“Excellent service and great food! We came on a Sunday for a private party, the service was awesome! Everything came out together and the servers did a great job handling 20+ people in the party. A great cocktail menu as well. The Kobe beef burger was excellent!“
“Every plate of food is Good News.Vegetarian options: Burritos, Thai red curry, pasta, salads and more seasonal offerings.Dietary restrictions: Very helpful and willing to do salt restrictions. Gluten-free and vegan and vegetarian options are clearly labeled on the menu.Parking: Right on the Main Street adjacent to a plaza, there is always parking available.Kid-friendliness: Patient staff, flexible menu and lots of yummy desserts for good boys and girls.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps are permanently constructed at entrance.“
“Found this place one day while driving to work, it is definitely one of those hidden gems in Connecticut. It is so nice if you looking for a nice quiet place to have lunch. I tried the truffle fries, which were absolutely delicious. As well as a side of mac n cheese, which wasn’t bad. Definitely would try something else next time I go. Our waitress was great, very attentive and so polite. She definitely went above and beyond.“
“My husband and I went there on a Friday night and it was a nice venue, but we waited between appetizers and main dish for over 45 minutes. What we thought would be a 1 hour meal turned into an over 2 hour meal, just waiting for our entrée. although the food was good we probably wouldn't go back unless we want to sit and wait.“
“First time and the food was great. Good choices for apps, meals, in hand, and desserts. Specials too! Their beef brisket is nice and tender. So much to try next time we go. It filled up fast so might consider reservations. Recommend this place for the food, service and atmosphere.“
“This is my favorite restaurant in town. I’ve been here several times for both dine-in and takeout. The food is fresh and delicious. I love that they use local ingredients and I love that the takeout does not include plastic containers, plastic cutlery, or plastic bags. I also like that the menu changes up from time to time. Staff are always friendly and professional. Thank you for providing such a great dining option in Watertown.“
“2nd time here for dinner, and did not disappoint. Swordfish entree was delicious, and calamari & tuna tartare appetizers as well. The special Manhattan cocktail (“Night at the Roxbury”) was absolutely excellent. Great overall experience & very good service“
“The Farmhouse is the best restaurant around. This co-owned establishment has split the management, one owner on the front end with the other being head chef in the back and it is reflected in the quality of everything they do.From the highest of standards reflected in their sourcing of the ingredients and the preparation of the food all of the way to the service, accomodations and atmosphere I sincerely couldn't say nicer things. Top notch in every way.My husband and I had our after wedding dinner here and front end owner, Michelle who is ever present made everything set for us, reserving their back room with no issue and ultra accommodating to any changes we made to our party number/requests. The service for our group of 26 was on point and the food was exceptional. We have already been back and trust it as our regular, special place. Do yourself a favor and have a meal here! Thanks again to All of You at The Farmhouse ❤️Wheelchair accessibility: My father who cannot handle stairs/steps/inclines was able to handle the logistics of The Farmhouse with ease. It is a straight shot from the parking lot and handicapped spot with no curb of any kind to get into the easily accessible building.“
“I hardly never write reviews but this was my 1st time going here. We were celebrating my birthday and we had such a great experience. The food was so delicious. The prices were decent. The waitress was friendly. The inside was clean and nice looking. We would definitely recommend trying and we will be back. We had chicken and waffles and onion rings.“
“We stopped in for late lunch/early dinner after scoring a walk in at the Smash Room across the street. We did not have reservations, but it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. The hostess was extremely pleasant and helpful. We thought the atmosphere was very inviting, casual and a bit of a throwback. Our server, Scout, was excellent. He provided specialty drink, beer, and food suggestions for those in our party needing some help deciding. The menu is basically tavern fare. The lunch menu is an eclectic mix of pizza, handhelds, salads, and a few entrees. The dinner menu adds more entree choices. Our group had the cauliflower app, drinks, handhelds and salads, which we found all to be very good.Parking: At busier times I can see that the size of the parking can become problematic. Street parking is extremely limited due to the odd intersection location and number of nearby commercial businesses.“
