“This is the best lobster roll I have ever had in my life and it’s worth every penny. The mouth watering lobster on the perfectly light toasted roll just fabulous. Great outside area to sit and cool upstairs also if you want to be inside . I was there a few Saturdays back in the day and saw such a cool Reggae band that even boosted the atmosphere more . Great service. The manager Caleb was very accommodating to myself and my family.“

“Disclaimer: I’m a native Texan, traveling on vacation.
This place offered an elevated dining experience. It wasn’t your typical local food joint. We only had appetizers and drinks, but that was enough to know it was exactly what our foodie hearts were craving.
We tried two craft cocktails—the Double Vision and the Lavender Haze. Whoever came up with the idea of mixing carrot, ginger, whiskey, and fennel was pure genius. It was such an exciting drink, perfectly made—we could’ve easily had a few more. The lavender drink was equally refreshing and intoxicating.
Small menu - which we love. We like when restaurants perfect everything, instead of a large menu where everything is mediocre.
We enjoyed the fish and sausage egg roll.
I’m a Minorcan chowder girl, and I could’ve easily swum in a bathtub of that tasty conch soup. It was that good.
The atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful, setting the perfect vibe for an intimate experience. Everything about the vibe was just right.“

“What a gem St Augustine has in its’ midst! We recently visited the fine establishment after reading previous reviews and was overwhelmed by the kindness and expertise of the owner! We were novices and had never prepared blue crab before. Instead of being annoyed at our lack of knowledge, he explained at great length and in easy to understand detail, how to prepare his delicious crab in several different ways. We served up a delightful, delicious meal that evening! The seafood was exceptional! He and his small business is a real asset to the community! You won’t be disappointed!!!!“

“We had no prior knowledge of Blackfly. We chose it because it was close to our rental.  We smiled as soon as we walked in the side door leading to the bar area and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. The further we entered the very well decorated restaurant the more we knew we had made a good choice.  To us, the best reason to visit St. Augustine is dining at the Blackfly!  We went all out and had drinks,  appetizers, their version of Coquille St. Jacques and their Chilli lime shrimp. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection with exceptional sauces. Main course was a Chef's Special which was baked shrimps, scallops over a bed of thai noodles and a sauce to die for.  I had the bone in Pork chop cooked medium rare and it was delicious.  Blackfly has a vast selection of wines in their wine cellar and we enjoyed a nice Honig sauvignon blanc.   Kudos to Matt, our server, who throughout the evening gave us the right amount of attention and space to relax for our entire dining experience.  The food was so good and well prepared that I was compelled to go to the kitchen to thank the staff and gave a large tip for the kitchen staff . Our evening at Blackfly was the highlight of our trip.  Thank you Vaughn and staff, you have an outstanding establishment.“

Well let me tell you the 2 bartenders Taylor & Lena were the best!! So fun watching them being “mixologists”….so good!! They were so sweet too! Waitress Izabella was also very kind and super friendly and prompt. she also gives good recomendations on what to try! I stopped here on a whim was passing through this town as staying in Jacksonville for the week for work. I must say may stop in again was so good! Waitress recommended the Covina pan fried ..... First time I have ever had....I must say I'm a little obsessed with it now. I read alot of reviews and thought should I stop because alot were not good..... but they gotta be a bunch of Karen's or have no taste buds. By far this place surpasses my expectations. “Stopped in today on the way back from Crescent Beach. My stomach growled while I looked at the menu and this place did not disappoint. Super friendly service from the barmaid who recommended the mahi fish tacos with black beans and rice. The soft taco was deliciously crisp/browned lightly for texture and crunch. Inside were perfectly spiced chunks of real mahi drizzled with a yummy creamy sauce. The beans and rice were also really good, a spicy yet almost sweet seasoning that definitely didn't taste box-made. I am going to return to try the bangers & mash sometime soon. I'm new to the area and felt really at ease here. Highly recommend !“

“My husband and I live in Palm coast and when we make the trip to St. Augustine, this place is always a must! We’ve been a few times now and each time they are so friendly and fast with the service. I really appreciate how child-friendly they are, they always treat our toddler with such kindness and patience. One time that we went they even brought him out a dessert of ice cream! They are the best and so is the food. The buffets they have during the week are always hot, fresh and tasty as well.“

“My wife and I went to Michael's for our first wedding anniversary and were blown away by the experience. The atmosphere may seem simple, but understand you're sitting in a restaurant that began as a house in 1764. The floors are older than most of our ancestries in this country. On this hallowed grounds they serve amazing wines, mashed potatoes to write home about, and a filet that is done to such perfection and personal preference, that I know they're cooked sous vide, not held too long at temp, and seared to perfection by a very deft hand. I cannot wait to return to the charm of St Augustine and, when I do, it will be this very same experience that I rush to first.“

“Leaving Anastasia Park and we see a Food truck that has a bunch of folks at it at 2:30. Must be a good spot. A quick U-turn and we are looking at the menu. Several protein options for each of the tacos. We went with the Catch option (Unicorn fish/Trigger fish) we chose the Baha & a tropical Taco. While standing in line waiting for our order, we struck a conversation up with a guy who was wearin Minorcan's Mike's sauces merch. Low and behold Nalu's has his product. We had to try some on out tacos. The combination was perfect. so perfect we left with a jar of that as well. GREAT find. Owner was super nice and friendly. This is the kind of place the locals come because it is fantastic.“
