“Went to the Lakeland Fred’s the other day with my old auntie who lives in the area. I’m a Riverview Fred’s but this one was pretty good. They had the Swiss steak and gravy which I have never seen at my Fred’s. I sure do love it (hint-hint, clue -clue).Steak was tender and the gravy perfect. I wanted to go back for more but I have limited myself in order to keep this girlish figure. In keeping with tradition, the buffet was plentiful. It was like an old school family reunion or Sunday dinner after church at your granny’s. Fried and baked chicken and fish, ribs, chicken and dumplings, mashed potato’s, rice, grits, black eyed peas with snaps, tomatoes, tomatoes and okra, cabbage, greens, fried green tomatoes, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, corn bread, yeast rolls, green beans, a full old fashion salad bar, soups, and a dessert bar. I feel like heading back over there right now. It was good, let me tell you. If you like southern food you won’t go wrong at Fred’s.“

“It is our favorite sushi place in town by far (and we have a lot of sushi places here)! Fish is always fresh, rolls are creative and delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the service is great. Honestly, this restaurant is in my top 5 Lakeland restaurants. I've had foodie friends from NYC visit and thoroughly enjoy their meals here. My 14-year-old daughter has been obsessed with this place since I introduced her to the Out of Control Roll (my go-to). I highly recommend it.“

“Was in town watching dogs for someone, and saw that this place A) exists and B) has cheesesteaks. I will try a cheesesteak anywhere, even if gunfire is happening around me. Thankfully, this restaurant is in a no fire zone. But for this sandwich, it would be worth the risk and the added expense of kevlar. I kid you not, their “Awesome Philly Sub” is that and more. I can’t remember eating a better cheesesteak in 2 decades, and I’ve most certainly tried. Two thumbs up isn’t quite enough… I’ll have to borrow some extra thumbs from my enemies to add to the score. Highly recommended! And I’m a cheesesteak snob… they conquered my appetite and I’ll most definitely be back when I’m out this way again. If you live in Lakeland and love sandwiches and HAVEN’T TRIED THIS PLACE, you are missing out and are making a bald eagle cry. I can’t prove that second one, but it sounds legit.“

“Had a lovely late lunch today. Our waitress, MacKenzie, was great! The beef and ginger potstickers were delicious! Loved the lemon drop martini and the parmesean crusted rainbow trout wonderful. I especially was happy to see the broccoli florets cooked soft enough and yet not mushy. My husband loved his blackened salmon. We will be back!“

I called before we came in to discuss a corn intolerance- spoke with the manager who advised they could accommodate and even let me know they could use a separate oven if needed for cross contamination issues! “Just left. 1/17/2025. Food is excellent but….service tonight was horrible. Never refilled water glasses, my husband got the burrito and asked for some queso to put over it. The girl brought him shredded cheese! Gave us a container for the guacamole and the wrong lid. In between each request we wondered if our waitress was coming back. Finally brought the bill and once again never came back. We finally took the bill to the front to pay. I love their food but when the service is bad it ruins everything 👎“

The place is decorated with cute seafood art. I recommend going during happy hour for the $10 burger. And I would definitely order the jalapeño soup again!“
