“We always stop in for delicious treats when we're in Hanapepe. Their selection of pastries is spectacular. The staff are always so down to earth and sweet. You won't be disappointed”
“Hands down the best restaurant on the island. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt stunning Hotel, incredible staff. The breakfast feast as we call it out of this world. But I did not find the dinners to be any where near Japanese Grandma Cafe’The food was so good here I found myself in deep intersection on how I would have to prepare food at home to get it here, found new flavors I hadn’t considered before, and Kate our server was delightful. If your on the Island of Kauai and your looking for something special to share with someone you love even if that person is just yourself, look no further.Could not recommend more highly ??Mahalo”
“This was first ever experience with Filipino food and WOW! Glad I chose this place. It's quite small size wise but had good food selection and I tried all kinds of stuff I've never had before: mungo beans, chicken wings, pork adobo, banana lumpia and a noodle dish I don't know name of. Also had dragon fruit. If I misspelled anything I sincerely apologize! Not only was the food phenomenal but the service and atmosphere was truly awesome. The folks that worked there were kind, considerate, friendly and amazing human beings. I have nothing but good things to say!! Bottom line - eat here!!!”
“The food is GOOD. I ordered the beef stew, cabbage and pork and steak and eggs. Everything was very flavorful and big portions. 10/10. Waitstaff was also very friendly and the restaurant looks like a true local spot.”
“Really good coffee. I made the mistake of getting an 8 ounce bag of the Pakala at a gift shop in Kauai for around $20 not realizing that you can get a subscription on their website for a 16 ounce bag for $24 which includes shipping. Although I think the coffee is good, I don't drink it that frequently due to the price. Believe it or not ALDI has a similar tasting coffee for $7 for the same size.”
“I really love this shave ice place. I've been to this location a few times and it's always the best, especially after walking around town. My boyfriend and I shared a large shave ice with pineapple, lychee and ube flavors. Service is always quick and friendly. We sat out on the barstools in the area right outside the shave ice stand to enjoy our little treat. The ube flavoring was rich and turned our teeth and mouths purple. My favorite flavor was the pineapple though. I highly recommend this place if you're in town.”
“This is still the best cookies in Kauai. Our family favorites are the Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookie and the Macadamia Nut Shortbread Cookie. This is an absolute must stop when visiting Kauai. You will not be disappointed.”
“If you ever go to this place, order the nachos!! We stopped for an afternoon snack and those nachos came out as a meal! We put shredded beef on one order and shredded chicken on the other, and let me tell you the owner did not disappoint. We were wondering what was taking so long, but they were totally worth the wait.”
“Stopped here on day 2 of a 11 day trip and had to come back 2 more times. Prices are reasonable and food was phenomenal! I got the chicken and it was probably the most tender chicken I’ve ever eaten. Be careful of the bones though as the breasts are cut with I’m assuming a butcher’s saw with the bones attached. We’ll worth it even with being cautious. Hope to visit again some day.”
“No air con but it was very friendly . The food was very delicious. We ate vegetarian!!! Yummm!!!Vegetarian options: Spring rolls are made up fresh and very hot and are vege.”
“The chips are thin and crispy. The best taro or potato chips you've had! The place is a small shack but at least they have a sign so you couldn't miss. The chips need to be eaten within the week as the oil would get spoiled.”
“We came to this place multiple times on our stay. It's not cheap, but what is on Kauai. Portions are good though, and the food was seasoned to perfection. We found out that this Pacos is no longer part of the other Pacos Tacos at large which is a GOOD thing. The others Pacos tacos we visited had bland food overall. Nowhere near as good as this location.Well done guys,”
“Excellent local spot. Prices are very good, and the portions are generous. The MCS combo with the spicy chicken was my goto. I also got an unhealthy amount of their peach cobbler...simply perfect. Service is friendly, and food is always fresh tasting.”
“I give 5 stars because their food is one of the best, unadulterated local grinds you'll ever find on Kauai. Any plate or combo will tickle your tastebuds and hit the spot. There's few tables inside but best enjoyed outdoors like the beach. Make sure you hide your lunch plate from coworkers unless you're willing to share. Cash only. Might have to park couple blocks away especially on Fridays.”
