“I hardly write reviews, but had to give a huge shoutout to our favorite sushi spot in Atlanta for their incredible service last night. I’m gluten free and 4 months pregnant so with those two things combined most sushi places would be off limits but not Eight! Our server took the time to walk me through everything on the menu I could still order and even things off menu they could make for me. We landed on the king crab nigiri and off menu avocado shrimp roll with gluten free soy sauce. Both items were fantastic. Our sweet server even brought out this adorable congratulatory dessert at the end! Thanks for another great meal Eight!“

“O-Ku never misses, and this restaurant is literally my favorite place in Atlanta. My fiance and I were celebrating our Birthdays and Joe and Jazmine really made this birthday special for us. We were greeted by Joe, who is always super friendly and inviting. He also added beautiful flowers to the table due to the occasion. Our waitress, Jazmine, was also super friendly and knowledgeable and added the final touches to a perfect date night/celebration. As always, thanks for the great time =D“

“Food was amazing and service was impeccable. The 8 course tasting menu and Sake pairing was worth every penny. Went for my birthday and they did not disappoint. Angela was the best. Very personable and knowledgeable in regards to menu options, Sakes and history. Compliments to the chef!!!“

“The food was great and the service was exceptional. Compared to Hayakawa, Mujo seems to have a bit more of a modern take. The ambience was moody and the restaurant was constantly buzzing with conversation and laughs. I loved the presentation, the staff, and the quality.“

“This is the first Japanese restaurant in America that we can recommend to Americans. Is this Japanese food in most restaurants? There are many traditional Japanese flavors and dishes, but this one is just Japanese food, and when I miss Japanese food, that normality permeates my stomach. I recommend it.“

“Really special experience, unmatched in Atlanta. Pricey, obviously, but it almost transcends dining. The food quality can't be overstated. Sake recs were top notch. The kind of "above and beyond" service you only get at a place like this. The chef is so personable and engaging.“

“Ate here tonight! Such a cute & decently priced place. The appetizer (spicy cheese karaage) I got was absolutely delicious and the matcha cheesecake was perfect. I can’t wait to come back again! Our server wasn’t the most present but it was quite busy (even on a Wednesday night).Parking: You can pay to park in a nearby lot but can get it validated!“

“Have been getting COVID-19 omakase with Yasu! And I cannot recommended it enough! Every single little detail is not missed even though it is take out. By far one of the best Omakase take in Atlanta currently for it’s price. The amount of food is easily 2-3 times the other omakase and yet the same quality. ❤️“

“I'm not sure how this does not have a higher rating - we landed here on a time crunch, after trying to visit another establishment that was not moving fast. We are so glad we tried Salaryman! Great, welcoming staff, chill atmosphere, and delicious food. The rock shrimp app was perfect, my guava cocktail amazing, and our main meal absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend.“

“I loved the food, the service was excellent, but I have to note something that I had to bring up with the manager, who by the way was our waitress as well. When I arrived with my husband the restaurant was at about half capacity. We were promptly seated at a small table near the rear. As the capacity grew, I noticed that 2 additional couples had been seated in the same section at the same type of smaller table. I mention this because, the only 3 African American couples in the restaurant were seated near the rear, at these smaller tables, while other couples were seated at larger tables near the rear or at tables closer to the front of the restaurant. Maybe this was a huge coincidence, but none the less I brought this to the attention of the manager, who immediately stated that the restaurant was not racist. I informed her that I was not stating that. The service and food were great, but the optics of the situation did not look good and that they should acknowledge that behavior and correct it in the future.“

“This was my first time eating Japanese food that did not come on my plate after a show. So I’m a little uncultured. ??♀️However, I will say that I really enjoyed this food. I don’t know if it’s authentic or not so don’t look for my review to symbolize that. But I felt like everything was very flavorful. I would return. I got the gingeryaki bowl. I also tried the Yuzu drink. Not sweet enough for me but I would try another drink for sure. Jenny was helpful.“

“I've been in here a few times for late night cocktails and small bites. I haven't had a bad thing yet. The cocktail menu is lovingly crafted by the in-house bartenders. They're more than happy to explain their methodology and engage you in conversation. It's a fairly small location and the skewers are grilled right in front of you. A very neat spot in the Virginia Highlands were stopping in“

