“Waxy’s Irish Pub has quickly become one of our absolute favorite spots in Miami. After a long, demanding day at work, my group and I love nothing more than heading straight to Waxy’s to unwind and enjoy their outstanding hospitality.

Whether we’re gathered around the bar or tucked into a cozy booth, the lively yet comfortable vibe is perfect for relaxing and catching up with friends and colleagues.
The food is consistently exceptional. Their fish and chips are a standout—light, fluffy, and incredibly airy with a perfectly seasoned batter and tender fish that bursts with flavor. We also can’t get enough of the bread pudding; it’s nothing short of extravagant, rich, and indulgent, making it the ideal way to end any meal.
What truly sets Waxy’s apart, however, is the service. The servers are incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive, bringing that genuine Irish charm and hospitality to every interaction. Our server Bryanne was especially outstanding—she was attentive, personable, and full of that classic Irish charm that made our evening even more enjoyable. She took great care of our group, made excellent recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish. Instead of just saying I’m sorry and don’t worry about the bill they asks for another card. Now we are having to cancel a card they lost and running late to get my nephew back his broadway show tour at the performance arts center because we are looking for the card. “Being South Philly natives visiting Lauderdale, Pizza, Sandwiches, etc aren’t an easy sell for us in South Florida ! Primanti Bros was an awesome boardwalk style pizza. We tried the plain cheese & we all enjoyed it. We also did breakfast here one day and it was very good as well! A nice diner style breakfast!“

“Freddie’s is a well-equipped a bar for sports enthusiasts: More than a dozen large screens can be tuned to multiple sporting events. As a bar, it had a limited but satisfying beer and liquor selection but offsets that lack of variety with high quality food. The wings are amazing, and there are lots of fried seafood, salads, sandwiches and burgers, all fresher and tastier than you’d expect. This is also a no frills bar for locals, a true neighborhood hangout worth getting to know even if you don’t live in the neighborhood.“

“Obviously the food was amazing. But I must say what made my experience so special was the service we received at the bar. Our seats were bar seats and I am so glad they were. The waitress was so friendly and was there for us every step of the way. She even came out with another plate of food for us after we finished our meals. I never had this level of service. I consider this place to be on the very top of the list for an excellent place to eat at with your friends and family. I even got to shake the hand of the owner before I left. Thank you everyone for your hospitality.“

“This place is the best and most laid back sports bar in Broward and, in my honest opinion, in all of South Florida in general. Let's start with the servers. These ladies are all gorgeous, helpful, diligent, fast, but most of all, friendly and relatable. I've been here about two or three times after discovering this place hidden away on 441 and McNab. And the crazy thing was I'd lived next to this place for years but only found it a few weeks ago. Now I'm a regular for sure, and with no regrets. The liquor is always on point, and the food is great! And the staff is always ready to treat you like a king/queen while they take care of your order in a flash. “Hidden gem for cigar and hookah lovers in Fort Lauderdale. I’m staying at the hotel right above it, and I wish I had discovered this place earlier in my trip!

I originally walked in just to check it out, but I was immediately impressed. They have an extensive cigar selection and a bar stocked with an incredible variety of whiskeys, bourbons, and other spirits. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cigar lounge with a selection this large before.

The lounge itself is comfortable and inviting, with plenty of couches and chairs to relax in while enjoying a cigar. There are TVs throughout as well, which adds to the laid-back atmosphere.

While I was looking through the cigars, the owner came over to help me pick something I’d enjoy. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell he takes pride in the business while still being a very humble, down-to-earth guy. After talking with him, it’s easy to see why this place has been open for 21 years.

Once I picked out my cigar, I headed to the bar for a whiskey. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly knew her craft.

What really surprised me was the huge liquor store connected in the back. They had just about every bourbon, tequila, and spirit you could think of.

Overall, it was the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at the beach — a great cigar, a good whiskey, and a relaxed atmosphere. I’m really glad I wandered in, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Fort Lauderdale. I’ll absolutely be recommending this place to friends as well.“
