“So, I am a total townie. To me, going past Chinatown is going to the boonies. Going to Aiea and taking the freeway is like going to another country where you don't know how to drive. Well, I took the adventure and it was totally worth it to check out this place. Had tried before, but unfortunately, they were still closed due to COVID restrictions. After thinking about trying to go again, I found the time and couldn't believe what I was missing out on all this time. The food is just amazing. I've had Taiwanese soups of many kinds over the years, but their Cow Wow beef noodle soup was by far the best I have ever had. Lots of excellent meat, rich broth and spiced perfectly. My partner had the Fooki Belly plate and I was amazing with the pork that was so perfectly cooked and so flavorful with fatty yumminess. We also got the Grandpa Rolling Beef, which was like an Asian crepe burrito. It was fantastic as well, but didn't really need so much plum sauce on it and would ask for it on the side when we go back again. The place has a certain Asian kitschy sheik to it, like something with a Shanghai old movie feel. They are super cautions with COVID safety and maybe can ease up just a bit, but I do appreciate their efforts to keep themselves as well as their dinners safe. If this place were to open up another location in the Honolulu area, I would probably be there way to much. Maybe it is a good thing that they are out of my normal travel comfort limits, so that it makes it extra special when I go back again for their amazing food.”
“First timr trying Catania Ristorante Italiano at Waimalu Shopping Center. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. Parking is also a challenge during the busy times. Chinese owners serving Italian food. The food is good, but not memorable good. Pasta is cooked well and their garlic cheese bread is very good. Spaghetti sauce too runny, but the Seafood Linguine is delicious. Prices are affordable, considering the portion size is generous and they don't skimp on the protein. Another plus, it's BYOB, so you can save some e $$$ on your bill.
Friendly family run business excellent service. Show your support to small businesses.”
“The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the catfish plate with sides (Mac n Cheese & Yams). With the banging apple cobbler! A must try… Please try the bbq sauce….way back sauce from Webb’s from Cleveland, Ohio. Great Unc… would be proud of you for bringing Midwest taste to Hawaii.”
“It was great! Went here after seeing the Pearl Harbor memorial, and was excited to see a variety of intriguing menu options. The service here was amazing - everyone was very respectful and friendly, and nice to interact with. Overall, I would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant. I got the Bruschetta and Caesar salad, you should try them!”

“Beers always great but at special 25% off growlers … priceless!”
“Second time back here with friends for lunch. I got the laksa and it was delicious. Great service. Nice place to have lunch or dinner with friends. The pancake was delicious, not too sweet and very light. I was greedy and order a bowl of pickled cabbage and fish with rice noodle home.”

“Sushi Spot is truly the place to go for fresh, high-quality sushi. Everything we tried was delicious, and the service made the experience even better. The staff was so kind and attentive—always keeping our waters full and our table tidy throughout the meal. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend!”
“I got the pho with rare steak and beef balls and it was amazing. It was just what I was craving and needed. It was light, flavorful and filling. Service was great and quick, and the aunties were attentive. It’s a small restaurant but worth the wait if you come at a busy time.”
“Tucked away on the same level as McDonald’s in Aiea, this sushi spot is a place where locals go. It might be easy to miss, but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. There’s convenient parking, and while there’s no indoor seating, the outdoor tables make for a casual vibe.
Service is impressively quick, and the portion sizes are generous—ordering just one roll can be a lot for one person. If you’re with friends, I highly recommend sharing a few different rolls to get the full experience.
The staff (or possibly the owner) was incredibly kind and helpful. He let me know the fresh ahi was sold out for the day, but offered great suggestions for other rolls to try. Prices are fair, especially considering the portion sizes and Hawaii’s cost of living.
If you’re in the area, this spot is a must-try. Delicious sushi, great service, and a chance to support a small business :)”

“Husband & I was very pleased with our waitress. Wished I knew her name. It’s our 1st time eating here & she recommended some plates. I had left overs so I signaled her for a box & she came back laughing because I looked like I was doing “baby shark”. She made my day & I will not signal baby shark again at any restaurants. **sigh** Anywho… We will go back to try other plates. Yummy food, Awesome service & perfect atmosphere!!”

“Small bakery but BIG quality and flavor!! Everything I have tried from there has been so delicious. The donuts are huge with homemade fillings, the pound cake is perfect and made with local fruits, but the pies - the pies will make you want to moan, curse, or both. The chocolate haupia pie is the best pie I’ve had in my life, but you can’t go wrong with any of the fruit ones or the sweet potato. Worth the drive from wherever you are, guaranteed.”

