“Def a go-to spot. First time back in 2 years. Came with husband and children, and it was a great late dinner. My kids can't wait to come back. Every dish was yummy and cooked fresh and served hot ?. Love when my food is hot ?. All drinks were yummy. Our waiter was awesome. Forgot her name. Their food always hit the spot.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu“
“The yuca fried was plentiful and delicious. I am not a big fan of the ketchup-mayo dipping sauce it comes with, but another person at the table liked it. The empanadas were tasty and high quality shredded beef inside. The Don Julio margarita I had was strong but not my favorite tbh.The prices here are generally more expensive than going to Papi's Cuban, but Armandos is the only place like this around for a 20 minute drive.“
“Ate here yesterday for the first time and truly enjoyed the food!Oxtails were very good and the cabbage and rice was a winner too!I've also been searching for some desert that reminds me of when my grandmother was around andTHE POUND CAKE WAS AMAZING!!!“
“I've grabbed takeout from the Duluth location twice during lunch and once during dinner on a Saturday. The good has been solid and tasty each time, including the dessert (Cake slices). The prices are fair, staff is decent. I will be back.“
“I stopped by for lunch and ordered the jerk chicken combo. It was utterly delicious. Their jerk sauce is truly special. On top of everything, Lorna came out to chat and when I mentioned she should offer coffee she proceeded to make me the most delicious mocha coffee ever! Such a gem! If you love Jamaican food stop here and eat!“
“Three of us went for lunch. We were accommodated an hour earlier than they were scheduled to open. The decor and ambiance was spot on. Andre the waiter was extremely attentive and his suggested appetizer was nothing short of delicious. It included jerked hot wings, Lilly’s little flowers - well seasoned cauliflowers, beef and chicken pates with coco bread. To drink we thoroughly enjoyed the ocean blue lemonade, homemade sorrel and dark and stormy - rum n ginger beer drinks. The side shots of coconut rum were exquisite. Because we were early we were not able to order the curried goat entree which would take longer to prepare, and will have to try that on another visit. My wife had the oxtail and said it was falling off the bone delicious but would have liked a little more fire in the seasoning. Two of us had fish escoviche, but also felt the fish could have had some added fire in the seasoning too. Rum raisin ice cream and bread pudding were our delicious desserts. I would definitely recommend this eatery for fine dining.“
“Such a cute vibe here and absolutely love the servers. They remember my children with each visit. Nice to enjoy a good meal that even my kids can enjoy. Small inside but never too crowded and gives a nice island vibe. Food is always fresh and never seems like it just sits under a hot lamp.“
“I am so glad I found this gem!! I just moved to Atlanta from Boston (where there’s Haitian food everywhere) so I was little bummed out that there aren’t really Haitian spots out here. But my girlfriend found this place on IG and sent it my way. I ordered online and got the griot plate which comes with the diri kole (rice and beans) and the banan peze (fried plantains) with a side of salad and pikliz. Also ordered a side of the j*** chicken pasta which came with some delicious bread, my order also came with a lemonade and it was one of the best lemonade I ever had. EVERYTHING was delicious the griot was cooked very well still nice and tender people tend to overcook griot but this here was perfect! Portion is great! It’s a 10/10 for me and will not mind making that 30+ minute drive in Atlanta traffic to get it.My only suggestion would be to give the sauce on the side as opposed to putting it on the rice and having Dressing for the salad.Thank you Ted for a great meal, you definitely have a frequent customer now.“
“Came from Fort Lauderdale, trying to get to know the area. So glad to have come. Across this place, steam fish and ackee rolls were amazing! Drinks were strong! Most important the DJ was such a vibe, I danced all night! Nice clean, fun music. Im glad to know this Gem is in the area when I return. Nice to have upscale Jamaican restaurants.“
“Tasty food, good prices, and friendly service. The lechon asado was like pernil in Puerto Rico. Very delicious. I love getting the fried yucca as well. They do it right. The congris rice was okay, but next time I think I'll stick with yellow rice because the extra calories weren't worth it to me flavorwise. The thin palomilla steak was also tasty, but lacked a bit of salt. Hurricane drink was strong and well prepared. Love it here!“
“People! This place is just so good!Chill music to enjoy a perfect brunch!Food… OMG… let me tell you… you have to try the sweet potatoes with fried chicken ??And the drinks?! Just asked! They have the perfect one for you!100% recommended.“
“Today was my first time visiting this restaurant. I heard about from a gentleman I know the food was amazing. The best tasting authentic Jamaican food in Lawrenceville. Definitely give it a try I had the jerk pork and jerk chicken mac and cheese everything was delicious.“
“I recommended this place 100%I came in with family always eat there and spend over $200 I’d say because I eat there a lot. It’s just the best everything about this place is amazing it feels at home. Come on up and enjoy this amazing cultural cuisine.“
“I was super impressed with the atmosphere, we were consistently checked on, we went for drinks and to listen to the live band! Overall.. so beautiful to see everyone vibing! Great drinks, incredible music..! Staff was very sweet and professional! I'm going back next weekend!“
“Food is really good. Not over spiced or oily. Perfect cross between salt and spices. Establishment was very clean, I didn’t see a spec of anything on the floor. It also SMELLED clean, you can tell they must clean daily. The young man that served me was very kind and generous. I got there an hour before closing so no rice and beans or plantains, but oh my the white rice was SO GOOD. I didn’t know white rice could taste so yummy haha. I got the curry goat and cabbage. Great prices, great portions, and great food. 5/5 for sure. Thank you guys!!!“