“Had last minute dinner here while passing by and it was a great choice! The combo dinners are a great deal and you get a decent amount of food for the price, especially for Japanese cuisine. The only hiccup was they got our order wrong but was quickly fixed, but we had also seen a table next to us get the wrong order. Very small space but we were seated quickly on a Sunday night. Space is tight so it was awkward to balance a purse in the seat and also make sure it won’t get knocked over. There’s a designated parking lot in the back and other parking options nearby.Parking: Tight lot in the back. Host can tell you more options at a nearby restaurant/street.“

“Great place for Thai. Restaurant is close to my office, so I have had lunch there quite a few times. Lunch service is fast and never overcrowded for lunch. Prices are in line for the area and may seem a little high but not for the Emory location.“

“Amazing food and lots of options to choose from! I greatly enjoyed the hamachi kama and onigiri. Hopefully next time I'll be able to try their sushi!Great portions and everything came out quickly, the price is definitely worth it; we had ordered a lot of different things for a total of $112 which i feel is worth it due to the portions of each order and the fact we were able to order so many dishes.“

“I have been living in Atlanta for 7 months and I have been getting circle poke every week without missing it. Everything about that place is amazing. They also have the best kimchi I’ve ever had. The only thing that I would like them to add would be cream cheese to their menu.“

“We ate here after seeing Cirque du Soleil nearby with our two kids, 10 & 11. The restaurant was clean, and comfortably decorated. I wasn't worried too much about having what amounts to a grill in the middle of our table with the kids. It's obviously hot, but it's not like you'll lose a hand if you get too close here and there. Service was great. Our server was Yuki. He was very attentive, and explained how it worked, and answered any questions. When our food arrived, Yuki told us exactly what each item was, and exactly how long to cook it per side. Not a cheap place to go, especially with kids, but a nice treat after an otherwise fun-filled day with other new first experiences.“

“Stopped in for dinner on vacation with my wife and two children. We were all incredibly impressed. We had the calamari, fried rice, and a few rolls; all of them were excellent. Teddy was fantastic at making suggestions and made the experience even more enjoyable.“

“One of the best sushi spots in Atlanta. Quality fish and rolls, great friendly service with a smile. Quick service since it’s such a small spot. And they have gluten free options! Yay!Kid-friendliness: They were also accommodating for our child’s birthday party even arriving an hour prior to their lunch break“

“Value, value, value. There's nothing that gets this foodie's heart ticking like tasty food at a great price point. Yes, this is fast casual dining, but it's done well with a healthy serving size that won't leave you hungry at the end. My husband and I each ordered our own teriyaki bento boxes, which come with a few pieces of California roll, rice, and a choice of two sides. I was surprised at how well my salmon teriyaki turned out. It was quite tender (save a few thinner parts long the sides, which were expectedly drier) and I was most surprised by the fact that there were two small fillets atop my rice. Talk about value! I wish I could tell you about my husband's chicken teriyaki but after his first bites, he quietly angled his plate away from me and shoveled it into his mouth until there was nothing left.I suppose that's saying something. There were a few minor dings here and there. The rolls, for instance, aren't true California rolls since there's nothing inside except imitation crab meat. My husband deigned to order a side salad, which turned out to be a clamshell Styrofoam container filled with chopped iceberg lettuce and a few julienned carrots throughout. No other veggies, no dressing, just lettuce. But now that we've learned our lesson, I hope that keeps you from making the same mistake and ordering from the more exciting parts of their menu. Anything with the teriyaki sauce would probably be a good bet. It's isn't too sweet and has a fair resemblance to the Sarku teriyaki one might find at a mall food court (the pinnacle of teriyaki in my book).Service is brisk at the counter, and the food was ready mere minutes after we'd chosen our table and visited the (clean) restroom. There's no street parking available, but there's a decently sized garage/lot a few doors down.“

“The chicken plate and the green beans were incredible! The Ponko Palmer was also very good if you like sweet drinks. I also appreciated the customer service. They forgot part of my order, but made it right when I came back and inquired. So glad I stopped here on my trip to Atlanta.“

“I never got any food poisoning and I tried 3 different items. I loved the creativity with the sushi. I got the sushi donut (salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, crab salad), sushi corndog, and sushi pizza (salmon). Service was good. Staff was nice. There are benches to sit at if you don’t come at a busy time. Prices are fair.“

“Very good. I have always eaten at Teriyaki Madness at least once when I’ve visited Vegas. Thrilled to see one open in Atlanta. So glad it wasn’t a let down. Spicy chicken was tender, flavorful, and had the right amount of heat. A good and much healthier alternative to burgers and fried food.“