“This spot is straight heat. I always come here for their plate lunch with the cake noodle upgrade. It’s honestly a great deal since it comes with your choice of protein, cake noodle, cabbage, and a gau gee. They even give the sauce on the side so the cake noodle stays nice and crispy. This time we got two duck plate lunches and a pound of roast pork. Everything was tasty and delicious, and this place is always my go-to for duck and roast pork.”
“Ate there today.. best BBQ pork I’ve had here on Oahu. Hawaiian sauce was wonderful and baked beans were simmered with tiny pieces of jalapeños, had a slight delicious kick. Wedge salad… heavenly. i”
“Met Dee today when we stopped in for her delicious candy apples and chocolate dipped strawberries. She is an absolute sweetheart! Everything was so amazing! Apples and strawberries were fresh and we’re so beautiful I didn’t want to eat them. I’m down in Las Vegas on vacation and I’m definitely gonna stop before I leave back home.”

“My husband and I spent 24 hours in Honolulu and discovered this wonderful Thai Bistro! The service was very friendly and attentive to our preferences. We ordered spring rolls, brown rice, Penang chicken curry, and green curried chicken. Oh, the flavors were perfectly blended! It’s the best Thai food we’ve had outside of Thailand. We highly recommend Thai Bistro Suksabay!”
“I cannot believe it took me over SEVEN years on island to finally eat here—like, how did I miss this?! This spot in Aiea is a total hidden gem and exactly what I’ve been craving ever since my trip to Singapore. It’s similar to mala tang in that you get to pick your own veggies, meats, seafood, etc. to build your soup. The broth options are a little different though—no mouth-numbing mala like you’d find at YGF Mala Tang—but honestly, I didn’t mind one bit.
The spicy pumpkin soup base was perfection: creamy, flavorful, with just the right kick. It didn’t overwhelm my palate or leave me feeling heavy, and it tasted cleaner (less oily) than other broths I’ve tried. If you’re into creamy soups, the pumpkin base is a must-try!
Service was solid too. They refilled my water without me asking and even let me choose my seat (I was the first customer before the evening rush lol). The space was roomy, spotless, and you can tell it’s a true mom-and-pop operation—genuine care for both the food and the customers.
I’m already planning to come back this week because I cannot stop thinking about that pumpkin soup.
Oh, and if soup isn’t your thing (or if Hawaii’s heat has you craving something else), they’ve got chicken katsu with curry, stir fry, and other specialty dishes too.
VISIT. Seriously.”
“This Okazu shop is wonderful. Come early, they will be a line. We selected cone sushi, fried halibut, and Maki sushi roll. My son selected pork Adobo, Mac salad,”
“Delicious. I had seared three trio fish, scallops shrimp. Going to try to come back before leaving it was so good. Husband had fries trio said it was good, but would try mine next time.”

“This is my go-to spot after I get my hair cut at nearby Major League barber shop. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch. I've had the pollo asada and the chorizo & egg tacos, both with rice and beans. 🤤 This is a Veteran/family owned business that takes their food creations and customer relations seriously. It is also SoCal Mex based flavor-wise and takes me back to the neighborhood taco shops in L.A. and San Diego. I look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu.”

“We love this place. The service and the food is excellent. It's always busy but today was our 1st time we had to wait to be seated. Lunchtime, Only a few minutes. Worth it! Ruby was our server. Attentive and quick, pleasant personality. The staff here is awesome we even met the manger🙌
We paid for 2 around $36 my honey ate the Chop Steak w onion he said it was great and flavorful. I had a recommended Poke Bowl by Ruby with Ahi, so delicious BETTER THEN FOODLAND! Highly recommend this place.”
“Food was all right. Service was top notch for a small family-owned restaurant. Ordered the chicken satay which was quite savory. An interesting way of doing the peanut sauce. Not as sweet as other places back it on the mainland. Ordered the the drunken noodle Thai spicy, but couldn't get the spiciness I wanted. But the seafood in it was well done and tasty”
“Affordable price for buffet lovers. Valet parking is reasonable... Lots of choices to choose from... all you can eat for a price you will never regret...”

