“What a gem St Augustine has in its’ midst! We recently visited the fine establishment after reading previous reviews and was overwhelmed by the kindness and expertise of the owner! We were novices and had never prepared blue crab before. Instead of being annoyed at our lack of knowledge, he explained at great length and in easy to understand detail, how to prepare his delicious crab in several different ways. We served up a delightful, delicious meal that evening! The seafood was exceptional! He and his small business is a real asset to the community! You won’t be disappointed!!!!“

“So. Freaking. Good. We drove from NC today and had the absolute worst time dealing with traffic and torrential rain all day. Once we finally arrived to St. Augustine, we stumbled upon Catch 27. We were seated promptly by the sweet hostess. Greeted promptly by our server. The drinks were spectacular. Perfectly mixed with balanced flavors. We got the appetizer of the day, which was a crab rangoon dip with wonton crackers. Are you kidding me? So good. I got the blackened flounder beurre blanc. Seriously the best flounder I've ever had. The lemon caper sauce was the perfect compliment to the sweet potato mash. My boyfriend got the coconut crab cake with jasmine rice and Thai curry sauce. Such an authentic Thai flavor. No complaints whatsoever. This experience really saved our day. We've added Catch27 to our list of best restaurants!“

“We went to the Black Molly Grill to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had wonderful meals, ribeye and a shrimp special. Both were excellent. “We visited Grouper Shack a couple of weeks ago. It was our first visit and we definitely have added it to our restaurants to have dinner. Know that you order first then find a seat. Food was served on paper baskets, but it did take away from the delicious food!“

“This is one of the very best Sushi restaurants that i have ever eaten at. The service was spectacular and the selection of sushi and sashimi was stupendous. I have eaten in many Sushi restaurants and I have to say this is by far my favorite . Whenever we are in St. Augustine I know we will eat there again. My husband, who does not like sushi, also loved the food he was able to get.“

“We were so worried about them relocating off St. George street. This is amazing and spot on!! We love the open space and organized staff. The food...OMG it was so good!! The lobster sandwich and fish bites...the sauce...wow!!! The drinks are very good obviously! The girls are spot on with service and do not keep you waiting!!! One of them recommended the Coconut spicy Margarita...OmG it was so good!! Glad we are locals, because this will become a regular spot!!“

“We had no prior knowledge of Blackfly. We chose it because it was close to our rental.  We smiled as soon as we walked in the side door leading to the bar area and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. The further we entered the very well decorated restaurant the more we knew we had made a good choice.  To us, the best reason to visit St. Augustine is dining at the Blackfly!  We went all out and had drinks,  appetizers, their version of Coquille St. Jacques and their Chilli lime shrimp. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection with exceptional sauces. Main course was a Chef's Special which was baked shrimps, scallops over a bed of thai noodles and a sauce to die for.  I had the bone in Pork chop cooked medium rare and it was delicious.  Blackfly has a vast selection of wines in their wine cellar and we enjoyed a nice Honig sauvignon blanc.   Kudos to Matt, our server, who throughout the evening gave us the right amount of attention and space to relax for our entire dining experience.  The food was so good and well prepared that I was compelled to go to the kitchen to thank the staff and gave a large tip for the kitchen staff . Our evening at Blackfly was the highlight of our trip.  Thank you Vaughn and staff, you have an outstanding establishment.“

“I said yes that I would recommend, however if you have young children I want you to make an informed decision. They used to be kid friendly, but I was told my children could not be “running” around. I have a 2 yr old who I stayed right next to the entire time. I apologized to people if she got in their way. Many people smiled and enjoyed the smiles of a child. She was not running around with my 6 year old like a wild child. This has been a great place to sit with our family for years. We have even met friends with young kids who all played together. The staff would engage with the kids and make it such a great experience. We may have to choose a different place for the next few years 😞“

The restaurant is beautiful, the food is so delicious, and the service was excellent. Our server Jennifer was on point. Our water glasses were never empty, she gave us great tips about the menu, and struck the perfect balance between being responsive and giving us space. I had the macadamia crusted salmon, and I cannot honestly say it was the best salmon I’ve ever had. The flavor was delicious and it was cooked perfectly!“

“I’m only giving atmosphere one star because of the FLIES inside the restaurant. The food and drinks are great. The scenery is gorgeous… but this the second time that our table was swarmed by flies. We had to constantly swat at them and couldn’t wait to finish our food and leave. Something needs to be done, it’s disgusting having flies land on everyone’s food as they’re eating.“

I was pretty fooled when I stepped in to a totally different atmosphere, a place where all the locals come, and it was packed, sat at the bar Andrew the bartender took care of us. He was amazing. He was on top of his game. Nothing unusual for him whatever he suggested was excellent service excellent food excellent wine excellent I drank sangria from Spain so did everybody else in the place? It’s my new go to it’s a hidden gem and I really thought this was just a joint and didn’t know if I was actually gonna eat here but was T fooled thank you so much guys for your food and service will bring all my friends and family to you.“

“My wife and I came here for our 31st anniversary. A highly rated restaurant. My meal, steak bowl, was very tasty. The steak was tuff. Over cooked I think. My wife had a fish meal. I forget which. She was very disappointed in the taste and quality of her meal. I have NEVER see my wife complain about a meal before. When our waitress (she was great!) Asked how the meal was my wife told her. Later a woman, not a lady, came to our table concerning our dissatisfaction. She seemed to be insulted and left in a huff. Normally a dissatisfied customer is given a discount or a free dessert. Something. Nothing was offered. What should have been an enjoyable dining experience for Saint Augustine residents celebrating their anniversary was left lacking. 🤢“

They have plenty of options for people that actually like fish or people who just like deep fried mayonnaise, (gotta give Americans what they want. 🤷). Also noticed a sign on the sushi bar, real crab available on request so that's nice as well. I would ask though, if anybody is listening, please fix your website. The ads are infuriating. “This place was great !! The vibes on the back patio were great. Had some delicious fries with the best ranch as an appetizer. The Miller lite on tap was great and the pink lemonade with vodka was a hit.
Our waitress with dark brown hair and a flower tattoos on her arm was amazing. She was very attentive when we sat at our table, and she was great at coming back to check if we needed anything else after our food came to the table without being overbearing.
