced, and undoubtedly the best poke bowl you'll get within many many tens of miles.

It's a hidden gem, small corner place you'll likely miss many times during your trips to Trader Joe's, but it's my favorite restaurant in Stamford. It's family owned and you'll see the brilliant kids helping their parents in the front register on occasion.

Also, they deliver in house, so you dont need to overpay with Grubhub, etc.

“The first Steam became instantly the best Asian restaurant in Greenwich (the chef made his own noodles) and my wife and I patronized it very frequently years ago.The second Steam, we stopped going to after a couple of very disappointing visits.So for a long time we hesitated going to the third and present version, under new management. When we finally gave it a try, what a pleasant surprise it was: it is the best Steam of them all, and, like the first, arguably the best restaurant in Greenwich for Asian and Chinese food.The place is spotless, the service impeccable, very fast and very courteous. The food is so DELICIOUS and the quality so high that we’ve decided to try everything on the menu and we’ve been going at least once a week checking off items on the menu, two at a time (we’ve had over a dozen dishes so far, each one making the experience so pleasurable: life is short and that’s the way a meal should be: delightful). Three very large balls of pumpkin cake: a Chinese classic in its best version (i.e., filled with red beans). If you’ve never had this masterpiece of Chinese cuisine (words fail me to describe the extraordinary taste and textures), you’re in for quite a revelation and quite a treat… All the portions at Steam are surprisingly generous and the prices more than reasonable: this has to be the best value for your money in this expensive town…The location on the town’s Main Street (Greenwich Avenue) is the most convenient. The place is small but the huge windows make you feel as if you’re outside and they are great for people watching, if you’re alone. The decor is simple but tasteful. It’s all conducive to a very pleasant experience. We feel very lucky indeed to have such a wonderful place in town, because Greenwich is definitely not a foodie paradise…“

The next time I was in the area for work I got 2 combination dinners and dumplings and brought them homefor dinner. “While this is an Asian fusion restaurant that covers staples from several countries I have to say I had some excellent sushi there last night. I ordered the yellowtail jalapeno appetizer and had toro and raw scallop sashimi which they torched and smoked. It was all excellent. They also offered an omakase menu which I will be sure to try next time. Very impressed and wasn’t expecting it to be this good. Fish was incredibly fresh and well prepared and seasoned. Will be going back - a lot!“

“Simply the best! Great "traditional" American-Chinese dishes, and an outstanding sushi menu. THE BEST steamed dumplings. I wish I lived closer. I am rejuvenated by their food. Cozy, low-key atmosphere, good for a date or family outing.

“Got some take out for my girl here. Classic general sue chicken . A local shop that is good for the neighborhood. If you ask for extra fortune cookies they don’t even charge you which is nice because I will save them for my daughter as a snack because they are healthy instead of regular cookies. Make sure you get the combo meal as well it is cheaper than ordering chicken and fried rice on the side“

The family running the restaurant has never gotten anything wrong, the food is incredibly delicious, and does not have a ton of oil (as many places in the area do struggle with that a bit). I love ordering Chinese food from here.
Granted I have never ordered delivery and it seems like that’s where a lot of the negative reviews are coming from.
However, pickup has never failed me. They pack the containers to the top and do not skimp on the portions.

My favorites are the Beef Lo Mein, Hot and Sour soup, Beef with Garlic Sauce and Moo Shu Pork

Yes at times when I got to pick up the food there is a bit of wait but not more than 10 minutes. They are always busy in the back so I get it.

Food is good. Period. If you want that classic greasy (in a good way) hearty yummy Chinese food, this is the place in Stamford for me.“

“I order from this place every time I'm looking for a relaxing night in without cooking, cleaning and anything else other than tipping the driver and getting my grub on. The prices are more than decent when considering the quality and great taste. This is my go to when It's cold outside and I worked all day and I have that half bottle of wine wasting away in the cabinet. Can't beat it !“

“We love Shanghai Gourmet! Recently, we did two very large orders. One for a Christmas get-together and the following weekend for a New Year's Eve get-together. Both orders were ready for pickup on time and well packed with nothing missing. During the year, it is THE place for us when we want to order out and has been for many years. “China Moon is a "New York Style" takeout restaurant that literally looks, feels, and tastes like it was lifted from NYC and placed in Norwalk. The outside and the inside don't look great, but the food is awesome. The restaurant even has those faded, backlit menu pics, a staple of NYC takeout restaurants.

Compared to other Chinese restaurants, China Moon is definitely on the cheaper side, but the food is "bussin" as the kids say. Order any othe classics like General Tso's, Sesame, Orange, etc and you will get the desired crispy outside and juicy inside. The soups are great too, and all the food is prepared quickly by the friendly staff. Keep in mind this is NOT your high end, gourmet style place, but if you are craving something quick, cheap and delicious, China Moon is your spot!“
