“Best poke I have had on the island. Big portions and the fish has been super fresh in my experiences here. Honestly, I will likely be back again today. To the reviewer who said there were “many” better poke places in Seattle (where I live), thanks for the good laugh. Thank you and keep it up, Pau Hana!“

“Having found (and loved) Magics on a prior visit to the Bug Island, it was an easy call to start this trip with a beachside lunch immediately after arriving. Nothing cures travel fatigue better than relaxing under an umbrella on Magics' deck over the waves with a brilliant mai tai and an order of firecracker ono tacos. Really good food and drinks, friendly staff, perfect location.“

“The food at Fish Hopper,Kona, was great! My husband thought the pulled pork sandwich was the best he had ever had! My parmersan crusted fish was excellent! We do wish the wings weren’t just during happy hours.“

“Not much of a restaurant per se but the food is amazing. It’s been closed (out of fish) many times we have been by but got lucky this time. Been here years past for other trips and it was just as good this time. Will be back again next year.“

“The experience was humorous since it is a unique dining experience. Food was good but not fantastic. Not the healthiest of meals. The restaurant uses an unnecessarily large amount of plastic waist which was disappointing to me. There is room for improvement.“

“Incredible fresh ahi!!! My friend and I visited on a Sunday night around 6:30. We sat at the bar because there was a line and it was the perfect spot for us. We both got the poke flight with rice and a mai tai (not the ordinary Mai tai but HUGHKY recommend! Very boozy so beware if you do not like that but I love it). You get to choose 4 of their house pokes which are all incredible! I will be here every time I visit the island 🤙🏻 Aloha!
Dietary restrictions: Everything is fresh and can be tailored to individual needs.
Parking: Gets busy right by the restaurant as there are a ton of places in the Sam spot, but there is a parking lot right over the fence (have to walk around) that always has open spots.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor with wheelchair accessible ramps“

“Our food was delicious and made to order. Kalua Loco moco was the first for me but so glad I tried it. Husband had the fresh ahi tuna sandwich, cooked great. 👍🏻“
“You can easily eat abalone on the Big Island of Hawaii. 5 minutes by car from Kona Airport. This is an abalone farming center. You can also cook your own food on the barbecue. We received pre-cooked abalone from the kitchen wagon. On this day, we also had a special menu, carpaccio. The taste is lemony and refreshing, and the texture is crunchy and fresh! I don't think you can eat garlic butter sauté in such a luxurious way in Japan. I was able to enjoy bite-sized pieces of abalone in the shell. Shared by 3 people.“

“Got some ono, striped marlin, and smoked marlin sausage here today. I'm a tourist, so no expert in local culinary stuff. But I know quality product and good service when I see it. Do yourself a flavor and come try this local seafood market if you have access to a kitchen! Well worth it. 🤙“

“Big Island Abalone is a unique aquaculture farm located in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, specializing in premium abalone. They offer a variety of experiences, including a food truck serving freshly prepared abalone dishes and a DIY barbecue area called Kona Barbeque.
We visited the food truck without a reservation and enjoyed a set that included both oysters and abalone. The staff was incredibly friendly and made our experience enjoyable. Both the abalone and oysters were fresh and delicious.

For those interested in the Kona Barbeque experience, it's important to note that reservations are required. This self-grilling BBQ area allows guests to cook their own meals using locally sourced ingredients, including abalone, lobster, shrimp, oysters, beef, and vegetables. The venue provides all necessary equipment, such as grills, utensils, and tableware. Reservations can be made online, and it's recommended to book at least 48 hours in advance.
Overall, Big Island Abalone offers a memorable culinary experience that combines fresh seafood with interactive dining. Whether you're stopping by the food truck or planning a BBQ, it's a must-visit spot for seafood lovers.😍“

“Best Chinese food in Kona. It's hard to find good Chinese on the neighbor islands. O'ahu has lots of choices. But this definitely quenched my Chinese food craving. Their roast duck is meaty and yummy. I also love they have hamha dishes. They will even prepare any fresh fish you bring in. I don't usually like shrimp canton, but the way they make it is awesome. It's not all batter and a small shriveled shrimp. Rather, they butterfly and batter so you get nice meaty shrimp with the right amount of batter.“

“Nice atmosphere, decent prices, beer prices are crazy, $8/bottle of domestic but I buy 12 pack of Kona brewing big wave brew at local store for $15. Fries were crisp and fresh, fish was frozen cod, expecting local fish for $19, but i was happy with the meal. I would and I will return again to this place.“

“Great bar, very quiet when we visited but we were wanting something peaceful so it was nice. Free wifi was a bonus :-) Watched the sunset with a cocktail in hand and had great chats with our waiter Michael, a very pleasant guy who gave us lots of tips on what to see/do/try and told us about his life here on Kona. Michael, we really enjoyed it, thank you!“

“Ordered the catch of the day, in this case, Ahi Fish tacos and Ahi fish and chips. We had a choice of Ahi or Ono. I would have liked to try the Ono as the Ahi was a little too heavy. Otherwise, the crust was crunchy and the fish was meaty and generous and tasted good.
Ate out on the patio and enjoyed a nice breeze.“

“I don’t normally leave reviews but this place was fantastic so I had to! We ate there multiple times on our weekend in Kona. Vegan options that were so yummy! And nonvegan for my hubby and kids! I had the jackfruit salad it was amazing! They BBQ the jackfruit and warm it up! They were able to add all the fresh and local veggies I requested too! Yummy beets that day! My kids got smoothies and loved them as well! The owner was so kind, taking our order a minute before closing and staying/waiting to lock up while my kids had to use the restroom 5x 🤣🤪 anyways if you are looking for a healthy, casual fast meal in Kona GO here!! Great prices and fresh food!“
