When we got there we were greeted by the kind owner and his employee. We got there a bit late but were happy that they still had manapuas,rice cakes and bentos. “This spot is straight heat. I always come here for their plate lunch with the cake noodle upgrade. It’s honestly a great deal since it comes with your choice of protein, cake noodle, cabbage, and a gau gee. They even give the sauce on the side so the cake noodle stays nice and crispy. This time we got two duck plate lunches and a pound of roast pork. Everything was tasty and delicious, and this place is always my go-to for duck and roast pork.“

“Basically this is a workers bfast brunch lunch deal. Mon thru Fri. Sometimes parking is iffy early early but after 830 I believe it is all g. I love the place honestly. They get choke local kine grindz so not exactly a tourist destination but a solid place to grab some take out that wasn't engineered in a lab and that also is not deadly(fast food talking to u).“

“Since mid-1970’s, Mini Garden has been my favorite Chinese Food restaurant. I’ve followed them to different locations from downtown Honolulu to Mapunapuna to this Airport location. Their noodle dishes are prepared in front of of you at the counter since the mid-1970’s! Excellent food, friendly service!“

“I usually call in my order so I don't need to wait in line. But, they are busy especially during late morning and lunch time that they don't answer the phone right away. Need to call several times before someone answers. Once in awhile you would have to wait for someone to help at pick-up counter because they are helping the walk-in customers.

They do have a good selection of food, but if you go too early not all choices are out.

Note: Bring back the regular size Azuki Bean manapuas!“

“My son and I walked in for a late lunch. The atmosphere was clean, bright and lively. The staff greeted us with a smile and invited us to sit down. I ordered Lunch Plate B, and it was delicious and the proportions were generous! My son ordered Egg Flower Soup which we shared, also yummy! I can't remember what his entree was but he said it was delicious!“

“Aloha; this spot has been around for years but this was my first time enjoying thier establishment with my family. The service was quiet but instant, food was served the quickest I have ever seen in a Chinese spot. The food was perfect, cake noodles were perfect, Mongolian beef tender, Egg Blossom soup was unreal good and Peking duck was perfectly tender and moist. There are only about 32 seats available but most people do take out. It's super old school look made me feel like it was the 80 again enjoying it with family...I loved it. You have to try it. This is how I remember traditional Chinese food.“

“I cannot believe it took me over SEVEN years on island to finally eat here—like, how did I miss this?! This spot in Aiea is a total hidden gem and exactly what I’ve been craving ever since my trip to Singapore. It’s similar to mala tang in that you get to pick your own veggies, meats, seafood, etc. to build your soup. The broth options are a little different though—no mouth-numbing mala like you’d find at YGF Mala Tang—but honestly, I didn’t mind one bit.

The spicy pumpkin soup base was perfection: creamy, flavorful, with just the right kick. It didn’t overwhelm my palate or leave me feeling heavy, and it tasted cleaner (less oily) than other broths I’ve tried. If you’re into creamy soups, the pumpkin base is a must-try!

Service was solid too. They refilled my water without me asking and even let me choose my seat (I was the first customer before the evening rush lol). The space was roomy, spotless, and you can tell it’s a true mom-and-pop operation—genuine care for both the food and the customers.

I’m already planning to come back this week because I cannot stop thinking about that pumpkin soup.

Oh, and if soup isn’t your thing (or if Hawaii’s heat has you craving something else), they’ve got chicken katsu with curry, stir fry, and other specialty dishes too.

“One of my favorite places to go for takeout orders. Only because they have little room for dine in. My main order is the Extra large plate. So I usually always order the Extra fried rice, Honey walnut shrimp and the new Spicy honey chicken which isn't spicy at all but it beats out the orange chicken any day if you try it. And my side on the Extra large plate is an extra order of the Honey chicken in a box instead of it being put on my plate because I like to eat it later I mix it in with at home. My secret mix??I've pretty much tried most that you can choose from and this is what I buy 99 percent of the time I go there for a take out for dinner. It's Soo Onolisish!!!I never buy a drink from them because it's more expensive than other places and I usually don't drink soda anymore so I buy my drink from somewhere else. I only have eaten inside once and it was because me and my bff were running around shopping in that area that day. I would love to order the family meal or a bunch or large takeout boxes but find that it is very expensive buying that way and the extra large plate is very reasonable to me. “New owners as of Oct 24. No more lunch special, more concise menu and an updated feel! I think the portions are a but bigger and the food tastes a bit more ono! Faves are still sweet sour fish, salt n pepper shrimp, and steamed fish. The owner is the chef and Kelly usually runs the front house! I will enjoy continuing to go eat here! There is a new 3% credit card surcharge.“

Parking: restaurant has about 10 spaces. only 1/2 of our kupuna group (4 cars) got parking at lunchtime. street parking available in 1 block area on School & Houghtailing (below School) streets.“

“I came here with two of my girlfriends for a very anticipated late night dinner after a long day. We all liked our food— I ordered the vegetable ramen with miso broth, my friend got the spicy pork ramen, and my other friend got the tonkatsu— the portions were good, price was good, and the service was stellar. They played a small game with me at the end after I paid for the check, where I won a bar of soap & I thought that was so cool and a cute way to end the meal!!!! “Friend mentioned to check out panda's website for a $25 family deal which includes two sides and three entree items... for a family of four it's quite a lot and the same family pack usually close to $40. During this shelter-in-place time it was a very good deal. Easy to order online, you just show your confirmation number to the worker at the make-shift counter that is now placed at the entrance to the establishment. You can also select what time you want for pick-up.“

This restaurant has been in this location since they opened up in that location, but remember them located where Highway Inn is and them needing a bigger space, so there you go, another oldie but goodie food place.“