“This place has been around before covid. Service was great. Place was small. But it's the perfect size for what it's there for. Bubble waffle was tasty. Parking took a little bit. But that's because there's plenty of other businesses around. Worth it. Glad it closes a little late compared to most places. Will be back!”
“Food 5 ⭐️ portion is great, tasty, broth is clean and light.
Service 5 ⭐️ very attentive and accommodating.
Atmosphere 5 ⭐️chill, I feel relaxed eating, and they have working ac.
Must try their oxtail pho! Oxtail has a lot meat and pcs. So far I have not had highblood when I finish my oxtail pho which is good that’s why I keep coming back. I know that when I finish my bowl I won’t have any problems (but that’s my experience). Pho Time is my go to for oxtail pho, bun bu hue, and pho in general.
*i’m not sponsored or paid in any shape of form. Just a loyal customer who loves their food 😁”
“CeCe Patisserie offers outstanding customer service going above and beyond! I highly recommend checking out her tasty treats. They provide catering and delivery for gifting goodies as well! My experience with CeCe Patisserie was by far one of the best customer experiences I have had! 🌺”
“I love this place 1 of 2 of my favorite Korean food spots here on Oahu, Hawaii. The only thing missing in dine in. Only take out!! But does not take away from the friendly service and delicious fool. My favorite bbq chicken and Kalbi plate w/ Beansprouts and cabbage. Winner!!”
“Take out only. The have a vast variety of manapua, both steamed and baked. Staff is very friendly, efficient and puts a smile on my face. Makes a great impression when you are walking into a meeting, gathering, etc cause although everyone loves manapua, pork hash, half moon, rice cake, etc. Most people never think about this option which is far superior to donuts or other pastries.”
“The seafood pasta special was the best. Good amount of clams, scallops, shrimp and pasta. The server was very attentive and polite. The cost was higher than most but you definitely get what you pay for. Our party was very satisfied.”
“It’s still taste the same when it first open till now…..gooooddddd!!!”

“Large and delicious, but on the pricey side. Just be sure to leave a little time before ordering from a Domino's. Remembering the taste of Boston will strongly remind you of how bad Domino's taste (to be fair, Domino's has gluten free, so we did get those when our daughter was living with us.)”
“Everyone was very kind and the food was tasty! I got the Nom Nom and my partner got the Volcano but added grilled pineapple. We also shared a side of tater tots that had very good seasonings on them. It did seem that the location was under construction as the back walkway to the bathroom was not finished. But overall a great experience”
“First time here and food was so good. Definitely recommend banana pancake and katsu curry chicken. Service was excellent l, so friendly. It’s a small place so you have to wait in line outside to get in but the line moved really quick. Would definitely come again on our next visit.”
“For all you folks taking digs at the Asian lady, I agree but their pastries are the best and always fresh. They sell out daily. My wife and daughters love the breads. Take my advice...don't make small talk with the lady and you won't be disappointed. I drive from Manoa to this bakery; it's that good!!”
“Very friendly staff and good music, menu is also very easy to understand and have a lot of options. Plenty parking outside and they have convenient hours. Place looks very clean and have options for sitting. Today I tried the cocoa lover with and added some lychee, it is so delicious and refreshing, will definitely come back to try more of their teas.
Parking: Access from kaahumanu street”
“I lived in Korea for six years. It’s hard to find that perfect beef and leaf joint you remember from your Sam gyup sal days in Korea, but this place can do it.#1. The staff is great. I enjoy seeing them every time I go.#2. They have the soju, the Korean beer, the makgeolli.#3 The BBQ is on point, the sides are delicious and the kimchi is always great. If someone doesn’t like this place, then they don’t like real Korean food. Plain and simple.”
“We eat here at least twice a month. Food is always fresh and service is normally fast and friendly. The restaurant is fun and you order from your mobile device and the food is delivered via a train system that runs along the tables. I feel the prices are fair and they have the best French fries! Only complaint would be that this location is always very busy and we usually have to wait 15-30 minutes for a table.”
“Dude I know it’s only anecdotal evidence but I was feeling a little run down yesterday like I was getting sick, I remembered the antioxidants in the green tea so I took one at about 6pm and I woke up feeling 100% (it tasted great by the way)”
“Had my 35yrs UPS retirement party May 17th. Reserve the whole place from 4-11pm. Also you can bring your own food for your party too, but you can't bring in bottle water. They don't serve glass water either. It cost $3 for bottle water. Very nice staff and owner. Very clean restrooms too. Mahalo Blue Tropix Bar & Grill.”
“I was unprepared for this place to be inside the mall in the food court. We drive all over looking for it. Once found though it was really great service and some of the best mocktails I have ever had.”
“Affordable price for buffet lovers. Valet parking is reasonable... Lots of choices to choose from... all you can eat for a price you will never regret...”
“Newtown Korean Restaurant has flavorful but light korean dishes. Each dish isnt overpowering with salt or spices, but a well balance flavor level for your pallet. The quality and fair price makes this establishment a must try!”
“Been coming here for years now, and thankfully everything is still a great as it was 15+ years ago. Lovely was our waitress today and she was amazing! Quick and attentive. Will definitely continue to come back to this location specifically.”

“Had no idea this was in the mall when I looked up shaved ice places. But I really wanted shaved ice while I was in Hawaii and this one looked really good. It do not disappoint other than the location.
I got the mango cheesecake ice wave and subed the ube vanilla swirl soft serve”
“Head to Halawa and grab some lunch at Bombuchaz. We ordered the hamburger steak plate and the #3 special with beef stew, chicken long rice, and pan laulau. Yummers! The stew uses short ribs which made it even better. The flavors was spot on. We went there at 10:30 so only had about 3 people in line. I've heard they sell out so get there early and get your grub on!”
