I've been chasing the dragon of really great Vietnamese bún for a long time and this delivered bigtime. Go give it a shot and don't be afraid to ask for spicy.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian versions of their bahn-mi and bún salads. They even asked about mayo, so they do care that your food will be strictly vegetarian if you so desire.“
“I am not one that gives reviews out easily, but when the food is really great and sticks in my mind wanting more, I enjoy letting others know how good it was too! I enjoy a good fancy papaya salad with the avocados, tomatoes, and delicious mixed nuts. I've tried papaya salad many places, but this is absolutely the best I have had! It's always fresh, crunchy and so delicious with just the right amount of spiciness! I find myself looking ahead on my calendar to see which weekend I have off so that I can go get one! “After looking at places I wanted to try during our stay in Hilo, I was most excited about eating here and going to the Farmer's Market. Imagine my disappointment when it was pouring rain the day we went to the Farmer's Market, and with the large crowd, there was nowhere covered to eat. If I'd been by myself, I would have just ordered to go, but the rest of my party wanted to sit down somewhere to eat. So we went somewhere else. On our last day in Hilo, I finally made it to Poke N Sides and it was delicious. I had to wait in a line, but it went quickly. There is both a line for burgers and a line for poke. I chose poke. There is a cooler display with all the food and when you get to the counter you choose what kind of bowl you want. I did the 2 choice bowl for $24. I got to choose 2 different types of poke and 2 sides. First time ever trying purple potato salad and I'm in love! I don't remember what else I got, but it was delicious. After ordering and paying for it, I got a buzzer that let me know when my food was ready. The wait was not too long.“
“Super service..it was a personable young lady. Must be good timing ordering the cold vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and 2 sandwiches because the wait time was minimal. The noodles were really good and it fed 2 adults for lunch. Lots of pork that was seasoned just right for us. Ordered a chicken and a pork sandwich but we were so full from the salad, that will be dinner. Judging by the weight of the sandwich...must be packed! One star off for clear pricing on menu. No receipt so can't share the itemization.“
“Super delicious carnitas street tacos! They make their own hot sauce too. And the tacos are so flavorful and moist, a lil crispy. Perfection. Shredded chicken is great also.Parking: Big open gravel parking lot to park in. Just drive into the open metal gate/fence.“
“Since moving from Oahu I've missed poi mochi. Finally decided to try the Poi Balls truck and get my fix. The poi balls were small and well-cooked, crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside. I really enjoyed the haupia balls, too. But the -real- star of the show was the smoked marlin dip! Cheeee! So good I could've eaten the whole container with a spoon. #SoOno.“

“Listen!! This was amazing. I do NOT like duck and came here with a friend. She said I’m getting fries loaded with duck. I said, well, I’m not getting anything. She asked me to taste just a bite, and I am the one who finished the dish. The sauce, the cheese, the crisp-to-perfection fries, and the DUCK! Sooo tasty. I am so happy. I’m in disbelief in how much I loved this place and the food. I’m officially a fan and await my return.“
