“This little gem was a massive surprise. I just happened to Google sushi restaurants nearby as I was trying to find a place to grab a bite to eat while rush hour traffic died down. So glad Google led me here! The sushi is fresh and delicious! Beautiful presentation and top-notch service. I would recommend this place to anyone. I just wish I lived close enough to come over and over and over again.“
“Great variety and selection as well as very reasonable prices. The portions are extremely generous and we usually have left overs!Parking: The parking is very accessible and I have found a spot every time I have been here.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant is very kid friendly. It is a calm vibe and is great for all ages.“
“My husband and I absolutely love this place. We come here regularly for their $12 dinner special. For $12 you get 3 types of rolls, a side, and miso soup. Not only is it a great deal, but their food tastes amazing. This is a small family owned business and the owners have always been friendly and attentive to us. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but that is just what I love about it and it’s cozy inside. Our favorite dinner roll is their Tampa roll - simple and delicious.“
“This was my first visit to BG Robata Sushi and I was impressed with both the food and the kindness of service. The restaurant itself is located in Bayside Bridge Plaza, near the center corner. The interior of the restaurant was open, airy and clean. Very comfortable and welcoming with a traditional sushi restaurant feel (No TVs, or gaudy decorations). Calm jazz and traditional music discreetly filled the air. There's a large comfortable bar, which I chose (though it does not have a footstep, so I used a neighboring chair for this purpose since I'm short). An open area kitchen behind the sushi bar was a pleasant surprise. There was table seating with half-booth style benches against the wall. No true booths though, for those that may be wishing a more secluded eating experience. I actually prefer this though my wife (who was not with me at the time) always prefers booths.I ordered Asahi beer with the sashimi lunch special and a side Japanese bagel roll. The sashimi special (pictured) was quite delightful as they included octopus, conch and crab salad with the traditional tuna, salmon, yellow tail, and escalar. These were bedded on fresh, crisp lettuce and beautifully displayed. It also included soup or salad. I chose the miso soup which came out nicely hot and flavorful. All the sashimi was clearly fresh and well kept.A wonderful eating experience!Parking: Typical shopping center parking.Kid-friendliness: Several high chairs were visible.“
“First time here tonight. Definitely won't be the last. Very unassuming from the front, tucked into the corner of a strip mall. Pleasantly surprised how nice the inside was. Great decor and ambiance and clean! Excellent service and food was the best anywhere in the Tampa area. Ten thumbs up!“
“Very nice place, convenient free parking with enough spots. Service is outstanding, absolutely affordable prices, rich menu and the most important - great option of "all-you-can-eat"!We loved this place and we definitely come back! The food was very tasty within great choice!“
“Pete's is our favorite restaurant in Mad Beach! The sushi and poke bowls are fresh and high quality. The staff work hard and are very kind. They opened a second location next to the Sweet Brewnette. I highly suggest trying them the next time you are in the mood for sushi!“
“Just had brunch and it was amazing! Our group got a few things and shared and we loved it all. Crab omelette, stuffed French toast, the bowl and last but not least the breakfast sandwich. The food was a 10/10 but the service I can’t even rate. Joey might have been the best server I have ever had, anywhere. Kind, friendly and attentive! Can’t go wrong eating here any time of the day. For the cherry on top, ask for Joey!“
“We have been a fan of this food for over 2 years now, making a point to venture out to find the trucks while out around town. And were so excited to have a Tampa location. The food is amazing and there's nothing else like it. We aren't mad at the pricing because the portions are HUGE, we always get Bang Bang Chicken and something else to try so that eventually we'll taste the entire menu. Everything is always hot and fresh made to order. The only downside, is the employees unfortunately aren't always the friendliest, which sometimes puts a damper on the experience.“
“My family was obsessed with Kaiko's in countryside back in the day and I have been dying to have that again. So when I saw that Charlie opened another restaurant I was so excited. And it did not disappoint. It was the same amazing food I remember having at kaikos. Charlie is the best! Staff was so helpful and friendly. I had the Mexican roll and super crunchy roll. It was amazing. 10/10. Hopefully he still does the Scott roll cause I'm asking for that next time I come!!!“
“This place was amazing! The staff was clean, fast and friendly. Jordan was a great host very accommodating. This is my first time within the building. Answered all my questions before I began ordering. definitely coming back! highly recommend!“
“Yaki-mono is a must for delicious food, awesome service & great atmosphere.Top spot. We will absolutely come back EVERYTIME.Dietary restrictions: I am glucose intolerant and was able to substitute rice noodles. The food is outstanding. Filling and delicious.Parking: Parking here was no problem. Visible signs warn people about towing. As long as you can read, you're safe.“
“I’ve been enjoying Sushi Rock Grill for a very long time. Anytime I’m in the area I always make sure to stop by and enjoy their creations.I had the Sushi Nachos and the Volcano Lobster. I also enjoy The Pear chilled sake.Wonderful meal as always.“
“Sake selection is was excellent and unusual. The fish was fresh, rolls a decent size, decent price, and the staff were kind and attentive.Look past the fact that it’s in a strip mall, because this place can compete with any sushi place around.“
“After another favorite spot closed, I tried to find another that had just as good food. This is it. The owners are absolutely awesome and make great food with good portions. Definitely less expensive than other places, especially paying for a show, but I highly recommend trying their food!“
“The food was excellent, we had the sirloin and the chicken, sooo good. Service was good, we had a young man serving that did a great job. Very personable. Really the only down side was the cold wind coming through the windows, this restaurant is roof top and open air. I'm sure on warmer days it is amazing. Beautiful views of the bay.“