“Stopped in just before a Shen Yuen performance...decided 5o stop in because it looked so inviting, vivacious colorw that pop and a cleanliness you can see and feel from outside the eatery. As we ordered, the cashier was suoer helpful with menu options and offered us ice cream samples which were to die for[a purple, caramel tasting icecream] then in no time at all we were being served our meals at our tables and it was exhibit worthy.... live the staff's friendliness, the taste of authentic raw sushi ? ? and the vibe that you feel within the Sukoshi house.“

“Update 2024: Original review still mostly holds up. This is probably my family's favorite place to go regularly for casual sushi, though I do find the original midtown location superior to this one when I am able to get there. My main issue with this now is that it is small and with a very limited number of 4+ seat tables. It seems like it has gotten more popular, which is great, but when the outdoor seating isn't in play, be prepared to wait for a table especially if your party is larger than 2.Original Review: Really good Japanese food. They have good sushi and sashimi but what really sets them apart is their deeper Japanese fare. They have Ramen, but also Soba, Katsu, and Okonomyaki (and a good Takoyaki app). Back to the Sushi, it's always good to check their specials board (unfortunately located past most of the tables next to the Sushi bar) as they regularly have things like Toro/Otoro, Uni, and fresh Wasabi. It will cost you but is worth it if you are an aficianado.“

“I've always enjoyed the sushi from here. They are relatively fast with orders, I've only ever seen two people working, I assume it's the owners. Well, those two people are the reason I had to write a review. My boyfriend and I decided while shopping we wanted sushi so we decided to pop in and place a to-go order. While we were waiting, the woman came up to us with the warmest smile on her face asking if she could get us a drink or some miso soup. We said that we were ok, and she said something along the lines of ok sorry for the wait! Even though it had only been like three min since placing the order. You could just tell they were putting their all into the service and food. We got our food back very quickly (very quick since we saw the same man make both of our roles- both came out beautifully) and it was amazing.... I've eaten here many times so I knew what I was getting. The cherry on top was when the woman came behind with to go soup and said I just wanted to send you both home with some soup I wish I had enough money to buy sushi from them every night. Pls pls pls consider sushi matsuya for a nice good meal“

Also had Wonton soup and split the Hawaiian sushi roll ( after the waitress recommended. She was Great btw!). Will be going back! We've found a jewel!“

“Came in for a quick bite - we had already eaten dinner elsewhere. The reason we came was for dessert - I really like mango sticky rice and wanted to try theirs! I did like it, it had nice balance of flavors. I’m still most partial to Ruby Chows mango sticky rice, but this was a good runner up.My husband got the spring rolls for a snack and didn’t care for it.he was disappointed they didn’t have spicy mustard. He said he wouldn’t come back.Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options, but many meat entrees. The mango sticky rice is vegetarian! :)Parking: It can be hard to find (free) parking around here - you can if you go into neighborhood and walk. But most of the parking lots around are paid (and hefty prices! On weekends we saw signs of people asking for $20 to park!) luckily we bike many places so we don’t have to worry about car parking.Wheelchair accessibility: You have to climb some stairs to get up to the dining area, so that would make it hard for a wheelchair impaired person. I’m honestly not sure if they have elevator as we didn’t need so I didn’t look for it“

“Really good customer service, and for inexpensive food court food, this is shockingly good. The noodles in particular are unusual but addictive. They have rather good customer service too; you see them really making an effort when the line gets long to make sure everyone's fairly served. The atmosphere is never going to impress - it's in a food court. This is a place where I'll normally eat a few times per visit to the city.Vegetarian options: I don't eat meat, and they usually have several rolls, noodles, and other things I'll like.“

“We went during the day and the lighting was very low. We initially thought the place was closed. They turned up the lighting once we were seated. The sushi was good and pics are provided. The tea wasn't good at all. The tea was like a blend of tea and coffee. The service was OK. I will probably come back and do takeout.“

“My best friend and I make it our business to eat here at least once a year. There has not been another restaurant that could make sushi as well as Sushi Ave does in our area, so the 1.5 hour drive is well worth it! Their takoyaki, udon and unagi don are to DIE for! ♡“

“I came here for lunch, and it was pretty good! They have several options for lunch combos and you save about $3-4 by doing the combo. There’s pretty limited options for the sushi you can get at lunch, so I’d probably go again but get some of the specialty rolls. The inside of the restaurant was really cute and they were very quick to get the food out. Overall a good experience and I would try it again!“