“3 for breakfast on this day. Very nice patio, closed because of time of year. Inside is a typical small breakfast room. Two TVs on with news. We were greeted and treated very well. One plate was a typical scrambled eggs, potatoes and white toast. Wasn't mine but heard it was good. The toast was a thick bread, buttered and toasted well. The potatoes were fresh cut and grilled with onions and spices. Another plate was Huevos Rancheros. The menu has quite a bit of Mexican flavor to it, and it being one of my wife's favorite breakfast to eat out, we thought it was a safe bet. Not the case unfortunately. Partly our fault and partly because the waitress didn't ask, the eggs were over easy and runny eggs are a no-no for her, so it sort of ruined the whole dish. The rest of it was just so-so and quite sparse-no avocado, no salsa or pico and just a small side of re-fried black beans. I had the Protein Bowl special. The only thing wrong with it was that it didn't come in a bowl! This made it a bit more difficult to mix up, but the combination of black beans, quinoa, avocado, fresh pico and two eggs over easy were quite delicious, especially the freshly made pico. The desserts all looked so good but we decided on the mixed berry scone. It's not a scone (meaning it's not dry) but it was very good. Definitely worth another try, likely when the weather is nice again and we can sit outside!“
“The Barnwood is our go to for occasions as well just to eat out. The wait staff are very good . Our orders always arrive promptly, and as ordered. In addition to a well rounded menu there always are wonderful specials. We have never had a meal that we didn't like. The chef is inventive and steps outside of the ordinary with fish and meat selections. The only negative is that the acoustics are dreadful making it noisy when the restaurant fills up.Also the tables for two are small.“
“The lodge reminds me a lot of cheers! You walk in, and everyone starts to know your name… The weight staff is always very friendly and often strike up a conversation which I find something special these days. The food options are always great, and there are always a few specials on the list that catch someone’s eye. The draft beer choices are always rotating and changing which is great; often locally sourced. The bar area is always bustling, and offers a free pool table for patrons. There is also a large covered outdoor dining area for fair weather eating.“
“Uncommon Grill is a restaurant that is energetic and fun! The menu offers a variety of different foods to try. There is a selection of tacos, wings, soups and salads, handhelds and a variety of pastas. The handhelds consist of different sandwiches such as a classic "Uncommon Burger" or a "Chicken Parmesan Sandwich" . Both meals are packed with savory flavors! Not only is the food UNbelievable but the service is top tier. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a worker at the front desk. Then there may be a small wait for a table but it's expected with such a great restaurant! Once you sit down you are served by your waiter/waitress. The service is outstanding. Along with the service the atmosphere is perfect. The music is just loud enough to where you can hear your conversation but sing along with the music if that's what you prefer! Overall Uncommon Grill is an extraordinary local place!“
“I recently attended a private party there. The staff was extremely accommodating to my gluten intolerance issues and made me a separate gluten free meal which was very tasty and included gluten free bread and ice cream for dessert. I highly recommend them.“
“Amazing service is an understatement. The new painted pony restaurant is an amazing place for people of all Ages with events all through the week such as trivia on Tuesdays and bands every Saturday this place has it all. The amazing menu is only beat by the amazing food options. The fries are amazing and while there are many pasta dishes the chicken parm in particular is amazing don’t listen to what the haters say the painted pony is an amazing place for you and the whole family. I will be coming back.Parking: Parking in the front and back no trouble getting in and out.“
“The bartender there was really nice she actually made a point of coming to talk to us just thought that was great. The burgers we had were delicious. The drinks were also very good. Prices were about normal to a bit high but all in all my wife and I had a very nice meal and a couple of drinks. I would highly recommend you check the place out I'll for sure will be going back.“
“Sunset Grille hosted our baby shower of around 60 guests and they did an amazing job. The food was fantastic, the venue was beautiful, and Kathy did a wonderful job planning the event. I would definitely have another event there in the future. Thank you Sunset Grille for doing such a wonderful job!!“
“Marketplace in Newtown provided an exceptional venue for my bridal shower. Sebastian and Ashley, our servers, offered impeccable service with a warm demeanor. Manager Erick went above and beyond, being incredibly kind, reassuring, supportive, and helpful throughout the entire process! The ambiance was delightful, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for any special occasion!“
“We’ve been going to the Rat for 40 years but the food, service and atmosphere has not been nearly as good as it has the last few years since the new ownership took over. Do yourself a favor and stop in at this Southbury landmark! The waitstaff, bar staff and management will certainly take care of you!“
