“Our second trip to GSG was not as pleasant as the first. Our table was plagued with several flies that harassed us our entire meal, I actually dispatched an ant crawling on the table too. Our smoked fish dip appetizer was extremely “fishy” like it was made with mullet or something. It was not good. We each tried one taste and left it alone. The crab stew was great. My triple tail special was great. My daughter’s bacon poached salmon was supposed to be prepared medium, but it was rare…very. So, I wound up trading her a portion of my dinner so she would not have to eat almost raw fish. Overall, I expected much more consistent greatness given the difficulty we have had obtaining a reservation. Disappointed“

“Back in July, I had one of the kindest and most heartwarming experiences at this Iguanas . While I was waiting for my food, I suddenly had a low blood sugar episode. As someone with type 1 diabetes, those moments can be really scary because they can sneak up on you out of nowhere. Without hesitation, the waitress noticed what was happening and went completely out of her way to bring me something right away before my meal was ready. She didn’t just stop there she continued to check in on me the entire time I was there, making sure I felt okay and had what I needed. That small act of kindness may not seem like much to some, but to me, it meant absolutely everything. In that moment, she turned what could have been a stressful experience into one filled with comfort and genuine care. It reminded me how much of an impact simple compassion can have on someone’s day. And beyond the incredible service, the food was absolutely delicious! The combination of amazing food and people who truly care makes this place stand out. My family and I had breakfast reservations for four at 8:30am on a weekday. The dining room was set to perfection as we were greeted with a welcoming smile and offered to pick any table we preferred. We selected a table by the window. It was wonderful to see a dining room set with fine China again. It seems rare nowadays.

Once settled, we were promptly offered tea, coffee, or a collection of juices before embarking on the breakfast buffet and omelet station. There were no lines yet being so early on a weekday, but my oh my, what a beautiful feast! I was apprehensive that the food would be generic given the continental selection, but I was pleasantly impressed by the tastes, presentations, and twists to the menu. The French toast and overnight oats were my favorite, with a close third place by the bacon.

In addition to the delicious food, the wait staff was attentive and happy. The tables were nicely spaced to keep the dining room at a quiet noise level. And the coffee and pots of tea kept flowing. A big plus!

The only negative I can find with my dining experience is that I was mistaken that the extra fruit juices I ordered a la carte were part of the breakfast buffet. I wish I had known that only the juices on the buffet tables were included. However, when you are dining at such a fine dining establishment, you do not mind the extra price.

Service was average, I had called days in advance to reserve indoor window seating to celebrate our Anniversary. I had planned a whole “thing” I was going to do near the stunning view of the window for the wife. When we arrived they pulled our information and one lady asked us “indoor or outdoor?” The other hostess told her the system said “indoor with window seating” and gave her a look of disappointment. As they walked me to my sitting area it was not window seating and table was wobbly. I was unable to do my whole “thing” I had planned and just started off the evening not on a good start, but drinks made up for it 🤷‍♂️😒“

“i don’t know why there is bad reviews. I honestly loved this place. the server was so sweet and kind, my favorite waitress i’ve ever had i loved hers . The food was really really good, everyone at my table didn’t have one complaint about the food. it was so nice and clean and it wasn’t busy at all it was super quiet and relaxed, only one other table in the room that had people. I did not regret and would 100% go again, i know i’ll be craving this in the future.“
