“Great food, service, and atmosphere!“

“Wow! What an impressive evening at every level. Do not hesitate and book this restaurant for your next food adventure. The moment you walk into this establishment, you know the vibe is cool and these people know their food & spirits. The food is incredible and different than the typical Sarasota restaurant that has the same boring food offerings. I was impressed with the Iberico pork dish and unusually amazingly flavored vegetables and spices that accented the smoky, tender pork. The yuca side dish was similar to a potato but more flavorful and crispier mixed with an addition of corn, pickled cabbage and other vegetables. I haven't found a dish that impressed me more in recent years. The crispy salmon was a "oh wow" moment for my friend, who hails from the Pacific Northwest as do I, where Washingtonians know a thing or two about salmon. This restaurant provides your palate something different and if you're a veteran of dining out constantly, this is a welcomed change from the ordinary. The New York steak included an amazing demi glaze exploding with flavor and had the perfect consistency which can be a challenge to make right but State Street Eatinghouse + Cocktails got it right. I highly recommend the fried Brussell sprouts appetizer as they were a flavor explosion in our mouths. The bacon amplified the sprouts with the accompaniment of the balsamic glaze. My friend's husband and mine, who usually don't like this vegetable, were pleasantly surprised and ate more than the obligatory "try one" bite. State Street Eating House + Cocktails is owned by the same people that introduced us to tapas restaurant "Beso", which I recently tried, and awarded it my "Best Restaurant in Sarasota" award. This restaurant belongs in the "Restaurant Hall of Fame" of Sarasota or even US restaurants. I love it! My waiter, Dana, was super attentive and impressive. His vast knowledge of the drink and food menu was spot-on and his candor and expertise added to the whole evening's experience. What an amazing restaurant! I can't wait to book my next reservation and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Cheers! Dietary restrictions: I appreciate they were mindful of my cow's milk allergy which makes eating out difficult since most dishes have butter and/or cheese. “We had dinner at Siegfried's Restaurant on Feb. 26th - our third meal there and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. The schnitzel and sauerbraten are both excellent, as are the sides and desserts. The staff is warm and engaging and we were so happy to meet and speak with the chef/owner. The restaurant is in one of the cozy-looking cottages on Fruitville Rd and is the perfect setting for this authentic German restaurant. Be sure you make a reservation and be prepared to enjoy a fantastic German meal!“

“Absolutely the BEST ice cream around. As a family we drive an hour nearly every week to eat Jake's ice cream...YES, it's that good! Incredibly kind owner and staff as well, this place is a must visit if in the Sarasota area (and beyond!) Once you've tasted Jake's ice cream it's hard to ever eat anything else, he's raising the standards for homemade ice cream with every flavor - although we all have our favorites we've never tried one we didn't like!! (My personal favorite is Salty Turtle)“

“I visited this store with my girlfriend because she saw the “key lime pie” sign on 41. We turned around and got it and it was very good (one of the slices was frozen but when it thawed it was good). We also had the key lime truffles and they were WAAY too sweet. However, the key lime pie was so good my girlfriend went back and got some. The first time we went, the girl said she could cut it into 6 or 8 if we bought an entire pie. When my girlfriend requested it to be cut, she said that she wasn’t able to. We’re confused why that was. For a $30 pie, requesting to get it sliced doesn’t seem like a big ask. It was also frozen.“

“I had an amazing experience at 99 Bottles! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and they have a fantastic selection of drinks for everyone. But what really made our visit stand out was Bart, our server.

From the moment we sat down, Bart went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. But you'd be surprised how many servers don't think before placing forks/knives etc in front of infants and toddlers. Kevin gets 5 stars for being a proper waiter.

Our food came out promptly, all ingredients were fresh and cooked correctly. Notable standouts for our food were the ranch dressing on the BLT salad and the black beans side dish. “Visiting Sarasota and needed a place to have a quick bite, saw Sun King Brewing and got my interest. They don't have a kitchen, but there was a food truck that had New Haven Style pizza (I'm told that the crust is charred is the technique). My mum and grams finished the 2 boxes of pizza they ordered.

Back to the brewery, the bartender was super helpful since my grams hasn't been to a brewery in awhile. Sun King has alot of drinks that are fruity, sweet or taste like ice cream. My favorite was the Orange Cream Ale because it's exactly like the ice cream when I drank as part of a flight. In 1 pint form, the taste gets a little diluted. The Lollipop Watermelon would have to be my second go to, sweet, but tarty. Ended up buying a pack of beer because of the cute dog/cat designs, can't wait to try it back at home!!“

“Quality of food. Life long member of the owners from Adrian Michigan. I don’t understand when I read comments as for “not authentic Mexican ingredients”. Does the sign not say “Tex-Mex”? In Adrian Michigan we have a large migrant population that prefers other Mexican restaurants over the grasshopper. Huge reason is that the taste buds of visiting Mexicans are used to hot, very hot. As I live here in Mexico I cannot sample any hot sauce because it’s too hot. So I bring my own hot sauce with me when I eat out. I don’t consider the menu as Tex Mex. The family founders brought recipes from Mexico but again, had to tone down the spicy seasoning for the northerners. HOWEVER, if you ask for the extra hot seasoning, they will make you a dishes that will set your mouth on fire upon request. I can’t explain the next topic, but that no one has complained but their menu prices that seem to never increase. As for the cheese dipping sauce? I haven’t been to the Sarasota location. But it’s a wise-tail in Adrian that the cook staff has to sign NDA’s just to know the recipe. Everyone has tried to replicate it but no one has ever gotten it correct. Linda/co-owner has been a lifelong full-time employee that worked every day beside her now ex husband that runs and operates the original Adrian Michigan establishment where his parents created the restaurant. She only hires the best staff and the staff are lifelong dedicated employees. In Adrian, no one visits for the decorations or environment because it’s nothing close to impressive, they visit for the food and service and the staff that brings you refills before knowing that you need one.“