“?️ Every item on the menu is so Tasty; you will not be disappointed. I’ve been coming here to buy spapper, shrimp, and conch fritters for 7 years now and the food has been consistently superb. Great food and friendly service => Chefs Kiss“
“I had the Caribbean cheese burger with fries and a salad. I love salad. The salad came with a white vinegar with onions and cucumber chunks in the dressing. Amazing meal. I was not expecting that kind of meal here. Fantastic. My server at the bar was never let my drink run low, offered dressing and drink all the time she was overly nice. Great environment. I will be back thank you.“
“My daughter kept going on and on about this Jamaican spot that was sooo good. When I decided to throw her a birthday party and asked what kind of food she wanted, of course she said Dat Fire Jerk Chicken! The food was everything she said it was...it was ready when I arrived to pick it up, everyone was super nice and that jerk salmon...OMG!! I would most definitely recommend them and will be coming back myself!!“
“Our family has been coming here for years and the food & service has been consistently amazing! I always see the same ladies and they’ve always been so friendly & kind. Their black bean noodles and spicy seafood noodle soup is hard to beat. This is our go to spot everytime!“
“Oxtails were amazing!!! Thank you for the great customer service and being greeted upon entry. Will definitely be returning and as I stated we would love to invite y’all to our Juneteenth food truck event. (Food truck not needed) again thank y’all for having amazing food.“
“I have "tried" the Jerk Chicken plate at LJC at least 15 times and am never disappointed. The portions are large, the flavor is authentic, and all at a very affordable price. Family owned and operated. Wear your pants with a flexible waist because you won't leave anything on your plate. Expect to be full and smiling when you leave.“
“This place is the real deal! The owner makes you feel like you are in Jamaica — from the music, the market that is set up inside the restaurant and of course the authentic and incredible food. The jerk chicken is bursting with so many flavors, including just the right amount of heat. If you haven’t been, you HAVE to give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!“
“I never actually been to this restaurant in person, but whenever I don’t feel like cooking, but want something that taste like home I order from these guys! If you are from Latin America, the Caribbean, New York, or Miami, you’re gonna love this place! Such a blessing because their prices are so reasonable and their food is QUALITY! Having their food makes me believe that a lot of the other restaurants are Price gouging, because these guys are so reasonably priced for delicious fresh quality food!“
“This place exceeded my expectations. I heard about this place from a friend influencer and he reviewed the Mango Habanero Chicken. He did a great job reviewing because it piqued my interest next time I was in that area and I'm so glad I stopped by to experience first hand the delight this place gave me.First of all their prices are insane! With everything from air to water being inflated it was an awesome change to find somewhere affordable. All their prices are clearly listed on their menu and they have such an array of proteins and sides. The pans just kept going. I was shocked honestly by their extensive options. They do allow 2 sample per person if you're stuck between choosing a protein.I went with the rice and beans, habanero chicken, collard greens, and plantain. The portions were out of this world. She just kept piling on the food and I was so pleased with the absence of stinginess that most restaurants impose on their patrons.I also added a beef patty and Kola Champagne. Everything came out to $21. The rice was pretty good, chicken was so tender and delicious, the greens were good but could use more seasoning or salt. The plantains were perfect. They don't make their patties in house like most Caribbean restaurants but it was fine nonetheless. The restaurant was clean although they could use a little bit of updating or artwork to give it more of an island feel outside of the choice of paint they chose. Will definitely be back.“
“My family and I have been coming here since it first opened and we have absolutely loved eating their chicken! It is currently our favorite and #1 place for pollo a la brasa (peruvian rotisserie chicken) in GA. Although not the best peruvian restaurant overall, it surely beats all others only with their really outstanding chicken. If you want to find even better chicken, you'd have to go many hours away to other states. It's great priced, good quality (mainly the chicken), and well portioned.Pollo a la brasa 9/10- It's really juicy and flavorful! It outranks other peruvian restaurants that offer pollo a la brasa in Georgia through its portion size and notable quality of authentic spices of the marinade flavor. The strong and greatly seasoned flavors from the spices is embedded deep into the chicken meat and is not just skin deep like other peruvian restaurants. It was bursting with all the right flavors but was missing the most authentic one, and that is the wood-fired smoky flavor that comes from using a wood fired oven instead of a regular oven. One thing I enjoyed a lot was that the fries were actually crunchy and not soggy like most other restaurants have them. They are not homemade and seem to be frozen fries but it's better than soggy fries. Like in any other restaurant, it can vary depending on their product inventory and who is cooking the fries. Despite that, the fries were not seasoned and rely on the sauces to make up for it.Sauces 8/10- flavorful but not my favorite. The sauces have good herbal taste but lack other flavors and salt. It's the right flavor but just lacks a special touch. I recommend adding salt and a touch of zest from vinegar or a few drops of lemon. Regardless, it pairs well with the chicken and fries. The salad vinaigrette is delicious and well made.Arroz chaufa side 2/10 - the thing I least recommend here. Although it looks delicious on picture, the flavor is bland. It's lacking everything that authentic peruvian fried rice would offer. They definitely focused on the quality of the chicken more than this side.Kid-friendliness: Which kid doesn't love chicken? If not, there is salchipapas that kids often enjoy.Wheelchair accessibility: No dislevels to reach the restaurant and both the ordering counter and tables would pose no issues for those in a wheelchair.“
