“I’ve probably been to this restaurant 100 times. Not all visits are perfect, which nobody should expect at any restaurant. That said, it is clear they are constantly looking for ways to improve/maintain the food offerings, service and atmosphere.

The recent tweak to the taco Tuesday specials made it more appealing to us- with very affordable add-ons and drink specials and no longer having a minimum order size to take advantage of a reduced price per taco.

The main reason I was compelled to leave this review was our experience last night when we came in for dinner on date night without our kid. My wife ordered their Steak special entree which came with rapini, carrots and potatoes. Portion size was generous, but the taste and quality was outstanding. Would have been pleased to receive this exact dish at a high end steakhouse in Philly.

We most frequently pop in for a quick snack and drink but after such an impressive meal, we will add this to our rotation for date night meals.

“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. “I’m glad to have the chance to post about our comfortable booth and delicious dinner At Chadds Ford Tavern. First, our server, Leo, welcomed us to our first time dining here. He was attentive to our table and gave thoughtful meal recommendations. A lucky find after an afternoon of trekking through the pavilions at Longwood Gardens. My eggplant parm and his fish and chips were very good. The appetizer, tomato/basil pesto flat bread, came out quickly. Crust was just right with crips edges and perfect topping. The decor is true tavern, warm and inviting. Good selection of beers, and ample wine list. This was the perfect spot to warm up on a very cold day. Highly recommend.“

“Went to breakfast this morning after learning it was Greek owned a few weeks ago. I brought my girl's father who is visiting from Greece. we were hoping one of the owners would come over and say hello. George ordered eggs, toast and Canadian bacon which is his favorite. I had a Greek omelette. Both meals were fantastic as well as our friendly server.“

“I had seen their 4.8 rating on google maps for several months. I was a little skeptical. I was happily surprised how good Appleby's was. Let's remember it is a gas station. I am pretty sure it was a husbadn and wife team working. Good taste and amount for price.“

“They were very busy, and the waitress let us know that, and that was absolutely fine. The food was some of the most bland I've ever had at a restaurant. My sister had to add salt, SALT, to her roasted beet salad because it was so lacking in flavor. The roasted pears weren't even cooked all the way, the pistachios on it were overcooked, the Brie was thin and mostly the outside shell with very little taste, and the bread slices were completely burned. The crab cake on the sandwich was tiny, and ice cold in the middle. The turkey apple grilled cheese was not even cooked all the way. The turkey and apple were as cold as ice, and the cheese wasn't even melted. I sent it back to be cooked better, and it came back the exact same temperature. I asked to speak to a manager, and they just took my meal off the bill and didn't even offer to compensate or do it better. The chef is a lazy person and needs to be put in line. someone call in Gordon Ramsay please!“

“Enjoyed my birthday tonight with family and friends. Grew up in Newark and have never eaten here. It did not disappoint. Love the history and the ambience. Our waitress, Piper was phenomenal, .... friendly, accommodating, and very attentive. The food was perfectly portioned and all tasted great. The soft pretzel was wonderful. The Brussel Sprouts was excellent and the short ribs were tender and flavorful. The apple cider mule was a perfect drink to top it all off.“

“This Grill is in The Amish Market. They have table service plus service at the Counter. I had breakfast on Friday and Saturday while getting my car inspected down the road. The quality of the food was not only good, but also tasty. The jelly on the Counter was also very good. Will be back. 🤗👍🏽👋🏽“

We picked this pub randomly because of the name (!) And good reviews. Small parking lot on-site designated for patrons, which is very convenient on this busy street. I would highly recommend stopping in for good food and drinks.“

She was very flexible and accommodating for us. The day of the party everything turned out beautiful. The space is so comfortable and picture perfect! “Very nice little spot tucked away. They serve pizza and other food. I have not tried much of the food yet. I live in smyrna, so it's a hike. They have a huge bar outside by the water. They have live music and a DJ. I will definitely be going back. They only gripe I have was the female bartender being rude to a friend of mine.... other than that, I like the place i definatly need to try the food and get some pictures

Parking: They have valet parking if you pull up to the front there. The valet guy was cool. There are a few parking lots behind the building just drive past the entrance and they are on the right...“

“Administrative details - While you usually must make a reservation a year in advance (which I did), there are a very few earlier spots available on their website. In addition, if you are on the email list, they send the occasional last-minute availability. Talula’s is BYOB. The price was $125 and with all the other things, taxes, gratuities, it came to $160. The Nook Table is available for 6-8 diners and the Farm Table is for larger parties. Website link is below. Everything is presented in “tasting” small portions. In addition to the menu, they provided a couple of additional offerings. I did not do a good job of capturing the delightful descriptions of the food provided by our server. (The next time I go, I will video the descriptions if they allow.) The group did a great job of bringing wine which was beautifully poured in appropriate glassware by our server. The server also paired the wine with the offerings for us! The service was exceptional without being pretentious. After each tasting, plates, utensils and glasses were cleared and refurbished so discreetly that you hardly noticed. The menu changes with the “farm to table” availability. My favorite was a squash tarte. [I was delighted to find that I did not like the foie gras. It is “made” in a most inhumane and horrible way. This is the only time I have eaten it and I will never eat it again.] I was sorry to find that by the Black Garlic Beef Ribeye (#6 on the list), I was getting to the point of “too much food.” The only downsides were “too much food” for most of us and the wines they suggested for the pairings were hard/impossible to find. I personally did not like the varieties of wines they suggested for pairings. The rest of the party enjoyed the comparable wines they were able to find and allowed the server to pair with the tastings. I will be making a reservation for next year very soon. I have already made a reservation for the “sister” Talula’s Garden in Philly for September.“
