“Once again, Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt Kauai is a winner. We come here every time we're in Kauai (which is almost yearly) to celebrate either a birthday or our anniversary. It never disappoints us. From the moment we arrive, we are treated like we matter. I always mention in my reservation request that we're celebrating something, and everyone from the hostess to each and every one of the wait staff acknowledges the occasion. And it's genuine! They also include a complimentary dessert (their incredibly decadent and delicious lava cake)! The service is friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive—couldn't be better. This restaurant has been one of our favorites for over 20 years and will remain so for as long as we're able to enjoy it.“

“This food truck is the best place for poké on Kauai! Charming relaxed atmosphere, DELICIOUS food at affordable prices, all next to an open building with great shops. “We ate at La Spezia twice in September 2024 and absolutely loved it! A couple of us had the fettuccine calabrese, which was delicious and huge – enough for two meals. We also tried vongole e gamberetti, spaghetti arrabbiata, short rib ravioli, and veal scallopini. We also took desserts to go—tiramisu, cheesecake, and panna cotta. All were very good. Every dish gets a thumbs up! Probably the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. And the service was top-notch. Considering the quality, priced are reasonable. If I’m ever back in Kauai I’ll eat there again. Tip: Make a reservation if you want to get it. It’s not a large place.“

“This food truck is tucked into Old Town Koloa next to some other food trucks which is nice if you are with a group who want different things to eat. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my dad ordered the teriyaki chicken. It took about 20 minutes as they make it fresh to order and man was it fresh and delicious! It tasted homemade for sure! The chicken was juicy and flavorful in both dishes and the servings were generous. We had loads of leftovers too. It all tasted just as good the next day!

I have eaten plenty of pad Thai in my life and this one tasted very much not like what I am used to and I enjoyed it immensely. The flavors were amazing, but not over the top where I’m grabbing for water every two seconds. And tons of peanuts which I love!

I gave 4 stars only because there is very little seating so it’s not really set up to eat there unless you are lucky enough to get a spot. We would have loved to order and eat fresh right there, but instead brought it back to our hotel. It was amazing though! I want to try the spring rolls next time! Highly recommend for some authentic Thai cuisine!“

The food servers behind the carving stations were so nice, too. A must try for all who visit the Ilima Grand Hyatt at Shipwrecks Kauai. Go try the Ilima Terrace!!!“

“This place was highly recommended by my patient that was part of a Facebook Group that posted about this place a lot and they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was good and the service was fantastic, but not so good that we made a second stop on our trip. Their service was quick too, so it's a good stop if you only have a short time to eat! Their menu includes: Truffle Burger, Veggie Burger, Chicken Katsu Sandwich, Kenji Burger (teriyaki, ponzu aioli, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato & arugula), Misoyaki Fish Sandwich, Salads, Sushi Burritos & Bowls (loco moco, chicken katsu, misoyaki fish, and poke). “Wow!!!Admittedly, these are the first tacos I’ve had on Kauai but they are so so good. I ordered the grilled fish tacos and the blackened fish tacos. The fish is generously portioned and both were yummy. The blackened fish tacos were a flavor bomb and if I have time to go back, I will order all blackened fish. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Total for my four tacos was $29 which seems fair for two meals and cheaper than any other meal I’ve had here. 10/10“

“Went here our first day on the island for drinks and ended up getting dinner, too. The service was pretty slow, but the server was super friendly and attentive once she finally made it to the table. My wife had the mahi mahi tacos and I had the mahi sandwich and they were fantastic. We also had two drinks each, the last two were the lava flow (delicious) and mudslide (not bad, but not great). The views are gorgeous overlooking the ocean and the prices aren’t awful. For 4 cocktails and two entrees it was about $120 which is honestly one of the cheaper places near the beach.“

“Well we tried it. I will say it was the least expensive meal we ate. But the burgers are McDonalds size. They were ok, good I guess, but nothing special. The onion rings were good, but we only got 2 with our order of Frings. I would say if you are craving a small, cheap burger and there's no line, it's worth it. Otherwise, you can probably find better.“

“The Prime Rib was enjoyed by my son-in-law, and I LOVED the Stung Honey Fried Chicken. The coconut shrimp were the perfect accompianment to the King Tiki Mai Thai. My wife loved the Asian Salad, but my DIL thought the Macademia Crusted Mahi Mahi was a bit dry. Service was SPECTACULAR, and the kids menu was extensive - our 3.5 yo grandson loved the grilled cheese sandwich with waffle fries, our 19 month old grandaughter loved the pasta with marinara, and there was also pasta with butter sauce, cheese burger sliders with waffle fries, and chicken tenders with waffle fries. The view of the pool and ocean from under the lanai was also terrific!“

“This place manages to give a beach shack vibe in an open-air mall. It's not fancy but the shrimps are great! Bear in mind that if you don't want spicy, don't risk anything with the ?️ graphic; don't chance it, go for the dish with the coconut milk scampi.

“Food is still good however the service now sucks. if your eating and want something else or another drink. whoever is serving you will not get it you are told that you must go back up to the cashier and order it there. what kind of crap is that. when told that I replied that "Then no need to tip you right" ? got a dirty look for that one, I'm just saying what's the purpose of having a waiter/waitress that won't get anything may as well go to the Crack. glad the one in Kalaheo isn't like poipu !!“