“Went out to dinner here on Friday night. The parking lot was packed. And I know why. This is an old style Italian restaurant. Not fancy but absolutely delicious. I had chicken cacciatore. My wife had a bowl of pasta. My friends had the seafood dishes.the seafood dishes were outstanding. The owner came to our table. They were very friendly. Prices were reasonable, not inexpensive, but not extravagant either. I will definitely come back.“
“For years I thought that the focus of this place was selling dessert pies and pint size beverages (shakes, etc) for families. More like a version of Pie Plate, if you remember them from Waterbury. Then a friend talked about going there and was shocked that I never had been. Once he mentioned the beer selection, I knew that I had to check it out. Unfortunately, I am now moving from the area but I have been going once every week or two for the past year. They really do have a great selection of craft beers on tap and in cans/bottles. A lot of rare beers, as well. I usually grab a small pepperoni & mushroom pizza, have two beers and save the rest for lunch the following day. The staff is amazing and the clientele is a mixed bag. Some chill people but also a lot of cocky people who either are rich or pretend to be rich. This is really odd because there is nothing pretentious about this place. But outside of that, this is my favorite place that I unfortunately only found out isn't a place for desserts, this past year.Parking: The only thing that I would say about parking is to slow down to a creep as soon as your GPS tells you that it is coming up. Very easy to miss because it sits well below street level. And if it is icy, don't even bother trying to make it out that steeper entrance/exit.“
“Hudson’s is a gem of a restaurant located in the Heritage Village section of Southbury. It’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and each of these seating times offer yummy and satisfying selections. If you don’t see exactly what you’re craving, ask the owner/chef Roy and if he has the ingredients, he always try to accommodate (he has so many times for me). He will even throw out ideas he can whip up for you, many coming out of the seafood market he also owns, which is the freshest around (I am primarily pescatarian so I know the quality is excellent).I eat here often and am never disappointed. The owner/chef is amazing at his craft. I could never stress enough how amazing a chef Roy is. Last night, I brought the burrata salad, french onion soup, grilled cheese, a rueben and the chicken pesto panini to a friend’s house and we feasted and incredibly happy! Tonight I will be back for an amazing seafood dinner and a bottle of wine. Yes…. It’s that good that I can go multiple days in a row.Give Hudson’s a try. Your happiness and satisfaction is the chef’s!Dietary restrictions: Offers glutenfree/ gluten friendly options and can adjust many items for this. I am glutenfree and love to have nany diverse choices!“
“Maggie Mcfly's is a giant 2 floor restaurant. The food was good, the French Fries were crispy and the fish on the fish sandwich was nice and flaky. The only reason why I removed a star was because the food was pricy and the portions were too big.“
“I don't know about the food, but we went to the bar several times. The drinks are great, Lauren the bartender is awesome. An Angel who actually takes an interest in her guests. Thank you Lauren we appreciate you, we are the couple from CA“
“The new Chef has made a big difference here. The two apps we had ( crab cakes , rack of lamb ) were delicious, and the mains were tasty and cooked perfectly as well. We topped it all off with a butter cake desert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We would go back to this historic restaurant again.Parking: Plenty of spots to park .“
“I will start by saying that 4 stars is being just a tiny bit generous. My meal was more like a 3.5. First - it's cash only so keep that in mind prior to stopping in. I went in alone - I was shopping in the area but not from town. Rachel's had pretty great reviews and I was really excited about it. Even though it was lunchtime - I decided on the Irish Benny. I looked at the menu for a while. There was nothing truly inspiring on it. I was tossing and turning trying to decide - I was a bit nervous ordering the hash because it didn't say 'homemade' on the menu. I finally asked and was sold on the Irish Benny when I found out the hash wasn't coming out of the can (not that I don't love that from time to time). It was served with a rather small (but fine for me!) serving of home fries. I did ask for them well done but many of them can out burnt. The bread that the Benny was served on was too thick. It was super tough to cut through. I believe it was grilled on the griddle and was overcharrred leaving it with an odd taste. The eggs on top may have been poached but there was barely a runny yolk so it was hard to tell. There was too little hollandaise. Overall - it was all just a bit flat for me. The do squeeze their own lemonade which was refreshing and delicious! The vibe is cute - rustic and cozy. My waiter was nice - attentive and engaging without over doing it.“