“This is my favourite sushi place. I eat here all the time because I love sushi but I do not like the raw fish. They have a lot of fish-less options and meatless options. This is weird but I am also obsessed with their house salad dressing… it’s addictive. If I want to eat sushi this is the only place I go to.Vegetarian options: Sweet potato roll (cream cheese)Avocado roll (cream cheese)banana roll (cream cheese)veggie roll“
“Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere! The rolls were fresh and beautiful and I recommend the wagyu appetizer as well. Absolutely coming back!Wheelchair accessibility: Small step outside to get in. Don't doors open on both sides and lower tables with individual chairs“
“The service here was amazing. One of the best sushi places in the St Pete/Tampa area. The taste of the maki rolls here are delicious. I have been looking for a sushi place to go to and I have now found my new favorite place to get my sushi fix from now on! I highly recommend everyone to try this place!“
“Mollie and Chuck were amazing tonight! We celebrated family and a birthday. We had people who flew in from different locations to celebrate, and the staff helped us with the surprise! Thank you for being apart of our memories with Amazing food and staff!“
“Don’t let the run down strip mall scare you…. I can only tell ya about Hibachi and I’d tell ya to not hesitate! They got that down, chefs are very personable, quality of food was good, salads were better than portions are ridiculously big! Now from someone that’s been to hibachis everywhere across the USA I’m gonna give ya a few pointers that you can implement moving forward. 1. When the entire table requests no onions that mean no onions PERIOD. That doesn’t mean no onions in food but it’s ok to bring out the onion choo choo train (putting onion juice on the grill before you cook the meat). 2. Never just hand the guests to go boxes and a bag and expect them to pack up their own take homes. They are paying for the experience of eating out so don’t be lazy and box up your guests leftovers especially since it’s the last impression you leave the guest with. You can do everything right and then botch the ending and that one thing is all they remember. 3. I think I would train the chefs to ask a head a time how the table wants their meal seasoned not everyone will be keen on heavy garlic or butter and it could very well ruin someone meal. 4. Now this one happen to me and personally I don’t care but for future guest I would handle your birthday policy a hell of a lot different ESPECIALLY since your a Habachi place (lots of birthdays) If someone comes in with a birthday simply handle the rules up front! Say “Great, as long as today is your birthday it’s on us or we take 20 bucks off”. No need to try and be sneaky and interrogate during the meal it’s not cool to do. It is perfectly fine if your rules say only on the actual birth date. Now here’s a golden goose tip for you to get more reviews (yes, you need more reviews) and implement this starting TOMORROW! Hibachi diners only: Give a $20 dollar credit off entire bill on next visit (add in rules) - Minimum Order Value - Must show Google Review from first visit. Now you get a repeat customer and a much needed review. Also run a local Facebook no need to let Kobe take all the customers because honestly your food was better and f*ck over price chains!“
“I used to come to this sushi restaurant often many years ago, but I'm sad to say I haven't been here in a hot minute with all the new sushi places opening :(. Thankfully, my niece was craving sushi and picked Ichiban so I was excited to try them out after all these years. They are currently only open for take out. We placed our order in by phone and picked up shortly after. Updated menu is online. We ordered the SHRIMP VOLCANO, GATOR ROLL, and TUNA TORNADO. My niece is normally a volcano lover, but this time she fell in love with the GATOR ROLL. It was saucy and generously covered with krab sticks. We will definitely be ordering that roll again. The other rolls were also good -- rolled tightly and just the right amount of rice. I also ordered tuna nigiri and was happy that it was good quality and fresh tasting. Will have to order again to try out some of their newer rolls. Definitely recommend trying them out.“
“I've been here a few times now an every time I come here their sushi is awesome! Waitress I had today was great. The place wasn't noisy at all. Great place for Sushi. I've had some sushi that us just so so an that's not the case here! Enjoy because I do!“
“So I order to go from them once in a whileEach time I order they call my cell from the street to co.e and take the food.... for some reason they don't come to the front door. I also noticed that each time I come outside they on the phone probably making sure nothing happens to them so they want to leave the phone on??Anyway the food is usually ok bu my last order it was a mess . The veggie lo main looked like they just throw it in the box and I ordered a large meal. Before I used to get more and split it but this time I think it was small. The sushi is ok but no matter how many different sushi you order they put them all in the same box!!!“
“Everything about this place was amazing. Very personal and the staff were incredibly welcoming. The freshness of the fish was top notch. Worth every penny! I wish I lived near by so I could enjoy this delicacy all the time. Definitely a top highlight of my visit to Florida!“
“This was a delight. The menu contained more options than usual for an all-you-can-eat spot, which we enjoyed. The coconut shrimp were deliscious. If you are expecting coconut shreds, be forewarned.... These are not that. However, the light coconut sauce drizzled on top adds to the flavor. The rolls were fresh, and the rice was very flavorful. The only complaint I had was for the crab rangoon. The wonton wrappers were fried very hard. And, the eel sauce, eh...Overall, it was a great place with many options. We will return!!!“
“This is a local hole in the wall. It’s not fancy, but the food is GREAT and service is always timely and polite. The fish is fresh, soups are hot, tempura is crispy and not overly greasy. Shame on the people who complain about food being cold when they clearly ordered a take-out meal. Prices are more than fair. I hope to keep coming here year after year.“
“Visiting the area and was looking for Sushi for dinner. Found that they were close by. After I arrived I asked for suggestions for rolls with Salmon. After ordering the suggestions I got it to-go and headed back to my hotel to eat. I was VERY happy with the rolls. The Salmon was fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice.“
“AMAZING food! This place was right by our Air BNB and I’m surprised it wasn’t on their recommendations list (I’ll be sure to encourage them to update that!)Great chicken fried rice, and we had like 3 different rolls all of which were exception! Can never go wrong with crab ragoons and theirs were awesome! Thanks Jimmy, def coming back when I’m in the area again!“
