“Why 5 stars?
Because our server, Joy made the whole dining experience enjoyable. She's been here more than 20 years and still had a smile for us every time she visited the table, which was just often enough but not too often.
Because Jaime (and his trainee) did a great job with all the little things like water and clearing dishes.
Because the food was absolutely delicious. The coconut scallops were cooked to perfection, the lamb chops tender, juicy and very nicely seasoned. The Hawaiian seafood platter was perfect and the mahi mahi was also delicious. We topped it off with the molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream.
The host also did a great job, seating us at our reserved time.
Everything was flawless, bravo Tidepools, it's hard to orchestrate everything so well, but you did it.
Did I mention Joy? What a delightful person.
Finally, the restaurant is beautiful with views of the ocean, koi pools all around with lots of colorful fish, open to the outside (but fully indoors too!), easy to get around and enough distance between tables to have a peaceful conversation.“

They put fresh fruit rather than ice cream on it and rather than waiting till the end they put flavor in the middle making it flavorful through. Therefore this place is 1# in Hawaii so far.“

“This food truck is the best place for poké on Kauai! Charming relaxed atmosphere, DELICIOUS food at affordable prices, all next to an open building with great shops. Corn hole game for the kiddos set up near the covered seating area. All 8 in our group agreed that this was the place to eat! Visited 2-3 times during our stay. Highly recommend!“

“Food at La Spezia is outstanding! This was the first time dining at La Spezia (party of three), and we couldn't have been more pleased. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The food was the most delicious any of of us has ever had. I ordered the gnocchi, my friend ordered the short rib ravioli (and couldn't stop raving about it!), and my husband devoured the wagyu hanger steak (he said it was amazing!). The wine we drank was terrific as well (a red zinfandel)! Even though all of us were full, we ordered dessert the salted caramel panna cotta, which was outstanding! All in all a meal we will never forget! We highly recommend La Spezia for a very enjoyable night, to anyone looking for a great restaurant in Koloa.“

“Nice take out joint. If you into spicy food, their hot sauce is amazing. Luckily the owner was present when we visited and he made sure we got the hot sauce we needed.

Personally we had one with mild sauce & passion fruit sauce and another with spicy jalapeño & ketchup. Delicious until the last bite. Grab extra napkins and head to the beach to enjoy with a fresh squeezed lemonade! You won’t be disappointed“

“Great place to eat, only complaint we have is they do not make it clear that they do not offer the lunch buffet any more and we had only half an hour to get our food before they remove the the items and start serving Lunch. Staff went out of their way to help out with helping us get our plates.“

“Well we tried it. I will say it was the least expensive meal we ate. But the burgers are McDonalds size. They were ok, good I guess, but nothing special. The onion rings were good, but we only got 2 with our order of Frings. I would say if you are craving a small, cheap burger and there's no line, it's worth it. Otherwise, you can probably find better.“

“Came for happy hour! Food is simple but cooked well and tasty! 2 drink minimum if you come for happy hour. We got the tacos for taco Tuesday. Some teriyaki wings (breaded). Coconut shrimp and pork belly appetizer. Beers are served in frosty mugs! Definitely recommend stopping here for a casual dining experience. They also have a ton of tvs for any sporting event! Great views and the open air kept it at a great temperature inside.“

“This is a great hotel restaurant spot! Do not miss the lobster dynamite which is a great value as well as delicious. It's a whole lobster tail stuffed with essentially a warm lobster salad. Black cod bites were to die for! The special last night was a surf and turf-esque roll with wagyu beef and shrimp tempura, also delicious. The only thing I would skip is th vegi maki roll. WAY too much shiso in it. Tasted like straight pine sol floor cleaner. Otherwise drinks were great also.“

“The Prime Rib was enjoyed by my son-in-law, and I LOVED the Stung Honey Fried Chicken. The coconut shrimp were the perfect accompianment to the King Tiki Mai Thai. My wife loved the Asian Salad, but my DIL thought the Macademia Crusted Mahi Mahi was a bit dry. Service was SPECTACULAR, and the kids menu was extensive - our 3.5 yo grandson loved the grilled cheese sandwich with waffle fries, our 19 month old grandaughter loved the pasta with marinara, and there was also pasta with butter sauce, cheese burger sliders with waffle fries, and chicken tenders with waffle fries. The view of the pool and ocean from under the lanai was also terrific!“

“Food is still good however the service now sucks. if your eating and want something else or another drink. whoever is serving you will not get it you are told that you must go back up to the cashier and order it there. what kind of crap is that. when told that I replied that "Then no need to tip you right" ? got a dirty look for that one, I'm just saying what's the purpose of having a waiter/waitress that won't get anything may as well go to the Crack. glad the one in Kalaheo isn't like poipu !!“
