“I’ve eaten there a couple times and every time delicious! I had the chicken egg foo young today and it was so good. Light and not too dense. The fried rice that comes with it is so great! Love this place. Finally a good Chinese place near home.“

“China Taste on Van Dyke is hands down one of the best local Chinese restaurants around! The food is always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish tastes made-to-order, with generous portions and great prices that make it an easy favorite for takeout nights.
Their egg drop soup is especially amazing — rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned, with that classic silky texture that’s hard to get just right. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Pair it with their lo mein, sesame chicken, or fried rice and you’ve got a perfect meal.
The staff is friendly, quick, and always welcoming. Whether you call ahead or order in person, the service is fast and reliable, and your food is always ready when promised.
If you’re in the Lutz or Van Dyke area and craving great Chinese food, China Taste is a must-try. Delicious food, great service, and unbeatable consistency — definitely a five-star spot!“

“I came in for lunch and a young girl helped me make my plate. I've never been to Panda Express before and had no idea what to get. Melody greeted me with a smile and helped me make the most delicious 😋 plate! I'll definitely be back again due to the exceptional customer service I received from her.“

“We went for dinner tonight on Mother's Day based on Google Reviews. The food was a beautiful, fresh, and DELICIOUS! The owner came out to see how everything was and gave us a little background story & family history (which I always love). Super friendly, family oriented. DELICIOUS! Try it!! Tell your friends. Definitely a hidden gem 💎“

“This is one of those places where I rarely ever see non-Asian people. The menu is mostly in Chinese and it’s hard to understand. This is probably why it’s not super crowded. however, this place is special. first the skewers. This is a northern Chinese restaurant and the flavors are influenced by Mongolia. The lamb skewer was delicious. The chicken skewer was delicious. Both with notes of cumin and perhaps coriander seed. The squid skewer was delicious and spicy with hints of miso. If you order a bowl of rice and five skewers, you have yourself a quick delicious meal for 12 bucks. The sweet and sour pork was unique. Not like any other “regular” Americanized one and should be tried. The mapo tofu was delicious and no holds barred. Very spicy.“

“Ordered to-go from Liang’s Bistro pretty much by accident. I was in the area and wanted Asian to go but not Chinese or Ramen or Sushi. Limits the options, yes. Went here hoping it was more than a typical Chinese takeout shop. It turned out to be a bistro, as it is called, with a pretty and warm interior, table-side service and an impressive wine storage along one wall. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a large but not overwhelming menu. I chose yellow curry chicken, Thai basil with tofu and a pad Thai dish as well as shrimp lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious even though it was an hour before I made it home for us to eat dinner. What I like best is they do a little of everything - Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and even noodles and poke without offering so many of each kind that you know it’s going to be awful. The manager took great care of me, mentioning that this is their second location after a long stint in Tampa and that the business is owned by a Chinese individual who is adamant about serving Asian food, rather than just his country’s dishes. I liked it and look forward to taking my family and friends. Feels comfortable and is affordable. I spent $62 to feed four people and we have leftovers in the fridge.“

“Delicious! I had sweet and sour chicken, and it was such a light, crisp batter that made the dish was so tasty! My husband had pepper steak and all he should do was rave. The egg rolls were crispy and dee-lish, as well as the pork fried rice. A delightful dinner. The staff was present, but not overbearing and the chef came out to check that all was to our taste. So nice!“

“Place I go to when I need Chinese food being that I’ve tried a lot of others and this place is just great at what they do and it’s clean. I’m always going there and they’re cleaning and it’s great. Yes, they have been times where there was a kid doing his homework off to the side so that means this place hits.“

“Writing down this review because im a picky eater and I keep forgetting what I like. Honey chicken is sweet in sour chicken (deep fried in a tempura batter) tossed in a sweet sauce. I'm not a fan of the bourbon chicken (got it years ago and never tried it again since); the mongolian chicken is stir fried. Orange, sesame, and general tso chicken uses the same chicken base (dark meat chicken with lots of nooks and crannies for the sauce to hold to); orange sauce is sweet and spicy, sesame is not sweet and doesnt rely on sesame oil (which i like), and general tso is not sweet and mostly a spicy chili sauce (either there was a different dish that was sweet and spicy or this dish got less sweet over time). Lo mein is in the takeout containers while chow mein is in a plastic container and is very wet. Mixed vegetables are served in a dark sauce.“

“We ordered delivery from Hong Kong a few weeks ago after an exhaustive search for *good* Chinese food. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality, so we ordered again last night.
This place does not disappoint. We got the Chicken Fried Rice and The Four Seasons, and both dishes were excellent quality. The proteins they use are great quality and you can tell they are using fresh vegetables. They're crisp and perfectly cooked.
You get a lot of food for the price you pay as well. Delivery was on time (a few min early, actually).
This is our new go-to spot for Chinese food. Please keep up the quality, great prices and portions, and friendly service!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Wow! The service was outstanding, with our meal being delivered directly to our hotel room door. The portion sizes were also notably generous. While the entire meal was delightful, the egg roll filling was not to my personal taste. I highly recommend this establishment for its exceptional service and value.“

“I lived in the Carrollwood/Citrus Park area for about 11 years and China Wok was always our go-to Chinese place. This isn't a restaurant where you would likely want to sit and eat although you can. They are best suited for take-out and delivery and they were always quite reliable and consistently good. Portions are good-sized and ingredients always fresh. China Wok was always sensitive to and delivered on special requirements- leaving out certain ingredients or adjusting recipes to meet taste or dietary needs.
If you live in the area, I highly recommend China Wok for take out and delivery as I found it was the best Chinese restaurant in the area.“

“China Star never disappoints! Their fried special rice is my absolute favorite; flavorful, perfectly cooked, and packed with fresh ingredients. This is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving great Chinese food!“

