“I ate here 2 nights in a row and got the same sandwich it was great both nights busy tasted better the second night! Thank you to Lisa and I forgot the cooks name but I know Lisa was the server! She did great! Will definitely be back and highly recommend the big house BLT!!!”

“Ordered the arepa de pollo and the vegetarian burrito, 10/10! The arepa was a huge pile of delicious chicken with avocado and cheese, the burrito fills the entire tray. The staff is very nice!”

“Overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant had a cool look. The potato pancakes were good- crispy on the outside. They had a hint of flavor, but needed more. It was great with the apple sauce. The pretzel was fluffy and soft with very delicious cheese! It was so cheesy and had a distinct taste. I think in general our problem was the good was bland. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it was good- the flavor coming from the burnt parts. I got the beef roast- it was good, but it was slathered in gravy. The carrots and potatoes needed seasoning. My son got the chicken schnitzel. It was soggy. The mashy potatoes had a good texture, but needed seasoning. The spaetzle was also soggy- maybe that's how they are supposed to be? I don't know much about German food, but maybe this is how it's supposed to taste?? We went back a second time and sat in a different room- there were no TVs and the lights were super bright so we got out food to go. The pretzel was just as good. The french onion soup was okay- probably better there. The mozzarella was not was stretchy/stringy as I remember. It also might not have been mozzarella- not sure. We also had a piece of German chocolate cake. It was good. The cake was moist and the cream was thick with coconut and nuts!”

“My daughter and I were in Helen for Thanksgiving. We sat and enjoyed a wonderful crêpe on Thanksgiving morning with Ashlee and Tori. Honestly it was my favorite meal our whole entire stay. I am a chef, and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. This place is a wonderful gem with fresh food and a great staff.”

“We had such a wonderful weekend , and the staff was so very nice. We loved our room, it blocked almost all of the sound from Oktoberfest going on. We loved it so much that we booked it again for Christkindlmarkt in December.”

“Stopped in today to try a flight of ice DREAM! Four flavors, all spectacular, presentation on point, and Vegas (didn’t catch her name, you’ll know her though) was as spicy as the Hot Lava ice cream—my fav. What a delightful place, even had an SRV pic on the shelf! Best ice cream we’ve had in … ever! We even got a malted milkshake and coffee float to go. 😋 #livingitupinhelenga.”

“I wish all the other places we visited were as nice and welcoming as Christoffs! We walked in because we thought it was a,bar but low and behold it was an amazing popcorn store that sold beer and wine! We ended up trying one and couldn't stop sampling it was so good! We bought multiple bags! My husband just tried the bag I brought home and couldn't stop eating it!”

“My wife and I just returned from celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, at the Valhalla Resort Hotel. We absolutely LOVED it! The minute we drove up to the hotel’s front door, we were greeted by Steve, a tremendous valet! He genuinely treated us like we were the most important people in the hotel, right from the get go! Then, as we walked into the hotel, Judy welcomed us in with a smile, and explained to us what Valhalla had to offer. I felt like we were visiting with friends! Our room was beautiful, and quite festive, as our youngest daughter purchased the “Celebrate You” package for us! Later that evening, we went to have a drink at the Sky Bar, which has beautiful Mountain Views! Matt was the bartender, who fixed us an Old Fashioned, a Jalapeño Margarita. DELICIOUS! Matt is full of personality, and was right on point both days we spent time with him! Lastly, we met Jerry Murdock, the owner. Jerry was as kind as can be, and is an absolute riot! Thank you Valhalla, for helping to make our 30th wedding anniversary a most special one! We will be back!”

“Amazing matcha and a cool store. Couple of good spots for pics if you’re into that. Owners could take down most of the very negative and weird signage like to not move tables and that you’re on camera, etc”

“A great place to unwind listen to music and catch up with Friends. GREAT parking for motorcycles and close to everything in Helen. I definitely recommend this bar. The one issue is their restrooms. Some improvement needed there”

“My friend and I stopped here after playing mini golf next door. My friend lives in Clarksville and I was visiting her for a few days. There were plenty of options and the ice cream was very good! My friend said this is her new favorite local place now for the best ice cream.”

“We went there for breakfast. It wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately. We had our two dachshunds and were able to sit on the back patio that was heated. We liked the vibe and our server was good. The food was a mixed bag. My son got the Alpine french toast. It looked like regular bread and about three pieces were burnt, but it was good. He got a bratwurst on the side. I had got one too. How can I describe it? It was vinegary. It had a weird aftertaste. I've had bratwurst before and I don't remember it tasting like that. I got a fried cheese plate which was good. I got mozzarella. It was great, but I ate it with other food because it was a little intense on its own. Eggs and potatoes were good and perfectly seasoned! My husband had the egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit. It was good, but was falling apart. Overall, it was good and we would try it again.”

“My wife and I eat here for our anniversary and I can’t put the experience into words! The food was absolutely amazing and 100% the best German restaurant in town(I’ve been coming to Helen since 2004). Super authentic as the chef Aurel came out to ask how our meal was and spoke to us for around 20-30 minutes. Makes my wife and I who also cook very happy to see someone take such pride in their preparation. If you don’t try this place when in Helen you are missing out for sure! “Best French Dip sandwich I've ever had!!! Potato skins were delicious. Everything was fresh and hot. Seems like a locals spot, TV's everywhere. Smoking is allowed but wasn't terribly strong smelling. Highly recommend and we will definitely come back every time we visit Helen.”

“I walked passed during my stay after arriving at my hotel, I was looking for a specific dish which they did not serve. The staff immediately saw me and greeted me, which was very welcoming. I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and to my surprise he said they would make it for me! They were extremely accommodating to my dietary needs.
Now the pictures I took was after the walk back to my hotel, so they do not look the best. But let me tell you, tasted PHENOMENAL! Every bite shocked my taste buds! It was hands down, the best Mexican I have tasted. It's 9am as I write this and I am craving more! I will definitely be stopping back one more before my trip ends.”

“Very authentic type of Bavarian in. You must be able to do a few steps as there’s only a few table tables on the first level then you have to take five steps up to the main level and then go upstairs to the top. We ate at the top and it was very nice but cold as it was 35° outside when we ate lunch. We had the Wurst sausage plate and it was enough for two people. It was $25.95. Our waitress was Brittany and she was fabulous. A great place to see heading back in the back of a little section of stores in a small nice alley.”

“Delicious✨. My family went there specifically because of the good reviews one of us was reading. I don’t know what site he was using but they were all outstanding, nothing less than a four star. I thought the place was amazing! We were served pretty quickly and the appetizers greatly appeased the wait. The loaded fries and chicken I got was DELICIOUS! I have never eaten anything better ? (I’m not a bot, I swear?). The servers were really nice, especially the guy on the phone when we called to ask about the wait (there was none!) They even pushed enough tables together to have our 19 people sitting at the same table (usually they say 15 people a table, max at other restaurants). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it??‍♀️. Highly recommend!”
