“I don't even want to leave a review because everybody's going to see how good it is and things will change. The prices will probably go up or something will change but I hope it stays the same so I'm going to risk it and tell you my honest opinion.

Breakfast: amazing! Best toast and cafe con leche (I get evaporated milk). Eggs were perfect anyway you got them. I had an omelet, and I'm very picky with my omelets, and they nailed it. My husband had two fried eggs and he said they were fantastic and if you think eggs can't be messed up, well they can. I've had them at other restaurants where no matter what you order they'll give them to you hard as rocks or barely cooked so these people definitely know what they're doing. The house potatoes are off the chain.

Right now I can't tell you about lunch or sandwiches because I only remember going there a long time ago for one thing and it was the Vaca Frita. honestly the taste was great but since it had to travel you lose the Frita part only because of the moisture in the container and that's no one's fault. The rice is good but I love sticky rice and that's a preference not a fault of theirs. I remember the maduros being good as well.

Now, the part I hate to put out in the universe. The price. No one in the area comes close. It's seems that you can't get a cheap breakfast anymore and they broke that rule.

The staff. So far every time we've been attended to they've been very nice, fast, efficient and attentive. I like the fact that it's a small restaurant and I think this is what keeps things at their prices and the service the way it should be.

I don't know if the cook is the owner but I've seen him there every time and he always seems to be mindful of everything. it's a young guy (well compared to my age)

If you pay cash it's a little cheaper but not that big of a difference.

I haven't had any sides other than the chicken croqueta and that's the only thing I'm not crazy about.

I also had a chicken empanada. it was delicious and had lots of filling. My husband had the ham and said it was real good but could use more filling but, being a cook, I know that even if you fill it up once it goes into the oven the cheese melts and looks like it has less.

So final answer: this place is great. Don't tell anyone else. 😉

I ordered the Bistec a Caballo con Papitas, and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, the portion was generous, and the crispy potatoes complemented it perfectly.