“We have heard great things about this truck, so we finally tried it and are so glad we did! We ordered the shrimp tacos and Cali Burrito, and both were delicious. The salsas were particularly good, with the right amount of heat. I look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu!”
“5 stars all around! The grilled cheese pulled pork was possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Mac salad was great, even the keiki hot dog was great. Owner was super personable and elevated our already great ”
“Absolutely loved the coffee here! Espresso is nicely roasted and shines through whatever beverage you get! The service is fantastic and very friendly! The sleeper beverage here is definitely the chai, a must try in my opinion. If you’re in the area stop by Eden Coffee!!!”
“Wow, amazing little spot for a vegan meal! We loved that they’re 100% vegan. Both the tacos and Thai salad were so fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this place for a healthy meal!”
“The food is really good. I had an omlet with the grilled cornbread and hashbrowns. The omlet was very tasty. I ate the whole thing. You have to get the grilled corn muffin for breakfast. Their lunch is good too. They have local beef for their burgers. They are open for dinner on some evenings and the dinner is just as good. It also has a bakery with pastries and sliced cake. Very yummy. They have plenty of staff that help get you seated and clean up quickly so others can get a table. You order first then get seated. It all works out. It has a diner feel to it. You can sit outside or inside. It is a popular spot so come with patience while you wait in line.”
“Amazing coffee!! They can ship to your house!! So I was able to get more coffee and not have to carry it in my luggage. So smart. Self guided tour was great - wish we had booked the guided tour! Sold out fast!”
“If the fact that we came here 3 times for shaved ice in one week doesn't say how much we enjoyed it then I don't know what would! The best shaved ice I have ever had in Hawaii! Served with a smile and some local suggestions, a generous portion with naturally made fruit flavored syrups (you can totally tell) and a huge scoop of ice cream topped with some macadamia nuts and I am now adding them as a rotation into my diet. A small food cart, conveniently located across from a beautiful snorkel spot and some vacation rentals, there is limited street parks that we didn't have trouble finding but can see it being busy in the summer. Will be my first stop when I'm back in Kauai!”
“Stopped at food truck on my way up to the canyon. Great food! I got the Pork Belly came with rice and macaroni salad. Pork belly was perfectly seasoned then cooked on a flat top grill. Great flavors and only 12 bucks! Must try.”
“A great little ice cream shop with delicious vegan options. While sorbet is not particularly appealing when what you want is ice cream, the sorbetto here is close enough to vegan ice cream that those who can’t eat dairy can have something as great as those who can. Both ice cream and sorbetto had tons of options and great toppings.”
“Some people take a long time ordering or have a large order. It's best (for those waiting in line behind you) if you call ahead with your order, or at least know what you want before you get to the register.”
“Great prices, large servings and delicious açaí bowls! Highly recommend visiting here when in the area. There are a few tables to sit at but you can also take it to a nearby beach and enjoy outside.”
“My favorite coffee spot! Must try the Iced Hawaiian Vanilla with oat milk, and don’t forget to add the coffee cubes :) Always great customer service when I go.”
“A Must-Visit for Authentic Kauai Coffee and TreatsThis cafe is the best place to grab authentic Kauai coffee. The staff is wonderful and adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Don't miss out on their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie - it's absolutely delicious. A perfect spot for coffee lovers and anyone looking for a tasty treat.”
“Mmmmmm. Had a lovely Island Bliss latte with spy milk, tried my daughter's Eden Freeze (I'll be back midday for one of those), and my lady got a tasty latte. The quality, the milk selection, the lovely service, and all added up to the name of my drink pure Island Bliss. Definitely worth a stop for the magical bean drinks they offer.Vegetarian options: Good alternative milk choicesDietary restrictions: Several alternative milk options like soy and others”
“Wow! If you are looking for a shave ice that isn’t sickly-sweet, with a bold natural flavor profile, this is just the place for you. We came just 10 minutes before closing and are so glad we did, will definitely be returning…”
“Nice cafe with a hip vibe of the 1950s diner. The food is well prepared with local ingredients. The Mushroom soup is very tasty and so is the chili. They have a lunch special with soup, salad, roll sushi and flat bread.”