“Best Chinese takeout in Tampa! My food is always fresh and crispy like I asked. The sweet tea is excellent, always greeted with a smile, AND THEY SELL CHEESESTEAK ROLLS!!! 😋 Also I like that the condiments you can get yourself. So when I need extra sauce no biggie or extra charge. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“This is my go-to take out Chinese. They're always quick with the orders. It's usually ready when I get there, and it's always tasty. The people who work their are always polite. I have yet to have a problem.Definitely recommend you order ahead. This IS the pick-up spot in my opinion. At least in my neck of the woods.
Vegetarian options: Mixed vegetables are great. Haven't tried their bean curds, but if everything else is an example, it should be awesome.“

“This is my go to spot in Tampa, they’re always so quick and on point. The food is bomb, I always get the General Tso dinner combination (photos attached) and love the eggrolls have actual veggies in it and not that weird mushy stuff most Chinese restaurants do. 10/10 would recommend“

“I came through the drive through to pick up my App order and the lady says she can't find it because the App is down. I explained that it had processed the order and won't let me cancel. She keeps telling me the money will automatically go back to my card but there's nothing she can do to help me. I ask to speak with a manager. “I still think Golden China on dale mabry is the best. However, this is a decent taste when I don’t want to drive far and their hot oil sauce is better. Other than that the shrimp is WAYYY TOO SMALL AND thats why they don’t get 5 stars. They may not be using saffron to make rice yellow but my other spot does. You can taste the difference in the rice. Overall not horrible compared to new china“

“I've been going to HoHo Choy since the location on Ehrlich was open. It closed about 20 years ago. Fletcher is the original, and it's still the best.
No one does giant, stretchy, delicious sesame + sweet red bean dimsum like they do. Daikon cakes are perfect. I make rice at home but sometimes... I need their veggie fried rice with extra bean sprouts.
Yeah, the krab rangoon are quite good. They aren't bready or weirdly sweet and cake-like on the outside, the way some places make them. The outside is crisp and folded into squares for a pocket of filling. But that's really low on the list of what I go for.
I know some people don't like how long something takes but the wait is worth it. They run a small restaurant, not a McDonald's. That's why the food comes out so well.
I've never seen many people eating in the dining room. It's open and calm, very basic layout and minimal decor- which to me, means a lot more cleaning. Ick. HoHo Choy keeps it simple. Take-out is made to order. Try something you've never had before! Try the dimsum menu!“

“I’ve been getting takeout from here, off and on, for years. Usually, it’s just okay. Quality seemed inconsistent. However, today was different. Everything was so much better. I usually do not get my favorite, shrimp and lobster, because the shrimp tastes old or over cooked. Tonight was different. It was so good. Cooked perfectly and had a wonderful garlic taste. Not sure what they’ve done but I hope they keep doing it.“

“Consistently good food.
Store becomes overwhelmed rather quickly during high volume periods. This results in extended wait times & occasional mistakes in order. The store has always made corrections honorably. Quality has always been consistent.“

“I recently visited this delightful Chinese spot that truly impressed me with their flavorsome dishes. The pork gyoza had a perfect pan-fried crispness and a succulent filling, a well-deserved 8/10. The shrimp fried rice was a standout, with generous portions of shrimp and just the right amount of seasoning, easily a 9/10. While the French fries strayed from the traditional menu, they were decent but not remarkable, so I'd give them a 6/10. The pork and rice dish was hearty and flavorful, earning a solid 7/10. And the General Tso's chicken? It was a savory delight with just the right kick of heat, an 8/10 for sure. Overall, this place is a great choice for a satisfying meal, and I'd rate it an 8/10. Would recommend it to anyone craving a Chinese feast with a few familiar favorites on the side.“

“My husband and I took a road trip to FL. We were staying in Tampa and i wanted to try some Chinese food. Boy am I glad I stopped here. Hands down the best BBQ boneless ribs combo. The pork fried rice was flavorful, and the pork was chopped in thin pieces just how I love eating it and service was quick. I could eat that combo every day. It did not disappointment me.“

“Was debating between this and Sarku Japan, but the lady handing out free samples swung me to China 88 and I’m glad she did! The chicken is delicious and very meaty. I was concerned the general Tso would be too bready, but it had plenty of meat unlike a certain panda themed Asian chain that sells fried bread with sauce and calls it orange ‘chicken’. The Mongolian chicken (the forked one in the pic lol) was very savory and the sauce had really good flavor. The spicy bourbon had a nice kick to it, but I would’ve liked it more if it was a little spicier. I got the 3 meat plate combo with sautéed veggies as well as 2 sugar biscuits for $18, which I think is a solid deal for what I got. Generous portions and the lady was really nice. I highly recommend checking them out.“

“This is one of my favorite spots to eat. The customer service is good. They have a nice selection to choose from and I think it is definitely worth the price, especially with the lunch rate. Typically, in my experience, the wait time isn’t that long either (for lunch or dinner), which is another plus because it often is busy here“

“As "Taste of China" is close to our new residence in Town n' Country we wanted to check the quality, freshness and taste.I generally do not believe in all reviews online, neither especially very good nor very bad ones but like to make my own experiences. As former world travelling engineer I know how different but also how good Chinese Dishes can taste from Mainland China over Hong Kong and Germany up to USA.This little place deliveres surprisingly extraordinary fresh (no frozen veggies!!!) and very tasty and same time sufficiantly well portioned and so far satisfying meals.Long story short: My wife and I recommend it!“

“I'm not sure how these places work, but many of them look identical. That being said, service and food even is always a little different. Staff here was friendly and easy to work with. She makes me feel luvd when i come inn after work. Its hard to explain. The food is 3.5-4.5/5 depending on what you get. Some dishes are better than others.
